I love this
i am on another plane right now and this video has me convinced that I reached nirvana for a few seconds
the first time i watched this video i was stoned out of my motherfucking MIND and i watched it on loop for 25 minutes
this is the only fucking post on this entire fucking site
I have been trying to find this video for like…a whole year
every time i look at the mystery gang i have this like visceral feeling that someone is missing. but nobody ever is. who are they. what happened to them
logically i know this is them. these are the only people in the mystery gang. fred, daphne, velma, shaggy, and scooby. thats the 5 of them. but something deep within my lizard brain is telling me theres a 6th member that has been, for unknown reasons, banished from this timeline and our collective memory as a species

Black women really are on another level 👑
👏👏👏👏👏👏
There is not one thing magical about this. She shouldn’t have to do this. Are y'all serious right now???? Like y'all should go read about how the father basically just shows up to sleep with her and she ends up pregnant again because she has a condition that makes her ovulate more than necessary and in turn her body rejects birth control and almost kills her. 😒 Quit calling black women that have to go through shit like this magical. Yes, she loves all her children, but the whole situation is stressful. Imagine the toll this takes on her body, and most of her kids hella young and can barely do for themselves. Stop calling these situations magical because she’s black and has no choice but to survive how she can with her kids, while the father does nothing.
I need a trustworthy gofundme for this woman. I’m going to look into this.
I need a way to support her MONETARILY, because using hand clap emojis to somehow applaud her for being hyper fertile and a man using her and leaving her isn’t cutting it. No.
Her GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/care-for-mariam-her-38-children
She is only asking for 10k and so far she is at $1,000. I am definitely donating some money.
There are some heartless comments in the notes calling her irresponsible and careless. Those people have obviously not taken the few minutes to watch this heart wrenching video.

She [Mariam Nabatanzi] was married off at 12 years of age after surviving death; allegedly at her stepmother’s hands who apparently pounded glass and mixed it in the food she gave Nabatanzi and her four siblings. Her husband is an absentee father & husband so she supports her children by doing odd jobs. At 39, Nabatanzi has 38 children whom she has delivered from home except the last born who is four months old. She was delivered by caesarean section. Among her children are six sets of twins, four sets of triplets, three sets of quadruples and single births. Ten of these are girls and the rest are boys. The oldest is 23 years old while the youngest four months. 20841954_1496518771.2705_funddescription Married off Nabatanzi breaks down when she recalls what she went through upon getting married. In 1993, she was married off to a 40-year-old man. “I did not know I was being married off. People came home and brought things for my father. When time came for them to leave, I thought I was escorting my aunt but when I got there, she gave me away to the man.” Starting a family Her father-in-law gave them a piece of land to start their family, a family for which she planned to have six children. In 1994, when she was 13, Nabatanzi gave birth to twins. Two years later, she gave birth to triplets and a year and seven months after that added a set of quadruplets. This, she says was nothing strange to her because she had seen it before in her lineage. “My father gave birth to 45 children with different women and these all came in quintuplets, quadruples, twins and triplets,” she says. Indeed, Dr Charles Kiggundu, a gynecologist at Mulago Hospital and President of gynaecologists and obstetricians, says it is very possible for Nabatanzi to have taken after her father. “Her case is genetic predisposition to hyper-ovulate (releasing multiple eggs in one cycle), which significantly increases the chance of having multiples; it is always genetic,” he explains. By her sixth delivery, Nabatanzi had had 18 children and wanted to stop, so, she went to see a doctor at Namaliili Hospital. The problem The doctor told Nabatanzi that she could not be stopped then because she had a high ovary count which would eventually kill her if she stopped. “Having these unfertilised eggs accumulate poses not only a threat to destroy the reproductive system but can also make the woman lose their lives,” Dr Ahmed Kikomeko from Kawempe General Hospital explains. “I was advised to keep producing since putting this on hold would mean death. I tried using the Inter Uterine Device (IUD) but I got sick and vomited a lot, to the point of near death. I went into a coma for a month,” she explains. At the age of 23 with now 25 children, she went back to hospital to try and stop. “I was checked in at Mulago Hospital and advised to continue producing since the ovary count was still high.” No way to stop? Kiggundu explains that women’s ovaries are at times suppressed and stopped from ovulating. “The suppressed eggs later pile up and are released at once and here, the higher the chances of fertilizing many eggs, the higher the chances of all of them dying, Nabatanzi was lucky,” he says. “She must have been super ovulating, releasing many eggs in a cycle.” He adds that Nabatanzi could have been helped if she had really wanted to stop producing, but some people are not well informed. At the birth of her four-month-old child who was delivered by C-section in December last year, she says; “I asked the doctor to stop me from more births and he said he had ‘cut my uterus from inside’. This was my only Cesarean delivery because I was still weak from the sickness I suffered when I tried to use an IUD.” Nabatanzi’s 25 years in marriage has been characterised by humiliation and torture. “I have been tortured countless times by my husband; he beats to the pulp when I try to reason with him over any issue, especially when he gets home drank. He does not provide for basic needs and welfare of the family; the children hardly know who he is since he is an absent father who gives his children names over the phone and not physically,” she says. Charles Musisi, 23, her eldest son says their father disappeared and they have grown up only with their mother’s love. “I can comfortably tell you that our siblings do not know what father looks like. I last saw him when I was 13 years old and only briefly in the night because he rushed off again,” he says, adding that they do not know the happiness of living with a father and they only rely on their mother as their both mother and father. Nabatanzi says her husband spends close to a year without coming home and when he does, he just sneaks into the house late in the night and leaves very early in the morning. “I carry these humiliations because my aunt advised me to always endure in marriage and have my children as the center of focus. She advised me not to produce children from different men.” The education challenge Nabatanzi is optimistic about seeing her children through school, something her father could not do for her. Despite being a Primary Two dropout, she has managed to educate her children. One of her first born twins has a certificate in nursing and the other in building although they have not found jobs yet. Nabatanzi’s five-year-old son who was diagnosed with a heart problem early this year worries her as she has to spend Shs120, 000 a week to buy him medicine. “In January, the doctors at Mulago Hospital advised me to raise Shs35m in nine months to have him taken to India for an operation. Since I do not have this money yet, I buy him medicine to help him cope in the meantime,” she says. Nabatanzi finds solace in her children as the family she never had while growing up. “I wish I could get a helping hand to help me with my children’s schooling, which is my major concern. I stopped looking to my husband for anything. I’m only focusing on raising my children and I am determined to do,” she explains. Home care The older children help with their siblings and the general home administration. “I enjoy taking care of my children myself though. My children are my joy and I pride caring for them. I cook, wash and bathe them with ease. Children grow better under a mother’s love and care,” she says. Health Nabatanzi says she delivers her children naturally and she has always felt fine after each delivery until her recent C-section birth after which she started to develop backache after doing some home chores. “My daughter who studied nursing used to take care of me during pregnancy. Eventually, I learnt how to do this, so I have not had any difficulties or complications with my pregnancies,” she explains.
This poor woman, please don’t romanticize her situation
if you need it again it’s https://www.gofundme.com/care-for-mariam-her-38-children
Please, if you can, PLEASE help Miriam.
Just thought I share
i can’t personally donate but please do if you can!!!
I get really mad at videos that romanticize horrible situations. I wish her and her children the best. Please donate if possible.
This is painful to watch because it tries to make her situation seem like a positive influence. Makes me nauseous.
Please, donate whatever you can.
can you guys read? it says that the gofundme isnt accepting anymore donations
There is now another gofundme, it appears to be legit so sharing the link, will look more into it when im not on mobile.

