Erica couldn’t help but snort at Derek’s words, shaking her head. She could understand where he was coming from, but her happy mood vanished at his next words. “Wait… What kind of message has you worried so much you come home from work because I’m not answering my phone? Derek, what happened?”

“Nothing happened. It was just a weird text about how I should take extra care of my loved ones. And we all know how the people I cared about always found themselves in harms way, or even worse, before. So I’m just making sure”

With her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, Erica wrapped her arms around Derek, shrugging her shoulders as she smiled into the kiss.

“I wasn’t planning on it, but thank you for loving me the way I am,” she hummed into his chest. “Now, are you going to tell me what had you so worried that I was being taken by a serial killer, just because I wasn’t answering my phone? I mean, it’s not the first time it happened.. What gives, Hale?”

Derek looked down at her, brows furrowed. 

“I wasn’t worried you’d fallen victim for a serial killer. I’d be more worried about him, I know you can protect yourself. I just..” He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words. “I just got a message that made me worry”
