Hot take: most stores/shops/whatever in America do not punish employees from shoplifting anymore. Some do but it’s mostly not a thing to do. Simple research on the store in your area tells you if employees get punished or cut pay from shoplifting.

A random l!fting tip probably no one will see. For some reason no one assumes anything if you buy stuff because apparently lifters don’t have any money Lmaoo. What I do is by something that costs like one dollar and I’ve never been sussed out. I’ll have like five things in each pocket while checking out a one dollar item like nothing happened.
reblog this with the first thing you ever stole
i’m interested to see how different/similar we all are
Drug store nail polish
Neopets stuffed animal
A pair of floral fabric shorts
eyebrow razors
A scarf, I was 10 lol
A poundland liquid lipstick
a lipstick from the dollar store. i had just sort of realized shoplifting, like, as a concept, and wanted to see how it was.
Clothes from aritzia
Hair bands!
Elf baked highlighter lmao
a fucking toy soccer ball when i was six
Lorac Liquid Lipstick from Ulta
A walnut
a pen from one of those greeting card stores or a necklace
2 or 3 buttons from Hot Topic :)
toxic waste when i was 8, i took them out at school and was cool for the day, it was great so i kept doing it 😎
a shitty bath bomb from claires
Pulled two rings off of one of those multipacks from Target
A pack of led pencils from the dollar store

Baby lifter story time!!!!!
Alright so me and my friend were at the dollar store, I told her how I’d never shoplifted and she looked at me like I was crazy. Then she said “pick something out” I was like “what the fuck.”
So I pick out some bottle cap candies and she JUST WHOOPS STUFFED IT UP HER BRA- and then she grabbed an icecream out of the freezer and stuffed it up there. We got out of the store and she was like “MY TITTIES ARE FREEZING” best day of my life I swear-
𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗶𝗳 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗼𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗳 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶̀𝗳țěř𝘀̧ 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 (𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀)
I was at høb löb with my mom and sister, and obviously I was gonna lift something so I guess here’s a tip for when you’re with parents!
This is just my experience with my parents who aren’t very strict.
My parents usually let me look around stores by myself and since we were in a craft store I just told my mom I was gonna go look at art stuff.
You should not lift anything when you are near your parents, especially if it’s in a small store. The store should be larger and more spacious. Like a grocery store or höb lob like where I was. After you separate yourself from your parents or parents you can go into the isle you want to lift stuff from, and do just as you would lifting normally.
I just grabbed the stuff, checked for what kind of tags it had to make sure it wouldn’t go off, and put it in my pocket. BUT DO NOT LIFT A WHOLE BUNCH OF ITEMS if you lift a ton of stuff theres a very likely chance you’re gonna get caught by your parents, I only took about two items.
My sisters friend came in with a HOOK on her keychain and said it’s for pushing buttons without having to touch them-
My friend and I are going to höb löb after chcristmas, bouta be my first time having a lifting buddy 😩😩😈🤝😈
anyone active december 2020? <3
do with this what you will
which one of you guys said this
lmaooooo
👀👀👀👀
I can't believe I never thought of this lmao
lmao i’m gonna try this
Actually. It doesn't hurt the employees at all.
How do I know this?
1) My mom worked for the IRS and is an EXPERT in corporate law/tax.
2) I've worked in retail as (a) accounting (b) senior management positions (c) LP and (d) SA
3) I HARDCORE study supply chain management and business.
I know most if not all sides of this game.
Now let me explain
Why? Because the budget cuts don't come from shrink most of the time. The products are *insured* and, for many other reasons, are kind of like a TAX BREAK because they are considered "Cost of Goods".
With grocery and beauty ESPECIALLY, the profit margins are already super low. Most of a store's coin is made in OTC/Health and generic products if you're dealing with supermarkets and grocery stores.
If they got a pharmacy, your little lipstick is DEFINITELY a drop in an ocean. Half the time it's miscounted and shrinked anyways because
1) Customers pick up and misplace things ALL THE TIME at ANY given point in time, including when we're doing counts.
