do you ever have a conversation and think âI am not heterosexual enough for thisâ
has this been done
i think it's cute when americans talk about being from the 'great state of connecticut' or like 'the great state of wisconsin.' not when it's texas or new york or california obviously because then there's the fear that they're being serious. but when americans adopt that really earnest tone and are like 'god bless the great state of delaware' in response to a picture of a seagull swallowing an entire ziplock bag full of cheese-its. I think that's very endearing
you are all adorable
Historically, when performing long, repetitive tasks like churning butter or weaving cloth, people would sit together and tell stories. Folk stories, fairytales, and even stories about mysterious ape-like figures living in the forests. So, yes, pioneer women did listen to podcasts about bigfoot while churning butter

I hope she never finds out about the Netherlands.
What's so bad about "Netherlander"???
The only demonym I've ever heard for the Netherlands is "Dutch".
It plans to relaunch it with âhumor for good.â

Everyone's thinking "witch" but the owl was actually going as a cowboy.
Iirc the original images are from years ago, and everyone was worried that the owl was actually stuck to the toy - but apparently the townspeople had seen him put it down to hunt and such, and then go back to pick it up again. Which straight up triples my enjoyment of this story.

Radical idea but I think all vaccines should be free for everyone forever.
The tags on this post have informed me yet again that this is a fucked up American thing and that many other countries have completely free vaccines.
My friend teaches high school history and allowed his students to do their chapter summaries on their chosen biographies as originally created memes. He said that he had never had kids read so carefully to find the most obscure detail from chapters to make their memes. [pro-tip, for younger middle school/elementary school students, make a folder of popular meme templates, to avoid uncomfortable internet searches}
This reminds me of my class watching the 90s film and when it got to this scene some guy in my class shouted out âhoe donât do itâ and then 5 seconds later -sigh- âhe did itâ.
Shakespeare would have loved this đ
#honestly i think having students submit one meme per scene/chapter of a reading would get them wayyy more engaged#bc youâre looking to find smth funny in the text#which means youre looking for surprise youâre looking for inconsistency youre looking for contrast#youre doing a critical reading!
