Incidents of sexual assault and rape have been reported in New York, Cleveland, Dallas, Baltimore, Glasgow…sadly, the list goes on. It is an unfortunate reminder that even movements seeking a more just world, free from oppressive systems such as capitalism, are not inherently free from a culture of rape and violence against women and other marginalized populations, such as trans- people and those with disabilities.

“It has nothing to do with Occupy. It has everything to do with the problems in the world that Occupy is trying to eradicate,” says Laura Boyd-Clowes, a philosophy student at Concordia University. Boyd-Clowes has been actively organizing with the Occupy Montreal movement since it began.

“Let’s be clear. This is something that happens in society regularly and the Occupy movement is like a little microcosm for society,” she says.

Kicked Out?

I contacted the ACLU for advice on what to do about the transitional housing program and now the DICKtator is on me. Not that I'm surprised. I don't think she considered me any real threat until now. Rumor has it that someone called the ACLU (that would be me) who called the Board of Directors who called her.... who ranted why I was being such a thorn in their side.

Their trying to squeeze me out without my voucher that I'm available to get through LA Housing Section 8. The thing is, the more I think of it the more I don't care about it. With everything going on with NDAA and Occupy Movement becoming a real problem for the government, I don't want a secured one place only housing. I want an Rv or a van or a something that is movable.

But they know that. They think I'm bluffing or at least that is my guess. So the DICKtator is looking for reasons to kick me out. This time it was because my laundry wasn't inside one bag inside my closet and my art box was open...probably because I also didn't make my bed. OH HELL what a slob I am

So I straighten up the cube but I'm not a bed maker so will I be kicked out? I'll find out soon as I'm about to head back now.