having a material lifestyle in accordance with your morals (eg buying fair trade coffee, going to farmers markets, composting) is admirable but it becomes concerning when people think those are the sole actions they need to take for their causes, when at the most, they are supplementary to presumably the real goal of social change. and they don’t make you morally superior to people who aren’t living life as “pure” as you are. capitalism is designed to keep those who are most oppressed by it, dependent on it. if you are able to break out of this cycle, it means you had the privilege to choose when others did not. direct your anger & moral outrage toward the capitalists that actually perpetuate that system, not toward someone who can only afford to go to wal-mart.

"You were sent this video because you either said or posted on social media the following statement. "More white people are killed by the cops than black people."
There's 191 million white people, 42 million Black people. You divide 191 by 42, and you find out there's 4.55 [times] as many white people as there are Black people.
So, in 2019, there was 370 white people killed by the cops. And, 370 divided by 4.5 will yield the number 82. That's how many Black people should have been killed by the cops if all things were equal, if it was proportionate.
However, there was 235 Black people killed by the cops. Divided by 82, the number it should have been, you'll find out that's a number 2.87 times higher than what it should have been.
There's three times as many Black people killed than white people by the cops, per capita. So there you have it. Now you understand the numbers, you understand what you were saying is wrong. You can stop saying that dumb shit. And always rem-"

Funny how that works
I am so pleased at how many notes are some version of “I don’t fear the science, I fear the corporations who control it” because that is EXACTLY the attitude you should have. GMOs can save us. Monsanto will kill us.
what people fear about GMO- ‘theyre gonna make frankencarrots that crave human flesh and cause diarrhea ’ what GMO actually is- ‘we made rice crop that is both drought resistant and flood resistant which will prevent about 20% of major famine disasters, also it now makes vitamin A because vitamin A deficiency in poverty stricken areas is a major killer of kids as most vitamin A rich foods dont grow there’ what people SHOULD be upset about- ‘i made all crops sterile so all farmers have to buy the seed from me in perpetuity and i will sue anyone who tries to go back to crops that produce their own seed’

