Katakuri is 48 years old, so what if he actually acts like it? (headcanons below the cut)

he uses readers to read books because he can’t see up close very well anymore. they’re custom made for him and very comfortable. he keeps them nestled in his forearm via mochi.

he regularly reads nonfiction about architecture. finds it relaxing. it fascinates him and gives him inspiration on how to build his mochi structures in creative new ways. his primary fascination is wano architecture, as he enjoys imitating the shape of a hogyo styled roof.

he has worked on some architectural/carpentry projects on komugi island because he prefers to do things himself. he also enjoys gardening, baking, and miniature crafting. he has a lot of little hobbies he’s quite good at but you’d never know. he doesn’t really talk about it.

after years of training he’s become quite good at knowing what his limits are, but this doesn’t mean he’s invincible. he occasionally gets injured during training, but it’s only because he tests his ability to react without observation haki. he would never admit to it, however.

he also sometimes get neck and back aches from sleeping standing up. it was bound to happen. again, he’d never openly admit it. the facade that he’s perfect benefits him and his family, so the truth can be concealed.

the donuts he gets for merienda are custom ordered. this is partially because his digestive system isn’t what it used to be, so the chefs expertly supplement his treats with fiber and protein. they assume this is part of some sort of special training diet. but really he just struggles with digestive issues, sugar is power but sugar also needs to be supplemented by nutrients to maintain some level of regularity.

his control over his image also extends to control over his environment. if someone changes the temperature in his office he will immediately notice and find who did it.

actually has some strange odds and ends stored inside his body (to later be stored in his residence) because it “could be useful someday.” he’s not wrong. sometimes he has just the exact random thing for the job, and that’s what makes him perfect.
