I think part of why Vox hates Angel so much is becuse he undermines his authority at every trun. We even see think with him spitting in Vox's face. I don't think this is the first time he's snaped back at Vox. I can fully see him being rude as all hell to Vox only to in a ironic twist hide behind Val because Vox isn't aloud to hurt Val's toys.

We get explicity that Vox has been waiting to back hand slap Angel himself meaning that Val must have explicity been stopping him. Of corse not out of possession not protection.

Still the effect to Vox is the same. Angel makes it look like he has less than 100% authority because he does.

Vox also just can't stand known Angel doesn't like or repect him. If Angel at least repected him he could tolerate that.

Some times Angel is obviously asked to act like he gets along with Vox and Vox hates that more. He feels Angel is trying to lie to him even though Angel has littelry no say in the matter.

Not a question but thought you might enjoy this headcanon. Stumbled across your "schooling dumbasses about Jim Crow laws in relation to Alastor" post earlier and was thinking about his tendency to go after racists (and also people who disrespect or hurt women, based on his comic). One of the nitpicks I see from people who dislike Hazbin is "Where are the racists and other discriminatory sinners?" And while I feel that the obvious answer is that the show doesn't want to touch certain topics because they're too controversial or painful (racism, pedophilia, etc.), I do personally enjoy the idea that the reason is that the most powerful sinner in hell is a mixed Creole guy from Jim Crow era Louisiana with a known penchant for murdering racists.

"Oh why isn't there a community for racists like Cannibal Town lol" Because Alastor would eat them bro. Big fan of the idea that any racists who remain alive in hell have to hide their sins and live in constant fear. You know, the kind of fear they inflicted on people while alive. Some Klan member shows up in hell and immediately learns that that stuff doesn't fly here because the Radio Demon hates people like them in particular. Alastor is kind of a boogeyman for everyone but for them in particular. The concept makes me smile.

Picture Alastor going absolutely hog wild on racists in hell, because now he doesn’t have to be careful, now there are no consequences to getting caught, now he’s the one with all the power.

There’s no police to stop him. No laws. Jim Crow doesn’t exist in hell.

He’s free to do everything he’s ever wanted to do to the men that could have had him lynched in life for breathing at them wrong.

You best believe he targets them immediately. Devours them, features them in his broadcasts.

You learn very quickly what being racist near the Radio Demon results in.

Imagine other sinners, Sinners who have experienced the same discrimination but lack Alastor’s strength, using this to their advantage. Baiting racists to go off in proximity to Alastor. And then sitting back and watching the carnage.

Like the Radio Demon is dangerous, but he’s EXTRA dangerous to one specific group in particular.

Even though his story is probably going to be centered on the Morningstars and by extension his relationship with Charlie, I do think it would be fun if Angel/Husk/Valentino plotlines intertwined with whatever Al has going on in the end (such that saving Angel Dust leads to saving hell).

I wasn't even around for the pilot and hunicast days (when apparently radiodust was the most popular ship?) but I think the lack of interaction between Al and Angel is... interesting. They're two of Viv's characters that predate HH and they did seem to interact a decent amount in old sketches. I can't help but feel like it's intentionally being held off for some reason.

Can't even begin to speculate but I think despite their differences Angel and Al have more in common than Al would ever acknowledge. The juxtaposition between "it's not an act it's who I need to be" vs "just because you see a smile don't think you know what's going on underneath". They go about it in very different ways and want to inspire very different (and primal) emotions, but they are both performers, entertainers, who have tied their identities up in their persona.

Idk I just think it would be really interesting if Alastor leans into being "the radio demon" and Anthony leans into being "angel dust" during season 3. And if that means during season 4 or 5 angel will be uniquely qualified to clock whatever is going on with Alastor instead of just taking the persona at face value.

I know I am being pedantic, but Alastor's story will be centred on Charlie, which by extension will include the Morningstars. However, I agree with wanting Alastor to be involved in Angel Dust's story as well. They really do have a lot in common. In addition to the juxtaposition between "it's not an act, it's who I need to be" vs "just because you see a smile, don't think you know what's going on underneath", there is also the way Alastor's story has a lot of similarities to Angel Dust's story. It is particularly obvious when you compare S01E04 and S02E04, which showcased both Alastor and Angel Dust struggling with their deals and how they choose to deal with them. I will write more about this in the future, but I think that Alastor is uniquely qualified to help Angel Dust with his current issue. This would allow them to learn more about each other so that Angel Dust also gains an understanding of Alastor's persona.

Alastor and Angel Dust have barely interacted with each other at the moment. If the Hotel crew is going to become a proper found family, there needs to be more done to build relationships between all of them. I believe Season 3 is going to do that since there is going to be a focus on family.

a lot of radiostatic shippers demonize alastor and woobifying vox, almost all radioapple shippers woobifying lucifer and make him uwu omega uke and treat alastor as lustful evil big seme fiend/servant

if you like these ships but youre alastor fan first.... its frustrating

The level of my hatred for that particular Radioapple dynamic burns with the white hot intensity of a 1000 suns. I can hardly put into words how much I despise it.( though I wouldn’t say almost all Radioapple shippers use it.)

Thankfully, because I believe in bottom!Alastor supremacy, I’m mostly spared from seeing it. But when it does slip through the cracks, it makes me wanna tear my skin off.

Unfortunately, the ultimate downside of shipping Alastor, and his position as the most shippable character is that a lot of content uses him as a prop or prize in the pairing rather than giving him autonomy.

(There’s actually a really amazing breakdown of this, but I can’t find it. If someone can link it, I will love you forever.)

Such is the nature of shipping.

It’s completely understandable why some Alastor fans would prefer content that doesn’t ship him at all just to avoid the stress.
