“Gwen,” A gasp escaped her lips as she reached out for her friends hand, ignoring the pain it caused her. “I’m fine. It’s not me I’m worried about.” She’d heard of course, Emrys Abbott’s name was among the fallen. She’d known the boy, he was her best friend’s twin and her ex’s cousin and close friend. Celia had liked Emrys, even if he had stopped talking to her after Blaise broke up with her. “I heard what happened,” She murmured softly, “I am so sorry,”
Gwen held her friends hand gently, her expression falling at her words, though she nodded a bit as she reassured she was fine. She didn’t want to worry about herself, not right now. She’d spent enough time alone in the great hall thinking about herself, and now she felt terrible for it. She’d lost her brother, she knew that, and it hurt her a lot. Other people had been hurt or lost loved ones as well though, and she had to try her best to be there for those people. Especially people like Winnie and Celia. Blinking back some tears that had started to form, she let out a shaky breath. “I don’t know what to do, Celia,” she admitted. “I’m still finding it hard to believe he’s gone, and I,” she closed her eyes, taking in a breath so she wouldn’t just start breaking down. “I don’t know what to do without him.”
