What superpower would you want if you lived in a world where most people had powers of some kind?

Interpret this however you want. Want to go op and fly? Sure, just explain why or how. Want to be able to crochet really quickly? Sure. I would love to see answers all over the spectrum.

just misread soc as sock so here’s the socks they would wear:

kaz: black, over knee socks.

inej: those grippy socks you get at trampoline parks. to the ankle

jesper: rainbow toe socks.

wylan: funky socks with animals or doodles on them

nina: whatever she finds laying in her closet. probably mismatched. tie dyed socks once and still has them.

matthias: plain white socks, halfway up his calf.

also kuwei is a barefoot gremlin

I have yet to actually read Six of Crows, but from what I can gather:

-Kaz is emo Inigo Montoya but for his brother instead of his father

-Inej is a pirate and also an acrobat

-Nina is really really pretty

-Jesper likes money and guns

-Some blonde guy named Matt??? He’s awful but part of the group???

-Wylan cannot read because his dad hates him

-Someone is named Joost and he has a mustache but that’s not one of the six main people??

-Some of the six people are Grisha

-Someone is named Pekka and he is a trashcan

-There is a club and it has crows

-The six main people steal something (money?) from an ice castle prison thing

-They’re criminals but like it’s okay because… they’re hot?

-Kaz and Inej are in love, Jesper and Wylan are in love, Nina and the blonde guy are in love, but why evades me

-Everyone is gay

-Chapter 40 is bad

Is this at all correct

Also, Matt is not awful. He tries to be awful but he’s too compassionate and gives up

I feel like I like fantasy, but every new fantasy book I’ve read recently has been horrible. Poorly set up “enemies to lovers.” Vague religious descriptions that make no sense when looked at for more than a few seconds. I just want to read a good book >:(

The way I want to prove that Kuwei never directly insults Wylan in crooked kingdom the way Wylan insults Kuwei by the end of the book?

Also if the kiss is Kuwei’s fault, it’s also Jesper’s.

All technically true, but yet still incorrect.

Kuwei doesn’t insult Wylan, but he does repeatedly try to come onto Jesper- even after they were an established couple.

I’m a Kuwei defender- but I’m not a Wylan hater.

This is not at all a diss on Wylan. The one time that we see on page that Kuwei tried to come onto Jesper is at the very end of the book, where the flirtation is implied, not necessarily outright.

I just translated the book into a screenplay, I read this two days ago.

Lines I remember off of the top of my head from the books:

I guess he doesn’t flirt too much, but knowingly pretending to be someone else so you can get a smooch also isn’t nice, esp to the person you’re impersonating.

I love Kuwei, he’s a 15 year old who’s edgy, terrified, and pretty much lives and dies by YOLO actions. Just like all of the other crows, he does some messed up stuff

i was listening to i dreamed a dance and the line "your sparkling eyes of blue" has always bothered me bc jack wolfe has brown eyes, would it have been that crazy to change one word? then i thought about it some more. and sometime babies are born with blue eyes but they get darker as the person gets older, turning brown. oh my god. do you get. my drift.

I realized this actually does need more elaboration so I’m back.

Jesse’s girl fits Cardan during Cruel Prince- while Jude was with Locke. Specifically, I’m reminded of this during the lyric “and she’s watching me with those eyes” considering the party where Jude and Cardan were kissing different people, but had their eyes on each other.

Okay sooooo, why is no one talking about Cardan’s real voice?

I was looking back at my annotations and remembered an important detail about cardan’s development.

-

“I don’t know,” Cardan says again, in a raw way that makes Oak think of being trapped in the royal bedchamber and overhearing him and Jude together. It’s Cardan’s real voice, the one he uses when he’s not performing.

(TPT, chap 20, pg 269)

Here’s another quote:

“I have little experience of dispensing brotherly wisdom, but I know a great deal about mistakes. And about hiding behind a mask.” He salutes with his wineglass. “Some might say that I still do, but they would be wrong. To those I love, I am myself. Too much myself sometimes”

Oak laughs. “Jude wouldn’t say that.”

Cardan takes a deep swallow of plum-dark wine, looking pleased with himself. “She would, but she’d be lying.”

This is such an important detail and a great development for Cardan. I love how deep Holly Black goes into her characters. In most of TFOTA series, we got to see this cruel, and angry prince who hid behind a mask to make himself look scary. Fast forward 8 years later, he slowly took that mask off to only those he loves and cherishes, Jude, and the rest of the family. Can’t wait to see more of Cardan in the future!

Young Inej Ghafa camping in a ravkan forest and playing hide and seek tag with her cousins. She asks one of them to count, then scurries up the tallest tree as fast as possible and staying there until she wins. Once she wins she climbs down to rejoin the group. Soon the next person starts seeking, and she climbs up again immediately to the exact same spot. Some of her cousins try to convince her that she’s won and can come down already, but this is Inej so she doesn’t fall for it, opting instead to stay in her corner of the sky.
