Howdy it's been awhile, meet my reeves turtle named Jam. She was rescued from a neglect situation where she was kept without a platform or any sort of lighting in a 10g tank with a painted turtle.

It wasn’t boomers who made it impossible to survive on a librarian or gardener’s salary - it was rich people.
Plenty of boomers work as librarians, teachers, gardeners, and so forth, and are finding that as the cost of living skyrockets and corporations take over more and more of the world, that their salary is no longer able to support them.
And thus you have boomers - who understand how much you want to be a librarian because they also work as librarians - going bankrupt, losing their homes, drowning in debt, and dying because of unaffordable healthcare. And they get why you’re becoming an IT specialist instead of a librarian - because they! Know! That you can’t survive! On a librarian’s salary anymore!
On the flip side, the rich people sucking money out of every service and person they can! Aren’t! Always! Boomers! Tons of them are Gen X! And an increasing number are millennials! I haven’t seen a Gen Z billionaire yet but I’m willing to bet there’s a couple by now!
Oh, and it’s not like they “don’t know” how much people want to do these sorts of jobs - they do! That’s how they justify underpaying people, because it’s your passion, you don’t ~need~ to be paid a living wage for your passion.
You have more in common with poor boomers than you do with Kylie Jenner (born 1997). Go and talk to them. Organize with them. You’ll find they have a lot to offer once you stop dismissing them as rich old folks who ruined the economy.

I’ve been feeling lazy and uninspired with art so I just did some studies of frogs and geckos!! This was very fun, I have to remind myself to do more studies like these when I’m feeling stuck.

ppl arent gonna like this but if you let your predator and prey pets interact u shouldnt have pets. good owners don’t put their pets in life risking positions just cus its cute or whatever. respect your animals and keep them apart or dont have them
my toads when i’m 1 day late feeding them and open the terrarium

Some idiot on tumblr pointing at their Domestic short-haired house cat: this is clearly a wild animal
Scientists: Predation by free-roaming cats is hazardous to the environment.
Wildlife Rehabbers: Predation by free-roaming cats is hazardous to the environment.
Conservationists: Predation by free-roaming cats is hazardous to the environment.
Some Jackass on Tumblr: If we don’t let cats free-roam and hunt we’ll suffer a rodent and bird related apocalypse :/
Still waiting for a source from where I live or is Tumblr still pretending nowhere outside the Americas & Australasia exists 🤷♂️
You are the one who claimed that rodent and bird populations would boom and destroy the ecosystem without predation from free-roaming cats so you are responsible for backing up your claims.
I have posted sources on here about the environmental damage free-roaming cats cause globally, in South Africa, in Japan, in New Zealand, in the UK, in Poland, and in Italy to start. Others have posted even more resources.
I’m not going to humor you by reposting them because, well, firstly you’re too dense to take anything from them to begin with but secondly you made a claim so the ball is in your court. Where are your sources that free-roaming cats are integral in keeping prey populations in check?
I’ll wait.

is it just me or of all pet-tube youtube channels snake discovery upsets me the most? since most of em are like ppl who do it as a hobby, but don't have a background in animals (like education or schooling, a degree). However snake discovery did go to school for these kinda things and she owns her own educational business, yet the care for her animals is kinda half-assed and don't even get me started on her alligator or that nightmare of a turtle tank.
Just fucking kill me already
I've quickly lost five followers over this lmao good riddance
I was talking about how extremely dangerous clickbaity exotic pet YouTube is with a friend a while ago and they recommended that channel because it's a ~rescue~ not a pet and I'm like.. their videos are very clearly angled as "look at this quirky unusual pet I have!" Just like literally every other clickbaity exotic pet YouTuber. Slapping a "rescue" sticker on it doesn't change anything. Do they represent an actual rescue organisation or did they receive the animal from a rescue org to care of? No?
If it was a rescue they'd have an appropriate habitat for it and leave it there to do alligator things. There's no reason it needs to be an ~ambassador~ for people to interact with. What do you think happens when a kid learns you can pet alligators and makes a beeline straight for a wild one? Or they pester their parents to get one as a pet and eventually release it into the wild because it grows huge? Or it takes their hand off while feeding?
Lots of people are afraid of and hate alligators, but advertising them as a fun pet instead of intelligent wild animals to be respected and protected in their natural habitat is just dangerous.
Excellent points
hoo hoo it's SCENT ENRICHMENT NIGHT boys!
once these bad boys are dry they'll go into the lizard enclosures 👀
What a fun idea!
No offense but how come ppl who have been keeping reptiles for like 10-20+ years always the WORST when it comes to care? Like did all these years of caring for these animals teach you nothing?
I only really got my first reptile when I was 18 and ever since I got socks I've just constantly been striving to improve her care and the same goes for all my other amimals I've had for shorter amounts of time.
I don't understand how you can just stall and stop learning more about your animals? Like don't you love and care for them? Don't you want the best for them? Or is this just like playing pokemon for you? You just wanna collect all the cool reptiles n frogs but dont give a shit about em in reality?
