So basically this is an Au where the season 3 fight went wrong. They managed to damage LBD mech temporarily stoping the worlds annihilation however a winter apocalypse swept over the continent. Everyone ended up injured and separated, Macaque and Mk ended up together and are basically being hunted down by a still possessed Wukong :3

ive been moving recently and have had less than zero time to do any art, and that has no sign of stopping. which is great for the almost start of artfight ;-; artistically we picked a bad time tbh

im feeling brave so ill share a hot take: i don't like when people call wukong, or macaque, or any other characters mk's dads. mk already has a dad, and i think it does a disservice to their relationship to call other characters his dads.
no shade to the people who do like those headcanons, especially since before season 4 mk doesn't have any acknowledgement of parents outside of one dadsy joke in sleep bug, but i will not portray this dynamic in any of my works and request that no one project these headcanons onto them.
so first off, again: mk already has a dad and it's pigsy.
the only other character i'm fine calling mk's dad is tang because freenoodles is heavily implied within the show, tang has been around since mk was a toddler, and sees himself as a "bit of a father figure" to mk too.
season 5 making the "many dads" joke (in imo the episode with the worst characterization of the cast we've seen in the entire show, sorry but it's genuinely the only episode i can't rewatch) boils my blood because the last season had several scenes with mk saying no, i already have a dad, it's not monkey king. its acknowledging a fandom joke instead of sticking true to character :,)
not to mention, we all know wukong (and macaque!) would be?? a pretty terrible father??? i dont know why so many people are so ready to make these other characetrs a dad when they have so many other issues they need to work through before they could even think about handling parenthood. like its actually a pretty good thing they arent his dad!
the other dad headcanons also do a disservice to the time pigsy (and likely tang, as a second father or not) spent raising mk and Stepping Up to this unexpected responsibility. pigsy couldve said no and turned mk in as an abandoned baby, but instead he took on the challenge of raising a kid he knew nothing about.
yes, there is a whole discussion to be had about mk and pigsy not calling each other father and son for the first 3 season—i can and will get into why i think that happened (narratively and on the production side) if anyone really wants to hear my thoughts—but pigsy still stepped up. he still calls mk his son and mk still calls him his dad. no one else.
with all this in mind, any of my sunburst, soysauce or other duo posts will never be paternal. i view wukong and mk as some sort of messed up not-quite sibling dynamic, where they're related and similar to siblings but the exact relation is unclear. and i think it works for them! i think ambiguous family dynamics are interesting.
