Hijacking this post to infodump because I’m a nerd

NO planet has a circular orbit. All planetary orbits are elliptical (an ellipse is basically a glorified oval.) Circles are a special case of ellipse, but even the least elliptical orbits are never perfectly circular. Hell, Kepler’s first law, a law that predates even Newton’s law of gravitation, is literally that all planetary orbits are elliptical.

Pluto was removed because its orbit crossed Neptune’s and the International Astronomical Union’s definition of a planet required it to be an object that “is the most dominant object in its orbit”, which Pluto isn’t, because Neptune.

And since I’ve given up convincing y’all that Pluto shouldn’t, in fact, be included as a planet, may I instead propose:

Haumea

You wanna include Pluto in the list of planets? There are currently four other recognized celestial bodies that fit the other two planetary criteria (spherical shape, orbits the sun) which are currently counted along with Pluto as dwarf planets thanks to the clause that disqualified Pluto. If you wanna call Pluto a planet, you better include the rest of its dwarf planet family. 

Especially Eris; Eris is BIGGER than Pluto.
