Originally this blog was for growing chillies, tomatoes, sunflower and pak choi in urban UK. Now, it has evolved into an allotment. Photos and observations by someone with little experience of Growing in the UK.

First mange tout of the year.

Roasted squash with spicy quinoa. Squash roasted face down for 40 minutes with a little olive oil and salt. Quinoa is cooked, seasoned, then cucumber, tomato and bell pepper pieces mixed in with lemon juice and hot pepper sauce.

Found the perfect opportunity to plant the pumpkins last night. Two hours of digging in the rain and 8 pumpkins planted. The seeds have been particularly bad this year. I planted some squash seeds that don't look like they're going to pop up.
