I'm going to go out on a limb, just because this keeps coming up on my dash, but no one can really stop minors from accessing whatever they want anyway. And even then, I can confirm that this roo wouldn't have anything that would be 18+ on there. If you want to voice about minors seeing explicit content being a problem or should be stopped, go help a real organization that does such, otherwise you are only yelling at some random person on the internet about their personal views, morals, or choices, which helps no one.
That is a loaded question for me. I guess overall, it's going alright, though it's Christmas season and I work retail, which has been draining me heavily. I'm also going through the process of applying for university. A part of me would very much like to be active again on here, but I still can't manage the time, and after being diagnosed with depression, I'm focusing on getting through the days while they are hard. Thank you for asking, you are an absolute sweetheart. Take care of yourself.
Now we are in full swing for what I consider part two of CBF. I’ll be trying to keep up on getting chapters out, but there is also a chance they will get a little longer, so it’ll take some more time to get them done.
Spark grumbled as they walked, hands deep in his pockets as he glanced at the trees around them, “This seems a bit out of town. You sure this is a good idea?”
Grey glanced back and nodded, “Yes, Rose likely had something ready in case things turned south. He usually thought ahead.”
Blue felt tense. He hadn’t been out this way before, but he knew Vio had been held there and suffered horribly, but also where their leader had lived. He couldn’t stand how torn he had gotten over the bastard. Roseby. He was a bad person, simple, yet it seems to have gotten tied up with the events of the past few weeks. He glanced at Azure and Gold. They seemed to be chatting, lack of any real sign of concern from either of them. Ashen had stayed behind to watch the injured, regardless of her protests that she should also see her brother’s home.
In less than a day the house already felt like a tomb as they looked at it, no one moved for some time. Gold stepped forward a bit and looked over them, “I know it’s terrible, but he was your friend. He probably wanted us to be here now.”
Grey sighed and opened his mouth, but Blue was already speaking, voice raised, “He killed people. He did so many damned things that would cause people to run or kill him. He was no friend of mine.”
Gold looked at him without flinching, smile turning a bit more somber, “I get a feeling there is a group that really does care for him, despite his flaws. And a friend doesn’t have to be good all the time, just be able to be good and change to help and be helped.” He turned, the other’s a bit lost to say anything else.
Grey looked over at Azure as if to ask what that had been, but Azure only shrugged as if to say he was just as lost, Spark not seeming to pay much attention to it, as if it’s too common for him to be bothered. They walked up to the door, Grey took the knob, and turned, expecting it to be locked, instead opening up with ease.
Grey looked back a bit concerned, “I get the feeling he’s not the kind of guy to leave his home unlocked, be careful.”
A few nods and murmurs responded before they slowly walked in. It seemed very plain and normal, couches for a living area, kitchen clean and visually spotless, the only real blemish on the rooms at first glance was a singe on the wall, but they were aware of the events for the scar on the interior. Gold moved and sat on one of the couches, looking around with a look of wonderment, but most of the group had already dismissed his attitude. Spark leaned on the wall, not seeming to offer much in the form of help besides being a lookout. Blue moved into the kitchen, Azure deciding to follow after, not completely sure of where to go.
Grey began to move down the hall deeper into the house, a strange feeling as he moved in, both of fear and also peace. He had been told that Roseby had been in the war, maybe a part of him sympathized with Roseby more than the others, simply for understanding the past. He wondered if he could have slipped down the same path as Roseby if things had been any different or if he had held onto malice for those in the war.
He shook his head, those thoughts weren’t going to help him now, and concerning himself with the motives of a dead man would do him no service. He opened the door to the left finding a staircase leading downward into a dim cold corridor. He quickly closed it and took some quick breaths, he knew what was down there, and wanted nothing to do with it. He looked at the other door in the hall, moving over and turning the knob.
Walking in he was surprised at what he saw, not for anything horrible or strange, but for the fact it seemed so normal. A normal bedroom. He saw a desk and walked over, breath freezing in his throat a moment when he was a trinket lying on the desk, but let out a sigh as he calmed. A human relic, and a royal ensigned one. He didn’t know where Roseby got it, but there was clearly quite the story behind it, and one that will never be told again. He looked away at last seeing a sealed envelope on the table, smooth signature reading, ‘Allies’. Grey lifted and opened, taking in the letter and the room a bit longer.

Blue groaned as Azure tossed another pan haphazardly to the floor, “Would you stop doing that already?”