Wait what's a buildings fire evacuation plan if you aren't supposed to use the elevator to get down
You go down the stairwell/fire escape. Is that weird?
But what if you have a walker or a wheelchair??
in america at least, in this situation, there isnt one. either your loved ones or the firemen can get you out using the emergency fire escapes or stairs, or you die
That's fucking horrific, thank you
“fun” little story:
last summer my friend who is an amazingly talented artist and i were in this super tall building, and she’s in a wheelchair and i’m pushing her around the room. it’s an art exhibit and some of her art was chosen to be showcased there and so it’s all fine and dandy until suddenly an alarm starts going off
a FIRE ALARM
everyone starts running for the stairs and my friend just looks at me with this forlorn look on her face
“i can’t go down the stairs”
but i’m a stubborn bitch “i’ll carry you”
“what about my chair? it’s too expensive for me to be able to get another one if i can’t get this one back”
“i’ll carry that too”
and i did. we went to the stairs (by then most people from our floor were gone) and i lifted her up in a fireman’s carry over my shoulder and then lifted her chair up and used the ridiculous amount of adrenaline that was coursing through my veins to make it down approximately 20 half-flights of stairs until we met some people exiting lower floors, one of which who kindly took the chair. I changed positions so i was holding my friend bridal-style which was, somehow, easier and the person who took her wheelchair (with her permission to handle it of course) accompanied me to the ground floor and then out the doors
basically there is no real protocol for people who can’t use the stairs in an emergency. it’s up to the people with them, if anyone, to help them or the person to somehow make it down the stairs alone, unassisted
thank fuck that it was just a faulty alarm system, because if i was unable to carry her down those stairs and the building was on fucking fire???? then i don’t know what would have happened to her, but i don’t think it would have been very good.
it’s fucking ridiculous and ableist to the absolute max.
I use a cane. When I did a day-long fire safety training at my northeast American university (UMass Amherst), I asked that exact same question: “what am I supposed to do if the fire alarm goes off and I’m in my lab on the twelfth floor?”
the fire marshal hemmed and hawed for a while and then said to take the elevator- you’re supposed to leave it free for the fire department to use and they want able-bodied people out fast not waiting for elevators. if the fire alarm has just gone off the building probably hasn’t suffered enough structural damage to make using the elevator dangerous, and modern elevator wells are heavily reinforced. many large and high-trafficked buildings on my campus have fire rated elevators that link in with the fire alarm system so they won’t let you off on a floor with a possible fire.
if the elevator isn’t working, wait in the stairwell and call the fire department to let them know where you are. modern stairwells are also heavily reinforced- it might not be pleasant but modern building code usually requires fire-resistant stairwell doors in office and big residential buildings, also to help firefighters get in and out safely. older buildings’ stairwells may or may not be retrofitted with fire-resistant doors but a stairwell is generally the safest place to wait if you can’t get out.
what happened to your friend was horrible, and i’m very glad you were there to help her out, but you can absolutely use the elevator to evacuate if it’s not shut down. those don’t-use-the-elevator rules are for abled people.
This is GOOD TO KNOW. why do they not tell people this??
When I was studying as a trainee for my current job, we had a drill like that. Let’s just say disabled people were not on anyone’s top priority to care for. One of my friends has mobility issues and couldn’t climb down the stairs. Her teacher was supposed to lead them to the staircase, in a certain zone, where a phone was so that she could reach out the firemen and they could reach her as well. Well, my friend was basically abandoned by her teacher and had absolutely no idea where she was supposed to go. She managed to reach the zone thanks to a helpful student. But the figure of authority that was supposed to care for her basically gave up on her entirely, which doesn’t bode well in case of a real emergency. If they already leave her behind in a drill, how is it going to happen in a real situation? Another classmate was deaf and none of the authority figures warned her that a fire alarm was going on. All that she was seeing were her classmates suddenly rushing to leave the classroom, without any perceptible reason. One of her classmates took the time to warn her, but no one else did. Can you imagine being in this situation and not knowing why everyone seems to rush out and starts to panic? Not knowing what to do, because the teachers are basically screaming the instructions, but you can’t understand them because you can’t read on their lips at the moment (she was a lip reader, btw. Not saying every deaf person is able or not to do so)? I’m myself autistic and can’t handle the noise of a fire alarm. I was a mess, trying to put on quickly my ear defenders, shaking and barely being able to walk. I was the last one of my class out. I was that close to fall on my knees and curl up because of the noise and everything else. No one made sure that I could follow the rest of the class. And certainly not the teachers.
If you’re a figure of authority facing this kind of situation, please, don’t forget your disabled students/employees/whatever. We’re the most vulnerable in this kind of situation.