2) SAs can be lazy, tired, overworked, etc. and miscount or "count ahead". AKA If there's only one on the shelf, they'll say it's 0 so the reorder can be large enough for the next truck delivery.
3) Customers doing God knows what and contaminating/damaging the items. And other little lifters like you doing who knows what with God knows where.
Budget cuts/Payroll cuts happen for larger reasons like:
1) Larger causes of shrink (miscounted, damages, misshipments after inventory is "counted" by the warehouse)
2) Low amount of employees doing high amounts of workload, "proving" that there isn't a demand for payroll during that shift.
3) Automation (counteracted by expansion, but in conjunction with #2 it's still a net loss of payroll)
4) The corporate philosophy (and documentation) that payroll is an EXPENSE and not a necessity.
If you don't believe #4 check out some tax documents for big corporation or even big non-profits.
Payroll is listed as an expense, and usually is a large one sometimes LARGER than shrink. And because of that it will ALWAYS be a target by corporate.
What you
SAs,
former SAs,
reformed lifters,
mid- to low-level retail professionals or
public commentators (and TBH why are you even speaking lol)
don't know is: that "shRiNk caUsEs PayRoLl CuTs" line is miniscule, technically-true bullshit.
#4 is why minimum wage raises are ALWAYS a fight.
#4 is why healthcare, and EMPLOYEE healthcare and benefits are always being rearranged and fought over.
#4 is why automation is more and more attractive to companies
#4 is why budget is always being talked about
#4 is why expenses are always targeted
These companies don't love you.
They love large profit margins and they will cut any expense and feed people any bullshit to do so. When done externally it's called "marketing". When done internally, it's called "management".
Lifting
Demonstrates a need for live, human workers and even LP if lifting is high enough
is not as high of an expense as people think
Demonstrates, like all consumer activity, that prices are too high for a demand.
Demonstrates, unlike all consumer activity, pinpoints the price/store as the problem for low sales of a product and does that leave room for excuses like low demand or poor packaging
Is the both the best praxis and the purest form of ancap. The people should not be feared, mentally battered, and milked simply because they are of a lower economic class. And if companies don't want a negative consumer response, they should meet the consumer demand: lower ya prices.
Is the oldest crime in humanity, like sex work is the oldest profession. It is up to humanity to accept it as part of itself. And we all should know by now that legality is not equal to morality.
Let this be the one of the final posts of this "debate" because I'm tired of hearing outsiders or snitches shoveling bullshit onto this tag to get some dopamine by shitting on another citizen's hustle and they don't even know shit about retail.
Reblogging again for THIS ^^
beautifully said!
is it just me or?
is the lifting community super dead ATM?
yes
Was thinking this the other day
i know i already commented but i’ve been thinking …. it might also be a combination of new l!fters going unrecognised and ppl just plain not reblogging things,,, when i go actively hunting for new l!fters to follow i see a lot of bby l!fters posting their cute hauls, some big n some lil, which usually only garner 0 - 6 notes on average. since many of our older l!fters r deleted or inactive, it’s up to the rest of l!ftblr to seek out newcomers and our own entertainment. follow them! talk to them! give them tips and reblog their hauls!! also, on the subject of reblogging… i’ve always got a nice amount of notes but the majority of them r likes and those lil notes-only comments now rather than reblogs. so many conversations can be started, so many posts can be made popular if! people! just! reblog!!!! like, have u got a comment? then reblog and add it! look in the notes and find someone who already added a comment to a post and reblog that so u can start a comment chain! bring some life to ur blog ppl often complain about it being dead here, but it’s a rare thing when someone actually does something about it lol
This!!! ^^
Also my lifting blog is a side blog so I don’t follow most of you because I’m lazy.
lets get one thing straight
before you make that post about entitled teenagers shoplifting from stores and how they're scum, remember that most retail stores don't punish their employees and actually have money set aside for to pay for shoplifting. and shoplifting is a literal addiction for many people. you wouldn't go on tags for people addicted to drugs and tell them to stop and expect them to stop just because some stranger on tumblr said so.
REBLOG if you are a lifting blog that is still ACTIVE! My dash is dead and I want to add all you lovely lifters ♥
Did I already reblog? Doin it again
