Super peripheral in light of the recent episode, but do you ever suddenly get hit with the thought of how Hailey and Jay show up to places, like a crime scene, together? Because they’re in the same place when they get the call.

Because they’re married.

And they’re probably doing something domestic like watching Netflix or cooking dinner or sleeping when they catch a case in the middle of the night.

And it’s just…it’s really nice.

Some people make it so clear that they only care about upstead as a ship because they complained more about the lack of their cute scenes instead of acknowledging the growth in Haileys character. she stayed calm and focused, she’s didn’t spiral and didn’t do anything illegal. She’s trying to be the best version of herself in part thanks to Jay always making sure she’s not alone and he has her back. And letting her know that he’s there with her. If the ship is good is because of the characters playing it.

This episode was truly a Hailey centric, and while y’all know I love Upstead, seeing Hailey take control and really shine was absolutely everything. The way she held herself and made the right decisions by herself and for herself without anyone whispering in her ear is everything we wanted since the Roy fiasco. Like you said, Upstead is a ship, but the characters that make up that ship are two independent characters, and they both deserve to have their own moments.

We don’t know what will happen in 9.13 but imagine Jay arriving to the hospital, the river or wherever and be like: “Where is my wife?!”, “She is my wife!”, “We need to find my wife”.

You have no idea how much I’m gonna fangirl listening to Jay refer to Hailey as his wife, or call himself husband like “I’m her husband let me pass” Yaaa! I’m fangirling already!!

i've been reading all the fanfics about 9x08 continuation. all of them tho have something common tho. they all consist of jay telling hailey what happened. but what if he doesn't? i know the real jay will tell her but the writers are the writers. and jay has finally seen hailey dealing with things maybe he doesn't want to add to her plate even if it's not the right thing to do.
