The American people overwhelmingly oppose Trump’s plan. In fact, a recent poll found that only 14% of voters support cutting social services to fund an extension of Trump’s tax cuts. That’s why Republicans passed the bill early in the morning when no one was watching — because they know how wildly unpopular it is. This bill is NOT a done deal. It still needs to pass the Senate. It's important that we get in touch with our senators and tell them to vote NO on this bill. Keep calling. (202) 224-3121
Getting into FMA is accepting that the anime community is right. It’s concluding that unfortunately I am not original and its top spot is very much justified.
genuinely so scary that you can't access the page on the ssc website that guides you through changing your sex designation. so so fucking scary. they are already making our lives harder. they are already taking what little resources we have.
update on this, if people want to reblog this to spread information to any trans person who is getting their gender marker changed with social security after the executive order:
today i went and was able to change my gender marker along with my name with social security. even though the page that guides you has been taken down you are STILL ABLE to do so. here is a link to the way back machine for the page and here is a link to the form you will need and here is another source that can help you prepare for federal crackdowns
don't be deterred by the removal of the page. there is still time, but possibly not a lot of it. if you can do this fast, do it.
it's worth noting that it's FREE to change your gender marker with social security. when you change your gender marker with social security, what you change it to does NOT have to match your other current IDs.
double check your state policies, and what you will personally need, but the overall message of this post is that there is STILL TIME despite the executive order. don't give up hope.
The ceasefire agreement was reached and joy is floating among the Palestinian people
The joy is indescribable here all over the Gaza Strip. This thing seems like a literal miracle.
Rafah crossing will be opened tomorrow, God willing. We need help, friends. Please donate.
The State of Qatar announced a full agreement on all the details and said that the ceasefire will be implemented on Sunday.
These four days will be more difficult than the past 15 months because the occupation will commit a large number of massacres and the crossing will be opened soon. We want you to donate to us so that we can evacuate from Gaza in peace.

I have always loved animation and I always wanted to own an animation cel of a show I liked. I had some sketches of the MK1412 anime, which I also treasure a lot but…
LOOK AT THIS! I bought myself an animation cel of the episode of Kid‘s first appearance with hand-painted background from 1997 😭 picture me very happy! ❤️

Inevitable Fading by Artem Chebokha
Saw a tiktok of a guy saying he doesn’t feel comfortable talking to minors because he’s 19. And it’s just. I’m so fucking tired of this.
And like to be clear, I’m speaking as a victim of pedophilia when I say: We need to get over this collective fear of endangering children. Because holy shit, this stuff is getting out of hand.
The average person is not a threat to a child.
And also!!! It is actually really really good for kids to have friendships with adults that aren’t their family.
Having friendships with adults when you’re younger prepares you for adult life in a better way then only interacting with adults that are family members or teacher as well.
And also if there’s any sort of weird behavior happening with adults or teachers, it’s very helpful to have unrelated adults, you can go to, and also have a model for what normal adults are supposed to look like.
And also! You’re just making it way easier for pedophiles to prey on children when you completely avoid interacting with them as an adult. Because kids are naturally inquisitive and curious. They are going to want to interact with adults and they are going to want to ask questions. And if the only adult adults that are willing to interact and speak with them or adults who have ulterior motivations. Guess what’s gonna happen.
Also on a more general note. Having a model for what a normal healthy adult is supposed to look like makes it way easier for kids to be able to recognize and identify when adults in their personal life are being weird.
Less magic schools. More magic universities. Unlearn the simplified models of your secondary education. Discover how to reference scrolls written by a wizard possessed by a different wizard. Identify bias in the voices that whisper from beyond the veil. Have your institution be accused of promoting a Merlinist agenda. Become addicted to energy potions.
When you've been working on modifying a spell for class, and you ended up using some forbidden texts in your research because some asshole mis-shelved them, & you're too far along to do it all over, but you can't Cite the forbidden texts because they're forbidden, so you just leave the citation out for that piece, only for your professor to catch you out on it because they were the one who helped decide to forbid those texts in the first place.
I think it's important to remember, as a rule of thumb, if you take advantage of a social service, it actually makes it easier for other people who need that service to access it. Most of the time, when these services get cut, it's because politicians will look at usage and say "see, no one is really using this thing, we can afford to trim the budget for food stamps by at least half". Whereas if you decide to step up and use these programs, even if you feel like you "don't really need it", at bare minimum it's another data point advocates can use to say "hey, look, people are using this thing, this is an important service we are providing, do not cut our funding".
I work at a nonprofit, and it is absolutely wild explaining to folks that being part of a program that reduces their energy bill actually helps us get funding to help even more people get energy bill savings.
You aren’t taking resources from anyone by using programs you qualify for. You are making a case for those programs being important enough to continue to exist and (in many cases) grow.
We live in a world so controlled by the idea of resource scarcity that we reason "If I get help, that must be taking help away from someone else!"
I made a survey for nonverbal people!!
Please do this survey if you are nonverbal!!
Nonverbal means someone's full time. 24/7. It does not mean only able to speak alone or only sometimes. It means 24/7 unable to use speech
I aim to have at-least 50 nonverbal people respond before I post results on our tumblr, which is a huge amount of nonverbal people to find because we are quite rare to be on a lot of platforms. You can help by rebloging so it can have a a big sample size!!
This is not for verbal people, or even carers of nonverbal people! It is for nonverbal people themselves. If you need help from someone else to do the survey that is absolutely okay!! Just not a carer doing it for a nonverbal person with no input from them.
It’s so much fun
Pick a winter activity
making snow angels
drinking hot chocolate
eating tamales
eating warm soup
wearing soft mittens
ice skating
going to the ballet
looking at Christmas lights
making a snow man
snowball fight
sledding
making cookies
Out of these, I like eating tamales the most. Although, it hardly ever snows here. What's your favorite out of these and comment your personal favorites, if you'd like
Now that you're here, please share and donate to help a woman widowed by genocide and her 2 young children. They're spending this winter shivering in a tent, hearing the sounds of weapons, and praying that they're not next. The last donation to them was 2 days ago.

Rain terrifies my children – it sounds like gunshots. The noise startles them awake whenever rain lands on our tent. “Don’t be afraid,” I reassure them. “This is the sound of God’s mercy. This is the rain.” They go back to sleep, their fear fading, but as for me? Sleep flees from my eyes. What if the tent collapses on top of us? If the weight of the water destroys what little we have left? In the past, we would rejoice when the skies opened. We would welcome the rain. Children would run outside, playing like it was a holiday. But now, when clouds gather, our hearts fill with dread, and our chests tighten with anxiety. How could it be otherwise? Our tattered tents, already torn by summer heat, are at risk of flooding. Imagine the pain and helplessness we feel. O Allah, have mercy on the young and the old! Relieve the suffering of Gaza! Protect us from the horrors of war before the harsh winter strikes with biting cold and relentless winds! You, O Lord, are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves! You are more aware of our plight!
