I’ll help you through this, and the first thing to do is to make an exit strategy. The most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive situation is when she decides to leave.

Tell anyone you can what’s going on because you need to build evidence for a no contact order (or restraining order). If you can, record or take pictures of what’s happening. Document everything and hide it!

Start stashing money. I used to rent a locker at a bus station and keep whatever I had in there. If that’s inaccessible, try zipping in a couch cushion, storing in a tampon, or hollowing out the sole of an old heel.

Write down people’s contact info and hide it

Get a burner phone. Hide it. Maybe ask someone you know at work to pick it up for you? I’m happy to donate money to make this happen. Ask management if you can keep it in the office? Or hide it as well.

Wait for a time you know KNOW he will be at work, with a friend, etc. Pack up what you need and go as far away as possible. Call your local domestic abuse support center (if you pm me your location I can stealthily get you the # so it’s not on your search history) and ask if there are advocates available. An advocate will help you legally. Don’t contact your local police because they will be of 0 help and may alert your partner that you’re running.

Stay with a trusted friend and hide hide hide until you get a no contact order. Get pepper spray or another type of non lethal weapon. I can mail you one when you are some place safe.

You will be ok. You will rebuild. You will find happiness and freedom again.

Idk I’m a sex worker because I’m poor. I cant afford to live and go to school without sex work. However that being said I’m privileged because I could lead a different (much worse) life without it. I think the existence of sex work came from a demand and supply world, however I agree that generally women are not sex workers because they are a feminist. Sex work has brought so many things into my life both good and bad, however at the end of the day, what weighs on me the most is the danger and fear of how society reacts. The actual work itself is enjoyable when people aren’t condescendingly telling me about who I am and what my job is. Sex work is empowering but that’s a side effect for only some people.
