Earth communication is irredeemably complex despite the primitive technology.
We do not abduct human subjects. The anatomy of your species has been investigated to our complete satisfaction going back a number of your decades. We do study you. However, our observations would be spoiled, to borrow one of your terms, if a subject were to know of our presence let alone come into physical contact with us.
Sexual Reproduction
Your species is one of the few to retain your sexual impulses. Or so we thought.
Most technological species shed their sexual impulses early on. Where your kind differ is in that your form of sexuality seems to be orgasm driven. Your kind engage in sex seeking the end result. For most other species it would be more similar to what you think of as the "Lower Animals." Sex is all on impulse, it is an instinct and the drive is toward engaging in the act without a care for its results, nor anything else for that matter. This is hardly conducive to a technological lifestyle. One can hardly build the complex social environment necessary when one may at any moment be overcome by animal instinct, mounting a nearby specimen of a complimentary sex like one of your Canine pets in heat. Even in your society, as antiquated as you are, you could imagine the difficulty if such instincts surfaced in the midst of landing one of your aircraft, driving an automobile vehicle or performing a medical operation of some complexity. This is why all but a few species have lost their reproductive instincts in favor of a conscious control over reproduction.
Interestingly, the retention of sexuality into your technological phase seems to have left you with something of an obsession, as many of your own researchers and scholars have found. Even your Freud famously discovered sex in everything, or so it is popularly stated. One might suspect that this would be true of most other species, and not your own, as some small vestige of their animal sexual instincts no doubt lay undiscovered within their subconscious, rationalized away and escaping as all manner of thoughts and altered perceptions. But the converse appears true, with your kind, as the most openly sexual, sexual obsession and the manifestation of suppressed sexual desires are far more prevalent than in other species we have studied.
You are an enigma.
Extraterrestrial Biological Entity: A Primer
There is a lot of misinformation on us out there, most of it little more than fantasy, so if you allow me a moment I think I might be able to clear up a number of common misconceptions.
Part 1. "The Reptilians."
We "Greys," as you call us, were not created by any Reptilian species, nor are we subjugated by any such species.
In fact, the Reptilians are not even aliens at all, not in the usual sense. They originate on your planet, what you call the Earth. They are not alien to your place but to your time.
The Reptilians are time travelers. Their species arose back during what you call the early Jurassic. No, they are not "Intelligent Dinosaurs." They are certainly related to Dinosaurs but more closely related to Pterosaurs. They are visitors to your time period, and at first were violently shocked to discover that their kind appears to be extinct, leaving no descendents.
The Reptilians frequently claim to be aliens from another world, sometimes even disguising themselves as one of us "Greys," as you call us, though noticeably smaller. It is they who give my species and all visiting species to your planet a bad reputation.
The Reptilians do attempt to meddle in human affairs. They are cold, ruthless and quite brutal, even to each other. To my own kind they seem emotionless while the few humans who have experience with Reptilians describe them as evil. They want one thing and one thing only, and that is to take "Their" planet back from you Apes. They are far too small in numbers to accomplish this on their own so most of their plots center on manipulating humans to do their bidding. This has worked well for them as many of your economic and political leaders are willing (if not eager) to aid the Reptilians in exchange for additional wealth or power, even when they possess the intellectual capability to ascertain the inevitable harm which must come to your species (including themselves), assuming the Reptilians are successful.
For the most part we leave the Reptilians alone. To us they are yet another species to be studied. We do on occasion disrupt their schemes, but this is for our benefit and not for the benefit of your species. If and when we have exhausted the scientific avenues of investigation on your planet we will have to decide which of your two species we would prefer as galactic neighbors.
As conceived, these "Primer" posts will be about me and my kind, not about your species or other visiting species. I had hoped to leave you with a foundation of sorts, a better understand of what we are and are not. For this reason I have consciously avoided much on the subject of Reptilians which I could share, and will certainly offer if prompted to do so. Please use the earlier "Questions?" post to convey any request.
NOTE: The image is an Earth artists conception and as such is grossly inaccurate. The shape of the head is wrong, the snout is too large and the color here is green when the actual Reptilians are what you would call a brown. I chose it as an image I thought you, my intended audience, might recognize. I must as your kind might say "apologize" for any confusion this has caused.
Uncomfortable
It is a poor reflection of your Earth cultures that I should feel it necessary to say this, but I am not interested in probing your anus.
I can not even begin to imagine why your species would invent the notion of superior beings traveling vast distances just so we can peer inside your colon. The value which you, as a culture, must place on your bodily waste is obviously quite high. You see my species as no threat to your eyes or your airways. I pose no threat to your limbs. Apparently your ears are quite secure around me as well. Yet, you can not excrete yesterdays meal without thinking that beings capable of interstellar travel are disappointed that they did not get to it first.
I find myself simultaneously amused, insulted, horrified and baffled by your anus fixation.
Questions?
I have disabled my ask box, but if you have a question you may ask it here, in response to this post.
I do not believe there will be a response as my blog is not very old, nor have I attained a large number of followers. But, in the unlikely event anyone would like to communicate with me they may do so through this post.
Questions?
