I SMASHED REBLOG SO HARD
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING
Shitty teaches the tadpoles how to properly chug drinks.
this is so completely and nine thousand percent accurate
The tears in her eyes
The tears just add so much to this. I’ve been watching it for days.
suddenly remembered this poem as i was making breakfast this morning & frantically googled “poem remembered to buy eggs?????????” & somehow managed to find it & it utterly knocked the wind out of me just as much as when i first read it
public transport moodboard
“A masterpiece was created in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone today” video by Kyle Kotajarvi
This wasn’t a government stunt to try and avoid doing something meaningful, but a coming together of community artists who did it for free. Which is why it’s the best.
And it’s not even finished in that shot!
It really is stunning art. I hope they keep this block closed to vehicles for a long time.
I love how the right wing is all “It’s Anarchy! It’s terrorism! They’re burning everything down! They must be stopped! Send in the military!”
Meanwhile the moment people are allowed to do what they want, the first things they do are…
Make art and plant a garden.
[ID: 1) An overhead video of Black Lives Matter painted down the middle of a public street in Seattle in large letters. Every letter is a separate brightly colored piece of colored art. 2) A Tweet by James Saint-Franc @sirjamesa12 “Every single letter was designed by black artists from the Seattle area.” 3) A still shot of the same street art completed. It is even more brightly colored.]
Me when I was younger: girls are just so pretty and their hair and curves and smiles are gorgeous. but I’m not gay or anything. everyone thinks that girls are beautiful.
Me looking back now: take a chill pill sweetie, you’re hella gay.
Saw this father and his son in Popeyes with a Make America Great Again hat and this what happened.
That little white boy that threw the hat was waiting on it
I will never get tired of this
Me: *Removes my cat from my lap to do something else.*
My cat: Father is...evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? I am running away. I am packing my little rucksack and going out to explore the world as a lone vagabond. I can no longer thrive in this household.
The spiritual successor to Miette
Might I also add
May i add the piece from artist Verbal Vomit
Glad to see we’re all in agreement that cats talk like disparaged victorian children
I am so incredibly glad we finally moved on from "i can has". Cats are clearly smart enough for advanced sentence structure and dumb enough to draw entirely incorrect conclusions about what they're talking about.
My cat, banging the cabnet door over and over and over: bang bang bang
Me: you will not earn what you desire by banging the cabinet door.
My cat: This is a test of wills, is it not? We shall see if your ability to put up with my incessant banging outlasts my eternal lust for snackie treats. Years of conditioning have hardened me for this purpose. bang bang bang
Me: ksst!
My cat, throwing herself to the ground like she's been shot: Oh! Oh I have been assailed in my own home! Have mercy, have pity! Surely in the cruel darkness of your heart there is some mote of goodness that might stay your hand! Do not strike me, I pray you!
Me: ok
My cat, after waiting about 3 minutes: bang bang bang

Dozens of NYC Subway riders, fresh off a Robyn concert, singing “Dancing On My Own” while waiting for the E train. (Video by Triszh Hermogenes)
I’m reblogging this again because the absolute joy in this video is something I haven’t seen in such a long time that I’d forgotten this aspect of humanity.
This is hands down the best tik tok ever made.
YOU GUYS DON’T UNDERSTAND, I’M STUDYING TO BE A VET TECH, AND I’M GONNA HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT @jaybaybay-01 @nexparker @resting-confused-bitchface @goldenavenger02
I don’t want to keep adding to this post but like. The reason it’s not specifically or exclusively about lesbianism is because having irrational anxiety about whether your sexuality is predatory is something shared by lots of gay, bi, and trans people, some straight cis men, and even people who just think of themselves as ugly. Simply being attracted to someone who finds you sexually unattractive isn’t a shameful violation. People have internalized not just homophobia but the whole idea that like... being undesirable makes your own desire grotesque.
I think this is a really common anxiety among people with various types of dysmorphia. There is a conviction that your body is gross or unattractive, and a fear that no one will desire you because of it... and that your ugliness renders your desire for other people horrifying, inappropriate, and scandalous. (“I think she’s beautiful, but she would be disgusted by me; therefore my attraction to her is disgusting.”)
Also maybe I’m talking out of my ass here, but I think in some ways society has fetishized this idea of, hmm... ugliness as preying upon beauty.
Does that make sense...? I’m not sure how to articulate it better than that, but it’s almost as though The Concept of Ugliness is conceived of as a force that seeks to gain domination over or possession of The Concept of Beauty. That’s a hell of a thing to subconsciously internalize about your body and your sexuality.
I guess the most archetypal example I can think of that might demonstrate this is Jabba the Hutt and Princess Leia. Obviously he’d still be a bad guy if he were an attractive human man who behaved exactly the same, but his physical ugliness is treated almost like a villain in its own right.
Coming back to this in the morning—I want to clarify that I think it goes a little beyond simply portraying villains and bad guys as physically ugly in fiction. It’s also that ugliness itself is implied to be corruptive, a destructive force that perverts what it touches. A contagion, almost. And I think this threat of infection, the idea that beauty can be tainted by contact with ugliness, is what is fetishized—ugliness on its own is simply unfortunate, but ugliness that desires beauty is a perverse titillation, almost an erotic horror. The creature from the black lagoon menacing the lovely maiden.
Of course there is (as always) a racialized and xenophobic element to it, but I think it also encompasses things like fatness, butchness, hairiness, certain disabilities... you can subconsciously accept that not only is your ugliness a failure to be ashamed about, but it’s also something which contaminates that which is not ugly, and so the mere existence of your desire is a kind of disgusting immorality.
Which is, let me be clear, complete bullshit.
It Knows the Power It Wields 🖨