Azure looked over a bit taken aback, “Mate, it’s faster to just toss it aside.”
Blue placed a hand on his forehead as he spoke slowly, “It’s loud, obnoxious, and damaging to both the floor and the items. So would you just stop?”
Azure looked him up and down, “I really can’t get a bloody read of you. One second you ‘ate Roseby, the next you want to do whatever the ‘ell you can for the guy.”
Blue snarled, flames jumping a bit when a cough was heard to the side. Everyone looked over, a cold calming passing over the room as if a winter’s gust had passed through the walls. Grey gently lifted the open letter saying he found what they had been looking for.
Grey seemed a bit dimmer, clearing his throat, “It’s a lot, but he seemed to have thought ahead.” Blue opened his mouth, but Grey cut him off, “I’ll read it out:
Comrades,
If you are reading this, then I’m dead. If I would have returned home, this note would have been burned. I felt something could have gone very wrong in our meeting, something about those two and how relaxed they are about the situation leads me to believe they will get someone killed, likely me. I won’t blame their ignorance, I knew we needed more help, and if things went wrong, I apologize for my mistakes.
However, finding this note means you have not yet given up. I don’t know who will still be with, but I trust that Grey will find what comes hard. If the information I’ve found is true, he has a long since forgotten connection with one of the enemy.--”
Grey took a breath at that looking at the page for a moment, taking in that Roseby decided not to warn him, but also understanding that if Roseby had said anything, Grey might have tried to reason with Jade. It was for the best he didn’t know. He took in a slow break, continuing the note.
“All my tools and weapons are your’s to use to help. I understand if you don’t want to touch them, but they might also be required. At this point, you likely all know what we face, if you need extra help, I have an old friend in waterfall by the name of Azure. He’s likely to lend a hand.”
The group looked up at Azure, who raised hands in surrender, “Bugger, ‘kay, so I knew Roseby. We ‘ad met in the war, and he didn’t seem that bad. I know he had his darker side, but ‘ell, I didn’t see much of it. The war did it’s damage to everyone, you can’t blame him.”
Grey nodded, and before anyone could respond to Azure, he went to finish the letter.
“I want to request that someone be sure a girl named Ashen is safe. She’s in hotland, though she travels all over the underground. Whatever you do, don’t let her get involved. She has no fighting ability, and cannot know who I was.
I have faith in this group, I wouldn’t have worked with you if I didn’t trust your motives and personas.
With best of luck, Surrexit Roseby Sana.”
Blue folded his arms and looked at Grey, “Surmexit Suma?”
Azure shook his head, “Surrexit Sana. I heard him say once or twice that Roseby wasn’t his actual name, but I thought he was just going mad.”
Gold tilted his head, “Mad? Like he was getting angry?”
Blue groaned, “No, like going crazy. I swear you’re the one mad around here. You keep rambling things that don’t add up.”
Gold smiled, giving a thumbs up, “They add up somewhere, don’t worry.”
The group kept going on, mostly about things unrelated to the madness around them, but Grey just stared at the page, rereading the part he didn’t read aloud.
‘Grey,
I didn’t realize at first meeting, but after some time, I got a feeling I had known you from somewhere. After looking into it, I found why that was, and why you don’t remember yourself. The war, after you had escaped that prison the humans kept you in, we met. I was trying to go A.W.O.L. when they dragged me back and entrusted me to help you in a shattered mental state. I don’t know if this will jog your memory at all, maybe you won’t consider these words, but you are the only one I trust with this now. I don’t feel anyone else that could be left would understand what a war between humans and monsters would truly bring except you. I don’t want to ask this of you, knowing the pain this fight has likely already caused, but I’m going to anyway.
Save this world, Grey. I was never fit to be a hero anyway.’
The group jumped as the paper in Grey’s hands were engulfed in flames and quickly scattered to the floor as ashens. Grey looked over them, eyes harder than they had been before, “Let’s collect what we need from here and move out. We don’t know if anyone will come looking here for anything. We’ll burn it down.”
Azure stepped forward, but shut his mouth and nodded, the other’s not moving to say anything. Grey moved into the basement, no longer feeling fear for any of it. He was ready to finish what he had already agreed to take part in.
