okay not the interviewer in that recent prh interview saying that tlkof ends on a cliffhanger
I hate when she does that. I donāt think Iāll be able to survive a year if she leaves the book on a cliffhanger. Especially if the cliffhanger is something crazy which it probably is.
am i truly to believe there is no benedict lightworm fanart. not even a little
I need one of Benedict doing the worm and Cecily mid air ready to strike and Tessa sitting grumpily to the side in a wedding dress ļæ¼
That would be so perfect
Cassandra Clare never "promised" anything.
An author is allowed to go in a different direction with a book she hadn't even started writing yet when she first started talking about it.
Cassandra Clare is a non-autistic author writing from the POV of an autistic character. She has said before that she doesn't even want to release snippets from Ty's POV without having them reviewed by sensitivity readers (which many of you seem to have forgotten in your constant demands for Ty snippets). I think it makes sense for her to decide not to make him a main POV in the book (if that's even the reason. It may very well not be).
He'll still be a main character.
Keep in mind that this is only the first book. Remember in TID when Jem didn't have a POV up until a certain point because he had secrets that the reader wasn't supposed to know yet?
Stop treating authors like your own personal vending machines. It's her book to write, you're just reading it.
Sometimes trying to convince people to keep reading The Mortal Instruments/The Shadowhunter Chronicles after reading City of Bones feels like Iām recruiting for an over complicated pyramid scheme.
This is such a relatable issue. Like I need them to read it so that we can chat about it, but the incest plot makes that so hard.
TLKOF SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO START THE BOOK WITH NO SPOILERS
He still resembled Jace. The same golden hair, tousled into curls, the same sarcastically curled mouth. But he wore a golden mask now that covered his eyes and nose, a half-mask, carved to look like the proud and deadly face of a hawk.
Dru heard Clary make a noise, a sort of strangled gasp. Maybe because this man, this stranger, looked so much like Jace. Maybe because a heavy crossbow, of clear faerie workmanship, was braced against his shoulder, its bolt trained squarely on Druās chest.
OMG Janus is back !!!!!!! Noooo donāt hurt Dru. Whatās going on. Why is Janus trying to kill Dru. Hostage situation? Seelie queen orders? Part of Janusās plan?
I donāt know if I can wait till next year!!!!!
The Necessity of Livvy Blackthornās Death
Not only does Ty Blackthorn need to accept Livvyās death and let her goāsome fans do, too.
It baffles me how certain readers still insist Livvy should be brought back, when the series has made it abundantly clear that the central theme here is the need to accept death. Every attempt to defy it has consequences. Even Jaceās resurrection carried a devastating cost that nearly destroyed the Shadowhunters.
And letās be clear: Jesse Blackthorn is not an argument in favor of bringing Livvy back. Jesse never fully died, and Lucy never performed necromancy. In fact, Lucy herself recognized how dangerous necromancy wasāshe was even prepared to kill Jesse when she discovered he was being used in a string of murders.
The series consistently frames necromancy as corrupting and wrong, and Tyās refusal to accept Livvyās death is portrayed as a flaw, not a virtue. His single-minded determination to bring her backāwithout regard for Kitās feelingsāultimately drove a wedge between them. What Ty truly needs is to let go and recognize that he can still be brilliant, strong, and whole without Livvy. Learning to live with the death of a loved one is painful, but itās also universalāand thatās what makes Tyās journey so powerful and relatable.
I completely agree with this take. I definitely believe that by the end of TWP, Ty is going to have to let livvy go.
I JUST SAW THE NEW SNIPPET. I donāt think I can wait for the book. I have so many questions. Why was Kit tied up and who followed him? Also Iām glad Livvyās ok or as ok as a ghost can be. I NEED THE TLKOF NOW
Cassandra Clare I am in your WALLS she is so killing magnus bane this isnāt fucking funny anymore
ā¦thinking about the end of everything destroys meš
How have I not seen this before??
I refuse to accept it being Magnus dying - I have my head canon and I just do not want to consider a novel where Alec is balancing raising two children solo AND trying to bring his husband back to lifeš
Although does confirm we wonāt see teenage Max & Rafael
Iām so confused where is everyone getting the idea that Magnus is gonna die šššš. I donāt think Iāll be able to cope with his death.
So Iāve seen the opinion on Christopher where people donāt think heās a good friend because of how easily he forgave Grace (Iām not hating on this perspective just putting mine out there). I think a major part of the reason that Christopher forgives Grace so easily is because itās the first time that he finds someone whoās just like him. Donāt get me wrong Christopherās friends are all great but none of them understand him. When Christopher starts to explain to Grace about the equipment in the lab he immediately stops himself because āitās Boringā. This just shows other than Henry heās never been able to talk about the things. Grace is the first time heās able to openly talk about what he loves to someone his age, knowing that they want to hear about it and are interested. Plus Christopher definitely cares about James. I mean most of the time when the merry thieves try to keep Grace away from James, itās always Christopher who steers her away from James, proving that when James might actually get hurt Christopher stops Grace. When Christopher does forgive Grace sheās no longer harming James. My memory might be a bit off but I remember that in the books when Grace and Christopher first interact normally Itās not too long before the gracelet breaks. When he does fully forgive her the gracelet has already broken. I donāt think thereās anything wrong with Christopher forgiving someone that finally gets him, while they are no longer hurting his friend. Christopher has seen her real personality and understands her. A lot of Characters in books have been forgiven because the reader understands their actions such as Jordan and Alastair. Itās not that different from Christopher now understanding Grace and forgiving her. If you have trouble understanding Christopher then good for you because that means youāve never experienced not being understood by anyone. Please donāt take this offensively if you donāt agree. Itās just an opinion and I understand everyone might not agree.
The TMI gang was able to escape the dreams they first got when they entered Edom by realizing that something major was wrong with their dreams. However, as the pictures above show, it seems that if the person is able to notice a minor difference then the dreams are able to change it. After all details are changed in both Claryās and Simonās dreams. So basically the dream demon is pretty powerful because if someone only noticed minor changes they wouldnāt be able to break out of the demonās grasp and would end up getting killed by the demon.
Wait, So how exactly did Jace find out about this. Thereās no way that Magnus wouldāve just randomly told him. Any one have any guesses?
Alec in COLS needs to read TBC. It would definitely have gotten Alec the info he wanted and could have helped with his doubts about Magnusā immortality. Itās unfortunate the book characters canāt read other books in their universe.
Azazel must be really bored. Which isnāt surprising but got to say heās def one of the most entertaining demons.
How do I keep missing this type of info. By the time I finish rereading this book Iām gonna end up having new info on every species because I didnāt notice the first time.
As much as Malcolm seemed to hate the blackthorns, thereās no way that he didnāt build a fondness for them. I mean he watched them all grow up and has been super close to them for 5 years. Plus even if he mostly helped Julian with Andrewās madness and helped babysit the blackthorn kids to gain their trust, when Malcolm forces Julian to tell Emma and Mark the secret about how Julian actually ran the institute, he did that to help Julian and not to obtain his trust. I feel like that shows that Malcolm did indeed grow fond of the blackthorn kids, itās just that his hatred of the past blackthorns and the need to get Annabel back was greater.
Or I could be completely wrong and he may have only helped Julian for another reason.
