Your'e already the kind of writer you want to be
I truly believe that every writer has it in them to be any type of writer there is.
Writing relies a lot on the writer's mood, current mental state/health, environment, current life experiences, age, level of maturity and so many more factors.
I have been writing for 17 years and in that time I've written both original and fanfiction stories.
There was a time when I could only write short stories but these days I can only write long works.
Once upon a time I couldn't stand angst and only wrote cheesy romantic fluff with happy endings. Nowadays I can only write romance with heavy angst and open endings.
I used to write serious ass characters but now I'm better at writing comedic ones.
Back in the day my characters were of the righteous, Mary Sue kind. These days my characters are flawed and traumatized golddiggers.
I was once far better at describing a character's emotions than writing flowing dialogue, but now it's the opposite.
I didn't even have to sit down and decide to change my writing style. It just happened naturally as I matured in writing and as a person.
That is why I believe that anyone is absolutely capable of becoming the sort of writer they want to be. Embrace the writer you are now and be patient with yourself.
If you can't wait for growth to come naturally to you, go ahead and use available tools to learn to how to be the writer you want to be. You already have it in you anyway.
