so it's been a full year since i started the ghost squad server and i can say with full certainty that this year would have been miserable without it. i have to call out my friends in public bc i love them all very much, so i'm just gonna tag them all :))

Do you ever think about how in Wake Up Julie sings “and I’ll use the pain ‘cause it’s part of me and I’m ready to power through it, gonna find the strength, find the melody, ‘cause you showed me how to do it” and by Stand Tall that’s exactly what she does? She thanks her mother because she’s using the pain of losing her, the memories she has of her, the love and grief she still holds for her to power through it and perform with strength because Rose showed her how to do it even when she wasn’t there. Not only that, but the way it relates to the boys too - they showed her how to fall in love with music again. She performs for them as well, knowing they helped her find the melody once again. She really comes full circle, huh.

one thing i love love love about wake up is how she goes from "and you use your pain, cause it makes you you" to "and i use the pain, cause it's part of me" like she goes over the course of the series from being defined by the pain of losing her mom to being defined by her love of music. and yeah, the pain of her mom is in there, but so is the love for her dad and brother and mom and so is her feelings for luke and so is her love for her phantoms and so are her feelings about flynn and so are her feelings about carrie and-

Willie really is the patron saint of L.A Skaters. 

I bet he keeps using his tricks to get skaters out of trouble with the law all the time. Like does it so often that he becomes like some sort of legend. 

Or do you think he already was a legend and when he died and his skater friends keep his memory alive, and they swear that every time they miraculously got out of trouble or out of harm’s way that it was Willie looking after them? 

(Especially since Willie getting run over may be because he was trying to save his skater friends from suffering the same fate- just a theory). 

The stories spread and it becomes a local legend over the years. Little shrines and rituals in dedication of ‘Silver Helmet’, guardian angel for skaters, pop up every now and then.

Okay BUT

1. Imagining there being graffiti respecting Willie is precious

2. What if this is how he got hooked into the HGC? Like Caleb saw him as a threat because he had this whole community looking up to him and that he was protecting. And yes, skating is his passion but what if that’s not all Caleb meant by “taking that away from you”? Not only would he punish him like the he was the boys, but he would be taking his protection away the skaters of LA.

Hi! I actually have some warnings about buying merch from Etsy! Please read!

While Esty and Redbubble do have a ton of designs, it is important to note: there are a lot of people selling designs with art they do not have permission to use. 

For example, if you search jatp on either site, the iconic ghost design shows up almost immediately. This piece was designed by arttavern on Instagram, and popularized after Carolyn Shada drew her own version (with permission from the original artist). This pieces has constantly been stolen and sold without the artists consent, to the point where Shein is selling a t shirt with the stolen design (Trust me, I wish I was kidding about this). At this point, it’s been spread too far to try and stop it. 

Additionally, there was the sunset curve coffee poster, drawn by mariexdrawings on insta, that was stolen and uploaded to Redbubble almost immediately after it was posted. There are also countless stickers designs that were traced/stolen from the original artists. Just ten minutes ago, when I went to check etsy for this post, I saw someone selling a tracing of lovelyrugbee’s perfect harmony drawing. 

So please, please please  use caution when buying from these sites. If you see a piece with a design you like, please try to make sure you are buying from the original artist, and not someone trying to profit off their work. A lot of artists do sell their pieces on those sites however, and usually have their shops in their linktrees! If anyone ever needs help verifying the seller, please do not hesitate to DM me. I’m always happy to help take down an art thief. 

Also, I know hot topic sells quite a lot of Jatp merch, including a very snazzy Sunset Curve hoodie I bought for a friend’s birthday!

tl; dr: Please be careful buying JATP merchandise from sites like Etsy and Redbubble, as a lot of it uses stolen art.
