The Boy's coffin looks to have been in some kind of prison or penitentiary. Going with the assumption the Boy was a child soldier (Those as young as 12 were known to be drafted at the time) it was more than likely he was either a prisoner of war or a traitor. Going with the latter over the former in my case here!

Hood's coffin is backed up by heaps more. It was possible she was shot at the sight of a mass grave as an execution.

Hypothetically if you think really super ultra hard about it, said execution could've taken place in the same ward the Boy was being held. He would've been able to see it. He could've tried to stop it, acting out against his captors which consequentially put him not far behind Hood, being hung.

The DLC needs to release I am just throwing things together to keep myself sane at this point

the grippy socks gang (who don't have any actual grippy socks) (hush steals them and keeps them under her pillow) hush, noone, and low are all canonically patients at the counties psychiatric institute. six and spoonie being patients is just my headcanon. chronologically, six would have been at the institute WAY before any of the other kids... noone and low may have encountered each other, and low probably met hush and spoonie.

Oomf pointed this out while I was streaming the DLC and it was a really interesting thought to me so I wanted to take a look into it!

Low is notably wearing the upper half of a queen chess piece as his headgear, given away by the ridges, the top, and the light taking the place of the crown "topper" when enabled.

Queens are the only piece on the board to be able to move in every direction, it's typically regarded as the most powerful piece and is sought after by the opposing side because losing it can be crippling. However, in the case of it being taken, a pawn can be promoted to a queen.

Ironic for Low's character isn't it? Starting out as a pawn on Otto's set that he drove toward the threshold, only to be championed into a queen upon crossing it and entering the Nowhere. Being capable of traveling limitlessly with the help of the mirrors, at the expense of everything and their dogs being out to get him.

There's also something to be said in Dime wearing a colander. She has her own filtered hideaway where she's safe and comfortable and where nothing could ever possibly hurt her because she, piece by piece, strained all the bad out of the good.

they make me physically and violently ill to think about, thank you! The joke that "Low has a type" prickles me, as funny as it is, unfortunately i am the type of person who rips apart characters to analyze them and their thinking especially in relationships!

Alone is an extension of a part of Low, subconscious or coveted, she comes from somewhere in his mind. Imagination needs a place from which it can source, especially in children. Low, being isolated and alienated from his peers, likely had nothing to base his aspiration for a friend on but himself, or alternatively the ideals he had for himself to become.

Somebody strong who can protect not only themself, but those who they care about. Somebody whose love comes naturally and unforced. Somebody who will not hurt him, manipulate and use him as Otto had. Somebody who his trust can definitively fall upon, because, I mean, it's the same place it always fell upon (himself)

It wouldn't be insane for him to want to see those same traits in somebody else, would it? Alone is the first person in his life that played a significant role that never harbored any intent to control him. So those like her have to be the same, right? If they are like Alone, they wouldn't betray him, right?

(hint if they are like Alone, he will always lose them)
