The next time someone tries to argue with you about “disrespecting the flag/troops by kneeling” show them this.
Also, the hand goes over the heart during the salute (which is very recent as an addition) while the anthem is sung with hats removed, no hand over heart.
I’m not much of one for caring about arbitrary symbols, but don’t have etiquette if you’re not going to observe it properly, while you scream about others who do.
It’s. It’s Bethesda, isn’t it
I knew that was coming
Unless they going to have something like an oyster card and send it to every person in New York City they can save this shit

Reminder that Net Neutrality is being repealed on April 23rd, but also
• There’s only 1 vote needed to override this decision, keep calling congress and your senators!
• Many states are introducing bills that would prevent the rollback from affecting them, but we need to make sure all of the USA isn’t affected
• What the FCC is doing is illegal
Keep fighting and don’t give up yet!
Also to add
The FCC is being sued by a bunch of companies and state governments over their process to strip Net Neutrality, with the lawsuits getting bigger each month. Recently the video game industry via the ESA has joined the “save Net Neutrality” team in these lawsuits. And with the amount of lawsuits happening over this, the actual repeal process might be delayed even further while these cases are happening.
If the congress calls don’t work, voting is the next big step. With mid-terms this year, and the next big election in 2020, you can vote out the people against Net Neutrality and vote in people who would save the net. Keep in mind of all the special elections and local elections within these two years, as well as 2019. Every little bit helps with getting Net Neutrality saved, or revived down the line, or getting these state bills successfully becoming law.
history fucked me up
oxford was built and operational as a college before the rise of the mayans and cleopatra lived in a time nearer to pizza hut’s invention than to the pyramids being built
I need a noncomprehensive history book that covers Known World History in time periods, like “in this century, all this shit was happening concurrently” and not just all spread out so I have to piece it together like some unpaid uneducated scholar
Mongols were fighting Samurai in Japan and Knights in Europe at the same time.
Star Wars a New Hope came out the same year as the last execution in France by Guillotine.
Abraham Lincoln and Edgar Allen Poe were friends in their early 20′s.
When the Great Pyramids were being built there were areas that still had Woolly Mammoths roaming.
Harvard University didn’t teach calculus in its first few years after being established because calculus wasn’t invented yet.
the book / tv show you’re looking for is Connections by James Burke, he is a science historian and this sort of stuff is exactly what he goes into.
He also did a lesser-known show called “The Day The Universe Changed,” which is about paradigm shifts. Pretty good stuff.