Sorry for being gone for so long, things got a bit.....well, crazy over the last while for me. New job, therapy started, moved to a new house, and started training for a Pro Overwatch team. I’ve gotten dizzy trying to run around all of this, so Tumblr got put on the back burner. I might not be very active still, but my goal is to try and get these chapter updates at least semi regulated so I can finish and move onto my next project. Thanks to everyone who is still here, love you guys <3
Silence. They were all waiting, but it wasn't the reason for the quiet. The air felt like a thousand knives hung around them, waiting for the slightest twitch of movement or sound to cut it short. No one could tell how long it had been like that, all they knew was the screaming had stopped some time ago. Blue had hunched over in the corner, not making a sound or movement even when Teal and Flare had finally arrived, dimming as the story was told to them of what had happened.
Grey was frozen, even his flames only seemed to move if you looked closely. He seemed to have taken it the hardest of the remaining group. The medical clinic they were sheltering in was small, but their numbers had been cut enough it wasn’t a problem. Quiet metal against metal was heard before a door opened, Grey the only one to jump up and look over.
Ashen gave a worn smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes, which looked tired as hollow. She moved cautiously and slowly into the room, holding her hands close to her before taking a slow breath, “Scar will be alright. We were able to patch up the wound, but the arm couldn’t be saved.” She looked down, unable to look them in the eyes after the news she had to deliver.
Blue finally moved by turning to look at her, “So he’ll live.” He sighed and snarled to himself, “Not like he has anything left now.”
Ashen flinched and curled into herself at the words, jumping when a hand gently took her shoulder from behind. She looked over and saw a firmly burning navy fire elemental, giving her a small smile to help calm her, “Don’t worry, you did what you needed.” He turned to the rest of the group stepping before Ashen, “Carmine and Violet are resting in the patient room, Scar will rest in the surgery room until he wakes.”
Grey sighed and stood, “Thank you again Azure. If you and Ashen hadn’t let us in and helped, he might be dead now.”
Azure looked down with a frown, folding his arms, “Don’t thank me on that yet. He’s still not completely out of the woods, and I can’t speak for his mental health.” He looked back up at Grey with a head shake, “What have you gotten yourself into this time?”
Grey gave a weak smile and chuckle, “You’re the one that causes problems, remember. You always called me.”
Azure brightened fully with a smile, “Alright, you got me there, mate. So I do owe you a favor or two.”
Blue stood suddenly and glared at their gentle conversation, his words burning the lightness in the air, “This isn’t a friendly get together. People are dead, and we very well could be next.”
Grey dimmed again and nodded, tightening the grip on his cane to keep from shaking, “You’re right, but if they wanted us dead, we already would be. They won’t be on the attack until we make another move.”
Teal jumped up, voice crashing through making everyone notice even Blue had been quiet with his outburst, “Then we don’t. Enough people are dead already. We were following a killer remember.”
Grey stood tall against him, seeming more stable than even his normal, “He was a good person, and was trying to protect everyone. He warned us this could happen. This is war after all, people die, even those close to you.” His voice trailed off toward the end as he remembered the faces he saw. One of which he thought was nothing, but a memory.
Flare looked down in defeat, his brother quickly continuing with a step forward, his flames bright, “I can’t do this anymore, I didn’t agree to this level of senseless violence. I have a family. I’m not going to lose them like….” His voice and flames both suddenly died down, the room returning to the chilling silence from before.
Teal finally turned away and scowled, voice barely a whisper, “I’m out.” The room jumped at his words, shocked, but he looked back up and spoke louder, “I’m out. I can’t do this. If you want to, fine, but leave me and my family out of it.”
Azure looked ready to voice a slew of words at him, but Grey raised a hand and shook his head at his dark flamed friend. Grey looked over to Teal and nodded, “Go. I don’t want anyone innocent hurt from this point. We can fight this ourselves.”
Teal looked at a loss for words, but slowly shut his mouth and nodded. He looked to Flare who glanced up, pain in his eyes before standing and nodding to the others in respect. A cold sense of dread filled the air as they walked to the door and began to walk out. Flare seemed to pause for a moment as if wanting to speak, but quickly left instead. The door closing behind them felt like the harshest noise they had heard since arriving.
Azure looked over at Grey with a frown, but concern in his eyes, “Are you sure about that? You’re already badly out-numbered.”
Grey looked over with a seemingly confident smile, “I am. It would only put more lives in danger if one of our own was second guessing themselves anyway.” Azure nodded, not letting it be seen he noticed the pain and fear in Grey’s eyes and the tense way he held his cane.
