(I thought of this backstory for 3 years. I'm glad that you like it)
She was never caught. Nobody knew she was there, nobody knew that two books of the vlock family went missing for a few hours. And nobody knew that the fire monster down there had developed a resistance to the spells. Only she knew. A little piece of info that not even the heads knew.
It felt great! To be the only one who knew. And better yet, she copied some of the spells of the books she stole. She could now learn them properly and finally sedate that fire monster and she knew of a secret entrance now, a very dirty, and full of spiders and cockroaches, entrance but... it seemed that this was another thing she only knew. Yay to her.
.
It took months. 9 months to be exact. She realized that her affinity for those types of spells was low, very low. But that didn't discourage her. It tired her though, since she had to juggle learning those spells, her normal studies, her training with her mother and father, and mingling with the cesspool that was the rest of the family.
And to make sure that the monster kept his mouth shut, she visited him. Not always, but maybe once or twice a week, and always through the vent, since she didn't want to risk getting caught by the main door again.
"So... are you my grandpa or great great great greaaaaat grandpa?"
"I don't know... I just know that... you are family..."
"How? You can't even smell through the barrier. My dad made that, you know?"
There was a hint of pride in that last sentence. Her dad was a pain in her head, but he was powerful, enough to be at the top of the other family heads, a position that she was taught to covet.
"Well... because logic..."
"That's a stupid answer. You can't say that. If you know that we are related, then tell me your thought process or don't talk at all."
"Alright... you will never know then"
"No, you can't do that either"
.
Sea would later realize, in the future, that he knew because he was aware of how her family operated and saw many mages and witches force themselves onto the other monsters while they were hypnotized and sedated. And that he was the only flame monster there, so it would be logical to think that Sea was his family.
.
After 9 months, she was sure that she could cast the pheromone spell to finally sedate the monster. She was ready... but there was one tiny problem. She was also grounded, forced to copy a 345 page history book using a spell that made the pen float. If she made a mistake or stained the paper, she had to do it all again from the beginning.
What a pain.
That tired her out. So she had to wait three more days until she could go back to the basement. She crawled through the vents, as always, until she arrived. And when she did, she saw her father.
He was feeding the fire monster, throwing a bowl of water at him, then tossing him a box of bread and fruit. Is it not like she had never seen her father be mean to someone, he even took her to watch a torture session once. It was normal there... and yet...
And yet... when he left...
"You should have burned him or something..."
She went back up and to the kitchen to get a bag of cookies. And was currently imbuing them with healing magic.
"Burn a volcanoid mage?"
"It's possible. I have seen it..."
"Well, if you say it... then it must be true..."
She didn't say anything afterwards. Mostly because she was rather tired after using healing magic. She wasn't very good at it... because her father hadn't taught her yet.
"Thank you, kid. I'm... grateful for your gift..."
"... yeah right. Just quit the nice words, I didn't do it because he hurt you, I did it because you will own me again..."
"...right... how unthoughtful of me..."
(3/3... well, now I guess I have to make it longer. 3/5)
Wow this dude is patient. Or just sounds sad. He talks kinda like he’s still a little affected by the pheromones
