Ursa, who lied to Ozai about the true identity of Zuko’s father for selfish reasons, causing Ozai to hate Zuko and then she poisoned and killed Firelord Azulon before running away, leaving Ozai as the new Firelord of the most powerful nation in the world and then used a spirit to change her face and have all her memories of Zuko removed so she wouldn’t have to live with the knowledge that she left her children with an abusive parent and then married her ex boyfriend who she had an emotional affair with and now has a child with all while Zuko is now banished and living his worst life:

Most of this isn't true. Ursa suspected that Ozai was intercepting her letters to home, so she wrote a fake letter saying that Ozai wasn't Zuko's father. When Ozai confronted her about it, she knew that he really was spying on her and explained it was just a trick. Ozai really is Zuko's father. She never had an affair, emotional or otherwise.

And she didn't run away on purpose, she was banished for treason after killing Fire Lord Azulon. It's not like she had a choice. So she returned to her hometown and started a new life with her old boyfriend, but her pain was so great that the Lady of Faces (a spirit from the spirit world) offered to give her a new face and erase her old memories, which she accepted.

Ursa's story is great because, like all of ATLA, she's a full character who makes tough decisions that have real ramifications. She loved Zuko enough to kill Azulon (because he'd ordered Zuko executed) and save his life, even though it would mean leaving her favorite child. Everything she does after that is an understandable choice for a grieving mother. Could you really blame her for accepting a new face and new memories after all she'd been through? Maybe it wasn't the right choice, but I understand it and that's what makes ATLA so special

I am legit scared. ABS-CBN is not without its own political scandals and abuses but many people depend on it for work, not just the actors and actresses who are probably rich enough to go as they please, but the crew, the people who manually work on the set, the people who clean the halls of ABS-CBN. Where do they go now? Especially with the pandemic that leaves a lot of people without work? This is clearly a move done by the administration to shut out a network that is too big for them to control.

I work in marketing. Not only are they spending money on ads rather than paying employees more, they are cutting hourly employees hours, laying people off, furloughing people, and then forcing the remaining employees to work harder to get extra work done to create the "thank you" ads on top of their regular assignments. It's a real fun time to work in marketing.

Run by Magnus Hirschfeld, the Institute was a pioneering organisation which supported gay and transgender rights, and equality for women. Hirschfeld coined the term “transsexualism”, the Institute employed numerous transgender workers and it had begun offering the first modern gender affirmation surgery. A few days after the raid, the Institute’s huge library was burned in the streets while Joseph Goebbels delivered a speech. The Nazis then stepped up persecution of LGBT people, mass arresting gay men and trans women in particular and sending thousands to concentration, some of whom were forced to serve out their sentences by Allied authorities after “liberation”. i had to make a comic of this scene from the fic another step backwards, another step forwards by @cryinghour​ because it just took my breath away– i almost cried while rewriting the dialogue oh my god its so good!!! the entire fic is emotionally heartbreaking but so comforting and cathartic. 

i advise you to not read it if you aren’t in a stable place right now. it’s not all angst, absolutely not, but there are some parts that can sink their teeth into you if you’re vulnerable to it. 

either way, amazing fic. i love it to death. many, many kudos.
