i do feel like.....idk, doggo culture or whatever has made people very comfortable with dogs and like. i obviously love dogs i have dedicated a lot of my life to dogs but dogs.....like, uh, kill people sometimes
there's been this weird shift from like when i was a kid and it was just customary that you didn't approach dogs you didn't know and you didn't touch a stranger's dog without permission to people feeling completely entitled to just touch your dog
to the point of disregarding and even arguing with you when you say no
i have an aggressive dog and the number of people who insist "well, dogs love me" and reach out to touch him anyway is ridiculous
i feel like culturally we've treated dogs so much like children that people have largely forgotten that at the end of the day they're still animals and animals are not always predictable, logical, or even safe
Adjacent point, and possibly unpopular opinion, but it also seems like there’s been a large increase in entitlement from dog-owners too — specifically them assuming that their dog is automatically allowed into every public building or retail space, not even checking if there’s a sign on the door, and having a go at retail workers if they’re not allowed
And no it doesn’t make a difference if they’re “only small” or “well-behaved, not like other dogs”
There are many legitimate reasons that places don’t allow dogs — as stated above, they are still animals, they are unpredictable, even the most well-behaved dog could be provoked. Dogs could have messy fur, many people are allergic to dogs, many young children are scared of dogs — assuming that they should be let in places as default is a dangerous habit which definitely seems to have increased in recent years
How do I explain to you people that interracial relationships are okay
Not every white person dating a POC is fetishizing. White people can be respectful and responsible when it comes to culture and relationships and not everyone has bad intentions.
Asian people can date Black people without you saying shit like “your kids will be so pretty” they’re not dating for pretty kids. They’re dating bc they like each other.
Someone can dress their partner in clothing from their culture if they want. Someone can take their partner to cultural events if they want.
People in relationships can share cultures, experiences and love without it being toxic or skin deep.
Their partner isn’t culturally appropriating. Their partner is being shown the ultimate form of love, bc their partner trusts them and loves them enough to share their history and heritage.
Yeah, dating someone from your culture is nice bc you automatically have similar experiences. But you’re not limited to dating people with the same experiences. Loving someone is sharing and growing and being together.
Interracial relationships aren’t always toxic, and some of y’all need to stop projecting onto other people.
👆 THIS 👆 👏👏👏
Calling ineterracial relationships toxic or fetishizing just seem like anti race mixing or racism with extra steps
This reminded me of this
I cannot express how important it is to brush your teeth and floss regularly. It's especially important as so many people don't have dental coverage and that preventative work saves you so much pain and money in the long run. I know it sucks and it is so hard, but you'll also feel so good after doing it. And when you start doing it regularly, you'll find your mouth and gums feel so much better. If you've already done it today, good job! I'm so proud of you and so happy for you!
This is the first tumblr blaze post I've seen that's made me go "actually yes, it's good if people see this"
i couldnt not do it (*´ω`*)

My daughter also needs to see if your son can manage a house, cook food. Only then we’ll agree to this marriage.
It’s a nice ad from BIBA India with a good ending as well. Link - (x)
Okay, he’s got potential. :)
Look at the glow in her eyes. She may or may not have loved him before, but now she knows he’s willing to grow and change to improve their life together. That’s real love.
Reblogging for this version. Even if she’s happy to be the primary homemaker, her husband needs to know the basics. Otherwise, if she falls sick or otherwise has a bad day, they’re both out of luck, and that’s just not fair to a sick woman. Or to a pregnant one.
And this young man steps up to the task! He accepts that he’s lacking in the basic skills necessary to care for a wife, and resolves to grow as a person.
This is Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges is still alive today. This is recent history, not ancient history. My mother is the same age as Ruby Bridges. This is the recent, lived history of our families. I cannot stress enough that people in our community RIGHT NOW lived through this and in some instances still relive similar experiences today that no child should go through.
For most of us, our families were just like Ruby OR they were like the cruel classmates hurling threats at other children like Ruby and then they did their best to raise another generation to hate.
Please support Ruby and her story which Scholastic announced will release September 6, 2022.

When you see your pet and start petting their head and it’s randomly wet and you ask them “what happened why are you wet!!!!!!” And the pet doesn’t answer