Azure groaned and walked behind the counter, seemingly off in his own world for a minute. Ashen tried to give a bright smile to help lighten their spirits, “Well, I’m no fighter by any means, but I can do what I can to help you when things go wrong.”
Blue seemed to soften slightly toward her, maybe it was what she had been through, or how optimistic she was despite it, “You should keep away from us after this. It’ll only be more dangerous if you stay.”
She smiled more confidently, “If my brother trusted you, then so do I. And I get the feeling I’ll be safer staying close than at a distance.” She looked down at her hands, nervously rubbing them together now. Only at this point did Grey and Blue notice the pale blue dust lightly on her fingers.
Blue dimmed and nodded, not having it in him to continue speaking anymore. Grey pointed to her hands, “He is alright I thought?”
Ashen trembled slightly as she thought about it, putting a hand up before either of them could dismiss her from speaking, “It wasn’t a normal wound. As you know it was with that strange blade, so we couldn’t just wrap or heal it.” Grey nodded and Blue slumped a bit, trying not to let know he was listening closely. She took a slow breath, “We had to clean away the infected part of the wound, and…..” She dimmed down and closed her eyes, voice equally low, “We had to use water to burn away the outer part of the injury.”
Grey’s hand slowly dropped, Blue’s hands beginning to claw into his skin without him noticing. The thought of forcing Scar through that intense pain, knowing he might not even find something to live for anymore. Grey was somber. Blue was enraged.
Blue looked over at them, voice dark, “That bastard will pay. We are going to take him down.”
Ashen seemed concerned, but Grey looked up, a cool determination in his eyes, “Yes. And they will pay with interest.”
Ashen thought such words would make her scared, but something about seeing that life in Grey’s eyes made her smile. Her long time friend seemed to find a drive for something he hadn’t had in years.
Azure suddenly jumped over the count causing the others to jump. He shrugged as if to dismiss them and smirked. Grey seemed concerned about this and gave him a wary glance as he spoke, “I get the feeling you’ve done one of those stupid things you do.”
Azure waved a hand at him, “Come on, mate. I only ‘ave the best ideas. And I know you really needed this one.”
The three jumped again as a knock was heard on the door, Azure chuckling to himself as he called out into the silence, “Come on in.”
The door burst open, an energetic bright flame of golden yellows sparkling with energy, an electric elemental behind him, sighing as he looked at Azure.
The golden flame elemental jumped in, not quite cheering or singing as he spoke, yet both at once, “Doc! It’s been too long since you even talked to us. And now you have an adventure, what a surprise! And so many new friends too!”
Grey gave a weak smile while Blue seemed between floored and loathing. The electric elemental looked over them all and huffed, folding his arms closing his eyes with a frown.
Azure smiled at them, taking the flame’s hand and shaking, “Gold, ‘ey, good to see you too. Spark also seems as energetic as always.”
They shared a quick laugh over the words when Blue cleared his throat. He groaned and pointed at the two arrivals, “Explain.”
Azure smirked, “You need some new people, so I called in the reinforcements.”
Spark sighed and looked at him, “Idiot. I’m going to regret this aren’t I?”
Azure shrugged and waved for them to sit, “Let’s catch you up, then get started on this adventure, shall we.”
Gold brightened and mentally cheered, happy to be added to the adventure and story.
why can´t a see your draws and reablog on my account? ;-; i was jsut saying you weren´t active, but you are!
I've been mostly inactive, lots of life kicked me in the teeth recently and it was easier at the time to do an unannounced hiatus. I'll try to be back, but I'll still be a little in and out for awhile, but updates should be happening again. Thanks again for the concern, sorry to make you worry, and thanks for still being around.
Britain voted to leave the EU and immediately after the results were in everything started going haywire. My entire twitter feed is full of people talking about how the US stock market is feeling it, the yen is dropping & japan has stopped trading for now, etc.
So most people in the world will have an existential crisis at some point in their life. Usually over their place in the world, or the vastness of space itself.
I have just spent an hour listening to someone fall apart and go into crying hysterics as their world fell apart….
Because of Nerds Ropes.
They have felt that it was more likely that the world was ending, or that I traveled through time, or even that this was some trans-dimensional dream, over that I had a nerds rope in my hand and planned on sending them 10 because it was their favorite candy.
Nothing in my life could have prepared me for this moment, but nothing will ever top having someone question god because of an overly sugary candy.