TV Time
As a reflection of your dreams and aspirations, as a manifestation of your fears, as a record of your past not how it was but how you wish it were I must say that television exposes your species as the pathetic, underachieving laughing stock of the galaxy which you are.
What you call "entertainment" is puerile trash. What you think of as "Educational" is inaccurate at best, more commonly hyperbole and sometimes pure nonsense, and your "News" is so bad (most of it being paid for by special interests or dictated by governments) that the best informed amongst your kind are by extension the most out of touch with reality.
I spend roughly a third of each Earth day monitoring your entertainment. I would prefer not, but as your species requires sleep I have a great deal of free time. For me to complete one Earth year of observations, for example, requires 18 of your Earth months as a result of your species need for sleep. This leaves me with six of your months to fill.
Sometimes it makes me want to position myself upon a "transporter."
Earthling Confusion
As a visitor to your planet I should say a few words on a subject so dear to you Earthlings that it borders on obsession:
Transporters.
The first bit of news I must issue is that Star Trek is a television series, it is entertainment and not a documentary. It is fantasy. The technologies and societies represented are not even internally consistent, let alone viable. Yes, there is something which you would recognize as a "Transporter" on my world, but it is significantly different than anything you might imagine.
No object is actually "Transported." Instead, they are duplicated. A duplicate of the "Transported" object appears on the receiving end, with the original either remaining at the sending point or destroyed by the process.
Please keep in mind that I am not an engineer nor even an operator of complicated technology. As far as what you call a "Transporter" goes, I am not unfamiliar with such devices, and I do posses a rudimentary understanding of their workings, but not on a scientific level. My understanding would compare to the layman's understanding of an elevator amongst your species.
The name "Transporter" is a misnomer. These devices do not actually move objects from one location to another. Upon careful inspection this appears true even within your beloved Star Trek. They never say this explicitly, but it is implied. In Star Trek TNG, for example, it is revealed that there are two Will Rikers, both materialized from the same "Transporter" attempt. The implication being, of course, that "Transporters" can produce as many copies of a subject as one wishes, each and every one identical. This could not be the case if the "Transporter" was merely moving a person from one location to another, instead of replicating them. A second hint came in Star Trek DS9.
In one episode of Star Trek DS9 a Klingon agent modified a "Replicator" so that he could use it as a transporter. The two devices are described as similar, and in this way imply that a transporter is replicating a subject and not transporting them. This is how it is in real life.
On my planet we do have what you think of as "Transporter" devices, but they are rarely used, comparatively speaking. They require enormous sums of energy, far more than your species can ever dream of producing in a controlled fashion. After all, they are turning energy into matter (this is not completely true for all types of devices, but the details are long and I lack the proper engineering credentials to explain them all properly). And, the devices are useless as a mode of transportation.
If I "Transported" you on an actual device you would not go anywhere. Either you would remain at the sending point, or your body would be vaporized in the process. And, you would not appear on the receiving end either. A duplicate of your body would appear, yes, but it would lack your consciousness. It is my understanding that a true "Replication" of a living, thinking being has been achieved on an experimental basis, complete with unimpaired consciousness, but the impracticality of the system as a mode of transportation keeps the refinements from being disseminated. After all, you yourself would never actually travel anywhere, only a duplicate of you would, and such a technology would necessitate your death, otherwise the number of "You" would not only grow exponentially, but all of "You" would lay claim to your function and possessions.
I am sorry if I dashed anyone's fantasies.
Sorry, Earthlings
It seems appropriate that I explain why I have deactivated my "Ask" box. You must understand that although Tumblr here is my first experience with a social site, I am not new to the internet. I have participated in many textual exchanges with members of your species on what you call "Forums" or "Discussion Groups." In these discussions I have never concealed the fact that I am what you think of as an "Alien." I saw no need to. The more intelligent of your species will always recognize the truth and see the opportunity to converse with a superior being, while the less intellectually capable will naturally mistaken my honesty for a misguided attempt at jocularity.
It is my experience that members of your species, upon learning my identity, will immediately seek to test me. They will pose all sorts of questions, nearly all of them rooted firmly in the belief that one alien is in fact every alien to have ever visited the Earth, regardless of species or time index. Allow me to explain.
I have only been on your planet a few of your Earth years. I have never been to Roswell. I have no information on Betty and Barney Hill, Pyramids or Mayan calendars. I have never heard of any of these things before and it certainly would never have occurred to me to acquire information on these subjects, at least not from sources on my planet. I doubt such information exists. Although I do not claim to know everything or to have access to all information, it is doubtful that, given my function, I would be unaware of these events if they were true.
I function similar to one of your Ethologists. I do not require great access to nor a working knowledge of propulsion systems, weapons, medicines or any other technology unrelated to by duties. Yet, almost all questions communicated to me by members of your species pertain to these subjects.
Apparently no other species can exist unless each and every one of us is an expert on every conceivable technology in addition to being an active participant in every claimed abduction, and a frequent visitor to some "Area 51." At least going by the communications received from members of your species.
This is why I have disabled my ask box.
If there is interest I will solicit responses in the future.
Greetings, Earthlings!
This is my first post. I am new to "Social Sites," as your species refers to them, so I hope I do not make too many mistakes. I look forward to our future interaction.
