I want my gay rights now! - Marsha P. Johnson (NYC Pride Parade, 1973)
Óðinn has so many facets, and although it’s not very much talked about, I love to picture him as a loving figure, gently guiding the dead into the otherworld.
I am so glad someone else sees it!
When I first lost my mother, I had a Flash of Inspiration (thank you Allfather, Mad God of Creative Ecstacy) and wrote a little myth about Óðinn as a bus-driving psychopomp. In this myth he was loving in the way a blue collar worker is— gruff, but kind and blunt about the truths of the situation.
Psychopomp is the right word! That’s exactly what I meant, I’m glad you see it too.
do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets
her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.
Thank you, Marsha. 💗
bitch this is all you’re gonna get. this life, this face, this body. you better not ‘maybe in another universe’ your way out of everything. sit your ass down and face this. go make tea and have a picnic and read a goddamn book. kiss your loved ones, send that damn text, and hug your siblings. this is all you’re gonna get.
I'm not pagan myself, but I've seen some people claiming that the Norse gods wouldn't care if someone who died in battle was a good person or not, can you tell me anything to disprove that?
Hey! Sorry this took me so long, life has been busy.
Short answer, I can't tell you anything for certain because we can not know anything for sure about the afterlife, if there even is one.
It's my personal belief that, based on the spiritual concept of the multi-part soul, we are not a whole, cohesive being in death as we are in life.
So yes, someone who is "bad" could theoretically go to the same afterlife as me.
In battle is a little trickier because I can assume you're thinking about those who die in battle and are selected by Odin. Honor could be a part of that, so those who were not honorable (by whatever standards unknown to us) might not go to that particular Hall.
But keep in mind there are multiple afterlives one could go to. Those "dishonored" souls might not be fit for Odin's fight, but do they still go somewhere? Perhaps Helheim? Are they devoured by Nidhogg, as mythology suggests?
But then the next part to think about is what we think "bad" means in this context. A murderer? A billionaire who abuses wealth? There's a lot of varieties of evil, and even evil people don't necessarily deserve an eternity of suffering, as is commonly posed to Christians and the like.
I believe that the breakdown of the soul in death is functionally cleansing, and since I don't believe anyone is born evil, I don't think the baser soul is subject to punishments for the living. Maybe there is some sort of means of purging the problematic parts of the soul (such as via Nidhogg), or maybe there's some kind of reincarnation rule like in other religions. But we really just can't know until we die.
Many pagan religions aren't afterlife-centric religions, and their focus is largely animistic and reciprocal. So maybe there's some degree of "punishment" in a cycle of bad luck for the soul in its other forms. But it doesn't really function like other major religions in the sense of Salvation vs. Condemnation, so it's a lot of areas of grey.
UPG - Loki sent some uplifting music my way. And a fleeting image of him riding a motorcycle with his long hair flowing in the wind.
A New Year Prayer to Loki
Hail Loki, Fire-walker, world-shifter, You who stand where endings burn and beginnings spark.
As the old year falls to ash, I set it before you— its mistakes, its lessons, its laughter and its scars. What must be broken, break. What must be burned, burn clean.
Loki, mover of fates, Teach me to walk the changing road with open eyes and quick wit. Grant me the courage to unmake what no longer serves, and the wisdom to laugh when the path bends unexpectedly.
Let this new year be forged, not given. Let truth be sharp, not cruel. Let change be chosen, not feared. Where I stumble, teach me to rise altered. Where I cling, teach me to release.
Fire in the hearth, fire in the mind, fire in the blood— stand with me as the year turns.
Not as master, not as servant, but as companion in becoming.
Hail Loki, and hail the year that comes.
🔥Prayer of Humor and Survival
Loki,
when the world grows heavy
and seriousness becomes a cage,
teach me to laugh without cruelty
and endure without breaking.
Let humor be my shield
and wit my way through.
🔥 Offerings to Loki That Cost Nothing
Offerings do not always need to be things you place on an altar. Many forms of devotion are quiet, simple, and personal. Loki, especially, does not require expense or perfection — only sincerity.
One gentle offering is honest acknowledgement.
You can speak to Loki plainly, without formal words, and simply say what you are feeling. There is no need to impress or perform. Being real is enough.
Another offering is a moment of lightness.
Laughing at a small mistake, smiling when plans change, or choosing not to be harsh with yourself can all be ways of honoring Loki’s playful, flexible nature.
Curiosity is also an offering.
Taking time to read, learn, or think about Loki without rushing to conclusions shows respect. Questions are welcome. Certainty is not required.
Adaptability can be devotional, too.
When something unexpected happens and you adjust with patience rather than frustration, you are moving in a way that aligns with Loki’s presence.
You may also offer attention without expectation.
A quiet greeting. A thought of gratitude. Sitting for a moment and acknowledging Loki without asking for help or change.
Finally, kind boundaries can be an offering.
Resting when you are tired. Saying no gently. Letting go of what no longer fits your life. Loki understands transitions and respects self-honesty.
These offerings do not demand energy, money, or ritual skill.
They are small acts of awareness and openness.
Devotion does not need to be loud to be meaningful.
🔥Spell for surviving social masks
Loki, wearer and breaker of masks,
you who know every shape is temporary,
see me now.
I have worn what was required.
I have played the part that kept the peace.
If this mask protected me once,
let me thank it.
If it no longer fits,
let it loosen without punishment.
I do not ask to be raw in unsafe places,
nor honest where honesty would harm me.
Teach me when to wear the mask lightly,
and when to set it down.
Let my voice return when silence is no longer shelter.
Let my face rest when performance is no longer needed.
Let me choose my shape
instead of being trapped inside it.
Loki, help me remember:
adaptation is not betrayal of self.
Rest is not failure.
Change is not dishonesty.
I am allowed to be many things,
and still be true.
So it is.
Loki won't hate you if you make mistakes. He has too. He's a good example to look at when remembering your actions have consequences. You can do whatever you want but you have to be ready to deal with the outcome.
Loki will be there when you feel outcast and alone and friendless. In those dark stormy days in your head he will be that candle that burns bright and it will never go out.
Don't have a good family? Me neither! But you know who is a Great dad/brother/uncle etc? Loki! Also the other gods. A whole new family that will fight for you and not abandon you.
He's not mad at you either btw. Communication is key and if you have worries just ask. He's not here to harm you or make you feel like hell. He's warm and silly but serious and stern if he has to be.
Somebody wrong you? Tell good ole carrot top. He may or may not make sure nobody finds their body. 😁👍
Anyway. I've been through a lot with him and I can promise he's definitely a good guy and worth having around. Even if he's made me wanna twist his nips a few times.

sniff lavender essential oil before bed
