You can be sure of this: The Lord has set apart the godly for Himself. The Lord will answer when you call to Him. Psalms 4:3
You, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cry out, and You answer me from Your holy mountain. I lay down and sleep, and I wake up in safety, for You are watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side because I’m surrounded by You. â€â€ Psalms‬ â€3:3-6
The Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king on the throne.” What joy there is for all who take refuge in him! Who submit to God’s royal son. Psalms‬ â€2:6‬,12
Blessed is the one who delights in the law of the Lord, who meditates on it day and night.
He or she is like a tree planted by streams of water, who yields fruit and whose leaf does not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3
Three years and two months of @heart_mind_s0ul later, I’ve been able to read through the Bible in its entirety for the first time. This in no way means that I’m done learning about who God is. It’s merely been a scratching of the surface. This account was a helpful way to keep myself motivated and disciplined by engaging creatively with scripture. It’s been fun, and apparently has even reached an audience of 1700+ on IG/Tumblr. More than just following what others are learning from the Word, I hope you’re tasting and seeing the goodness of Jesus for yourself. I’m not sure what I’ll do next, if I even decide to continue with this account. Bye for now 🙏🏻
Dearly beloved, let us continually grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
In eternity there will be no need for a temple because God himself will be the temple in which everything exists. The temple is not a building; it is the Lord himself.
He who sits on the throne will shelter them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more. There will be no mourning, crying, nor pain. To the thirsty he will give them the water of life.
The glory of God will illuminate all and fill the entirety of the new heaven and new earth. Going to heaven will be entering the limitless presence of the Lord.
Those who die in the Lord are blessed, for they have the privilege of entering His kingdom.
The first death is merely physical. The second is spiritual and eternal.
One day the Church, the redeemed of all ages, clothed in righteousness, shall be pure and faithful. Betrothed to Christ in eternity past, the day awaits when His bride will be presented to Him when He returns to establish His kingdom.
God has called us by His love. God has chosen us for salvation. God has set us apart from sin, that we’d be holy.
Therefore let us be faithful unto our Lord Jesus, He who is blessed and sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
God is righteous. The vengeance of God cannot be called too harsh, for He will justly judge the wicked generations that have killed His children and prophets, and who have refused to repent.
The Israelites sang this song after their passage through the Red Sea and their deliverance from the Egyptian armies.
One day this song of victory and deliverance will be sung again by the redeemed - who have been delivered from sin through Christ.
Blessed are the dead who die in Christ, for they find rest in Him.
Therefore we shall fear no evil and we shall endure through persecution.
True believers may be assured they will never lose faith, but will continually endure to the end, in obedience to the truth. Come what may.
The accusations of Satan no longer stand against those whose sins have been forgiven because of Jesus’ sacrificial death, nor against those who have forsaken their own lives for the crown of life that awaits them in eternity.
Despite its many political and cultural divisions, the Bible has viewed the world spiritually as one kingdom, long ruled by Satan.
The long rebellion of this earthly kingdom will end with the victorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to defeat His enemies and establish His kingdom.
Incense was a normal part of OT ritual. Twice daily, incense was burned before the inner veil of the temple so the fragrance would be carried into the Most Holy Place. It was a symbol of the people’s prayers rising to God - the prayers of all the redeemed concerning ultimate and final redemption.
As King David prayed in Psalm 14:1:2, let our prayers and stretching forth for God’s help be as disciplined and regular as the offering of incense in the tabernacle.
For the one who overcomes and endures to the end will there be the eternal comfort and presence of our Good Shepherd.
