That morning, Charles sat in front of the mirror to shave, turning his head to the side and lifting the blade to the shorn sides of his head. He caught Arthur’s reflection in the mirror and stopped, putting the blade down and turning to look at him, really look at him. To see the life reflected back at him in the cornflower blue of his eyes, and the way the bruising of sickness underneath was slowly fading with each day.

Arthur catches him looking, and returns his gaze with that quiet smile, the one that's just for him. It was then that Charles realized that maybe he didn’t have to.

Charles lets his hair grow back instead.

Been thinking about Charles letting his hair grow back after all that grieving. After he found Arthur almost dead up on that mountain. When enough time passes that he doesn't hold his breath every time Arthur coughs and pray that today isn't it.

From the Arthur lives RP @superiorhomo and I have going that is now the length of a 600 page novel lol.
