so @mangledpuppet made this post asking if this was drew sarich in 'tanz der vampire'
and i'm here to say yes it is and i have videos! i wanted to add this as a reblog but you can't upload videos in a reblog of someone elses' post so i hope making a new post is okay!
it's from the 2009 vienna revival. he took over the role from thomas borchert before that production ended in 2010. as someone else said in the replies of the original post, they never ended up having him fly in the actual production as far as i'm aware. i've never seen any photos of videos of thomas borchert flying so i don't know if they tried this with thomas and didn't follow through and then tried again with drew and didn't follow through. or if they introduced this idea for drew and then didn't end up including it.
here's a trailer for the 2010 revival once drew took over the role, there's a couple shots of him flying in this
can't post more than one video in a post anymore turns out so here's a link to where you can watch the trailer: vk.com/video-9610195_159404875
but better than that, there's a behind the scenes video of drew learning to fly (which i found some years ago on the 'tanz der vampire 'tanz der vampire (wien)' facebook page, they posted it in 2011.
i don't know why this screenshot in particular is so funny to me, it's like he's descending to greet the people
given the outfit is what he wears in the finale (of the kentaur re-staged productions) and the backdrop seems to be the outdoor scene where alfred and sarah are before the final number i wonder if krolock would have flown right before the start of the final number?
here's concept art of the wings:
and i'm sure i have this trailer somewhere but it's late and i couldn't find it but i do have a gif of it
there he goesss.
i hope this was interesting and not annoying to tag you in
