Do remember this did not start on October 6th/7th that was a retaliatory attack after 74 YEARS of genocide. this has absolutely been the deadliest year but it is not the first year of genocide or occupation by any means and that attack never would’ve happened if it weren’t for nearly a century of occupation and genocide
Can I say how much I love Whispers depiction in the IDW comics?? I have not read Tangle & Whisper yet or the full series but. God she's such a great character.
When she's introduced, she's nervous, and barely says anything to either Silver or Sonic, and still doesn't even when she tags along to help them defeat Neo-Metal Sonic. But absolutely no character is pushy with her- everyone respects her space, and never forces her into any situation she doesn't want to be in, like dragging her into social stuff that she isn't prepared for. She's *allowed* to be quiet, and not very outgoing, nervous and barely speak, and literally everyone is so chill about it.
She barely says anything, and only replies in short one to two word sentences, and as someone who is both socially anxious and has a very hard time articulating my thoughts verbally,.. it's literally so nice..? I get so overwhelmed by crowds and noises, and for most of my life never been given the room to just... relax and regain my composure, especially in more public settings.
AND the fact that Silver like. ACTUALLY takes the time to understand it's wonderful
What a terrible world we live in where you can google wild plants or bugs because you're interested in them and the first results are all "how do I kill this"
Where is the whimsy? Where is the kindness? Where is the love for the world we live in and the creatures we share it with? How did we reach this point?
Would a Bugsnax Sequel be Possible?
!!Spoilers Ahead!!
Everyone's abandoned the island, and having their own lives and things. But we do have *some* stuff that could point to the possibility of a sequel game (Clumby, the Strabby off the boat)
Here's the thing though. What would it even look like..? Like the game loop. Bugsnax, while it has a great story never relied fully on the story either and also on the very fun mechanic of catching and collecting bugsnax, and the problem solving that came with that. Would the sequel have to force us back to the island for some semblance of gameplay, or would we be in the city with all the grumpus things that come with it? Or would the island come to us, with the escaped Strabby? I mean. I wouldn't mind a more dialogue heavy game (Especially if it's all voice acted like in the first!! That'd be so amazing!!) But I feel like I might miss catching the little bug friends if the sequel mostly involved Clumby/Grumpinati drama :(( idk maybe I'm just too much of an entomologist to go without snack themed bug catching. I really enjoyed that part LOL- maybe I lack imagination

It's Time To Investigate SevenArt.ai
sevenart.ai is a website that uses ai to generate images.
Except, that's not all it can do.
It can also overlay ai filters onto images to create the illusion that the algorithm created these images.
And its primary image source is Tumblr.
It scrapes through the site for recent images that are at least 10 days old and has some notes attached to it, as well as copying the tags to make the unsuspecting user think that the post was from a genuine user.
No image is safe. Art, photography, screenshots, you name it.
Initially I thought that these are bots that just repost images from their site as well as bastardizations of pictures across tumblr, until a user by the name of @nataliedecorsair discovered that these "bots" can also block users and restrict replies.
Not only that, but these bots do not procreate and multiply like most bots do. Or at least, they have.
The following are the list of bots that have been found on this very site. Brace yourself. It's gonna be a long one:

The oldest ones have been created in March, started scraping in June/July, and later additions to the family have been created in July.
So, I have come to the conclusion that these accounts might be run by a combination of bot and human. Cyborg, if you will.
But it still doesn't answer my main question:
Who is running the whole operation?
The site itself gave us zero answers to work with.
No copyright, no link to the engine where the site is being used on, except for the sign in thingy (which I did.)
I gave the site a fake email and a shitty password.
Turns out it doesn't function like most sites that ask for an email and password.
Didn't check the burner email, the password isn't fully dotted and available for the whole world to see, and, and this is the important thing...
My browser didn't detect that this was an email and password thingy.
And there was no log off feature.
This could mean two things.
Either we have a site that doesn't have a functioning email and password database, or that we have a bunch of gullible people throwing their email and password in for people to potentially steal.
I can't confirm or deny these facts, because, again, the site has little to work with.
The code? Generic as all hell.
Tried searching for more information about this site, like the server it's on, or who owned the site, or something. ANYTHING.
Multiple sites pulled me in different directions. One site said it originates in Iceland. Others say its in California or Canada.
Luckily, the server it used was the same. Its powered by Cloudflare.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with any of this information.
If you have any further information about this site, let me know.
Until there is a clear answer, we need to keep doing what we are doing.
Spread the word and report about these cretins.
If they want attention, then they are gonna get the worst attention.
Also, to spot these out there in the wild, pay attention to their most common usernames:
Gibberish (like; vhrjatikh)
Something-something-blog (like; autocurrentboisssblog)
Something-something-numbers-blog (like; autocurrentboisss1985blog)
Name-blog (like jasminezyrrikkkkblog)
For now, it is the safest to block, report and remove any followers you gain with such username as there is a high chance for it to be one of these bots.
common moth archetypes I’ve encountered
MANY PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED BY WHY so I will post these images and not elaborate ( genus Caloptilia )

For those curious here is the Evangelion moths or some of my fav examples

Water Penny Beetles
Fellow bug friends ... May I introduce you to water penny beetles- I stumbled upon them for the first time this summer, and my dumbass thought I discovered some extant species of trilobite (never seen water penny beetles before or even heard of them surprisingly) but no!!! These are little beetles!
Bless you little critters of the world- this is their larval stage when they look like little trilobites- they have gills and are an indicator of water quality like mayflies! They eat algae
This is their adult stage!! So round and very silly
almost forgot to post today hooh
Fan Bugsnax Art
Two bugsnax concepts- a jelly donut ostracod and salmon fillet sea cucumber thing- I honestly can't come up with much, I would really love to make a beewolf bugsnax or a wolf spider with spidetkings, but I have 0 clue how to fit it with a food. Also forgive the sheen, I can't make digital art currently
Fanmade Bugsnax Species
Do my fellow bugsnax fans have any cool fan bugsnax ideas? I can think of a few, like a pelican spider bugsnax or a wasp of some sort but not what foods they might be- I am much more well versed in insects and bugs than foods. I think a pudding bugsnax would be fun- also more aquatic bugsnax, a diving beetle bugsnax would be so cute
@pastelsilkmoth submitted: Found this little guy in [removed]! (remove location please!) Any clue on what it might be?
Yup, it's a box tree moth, Cydalima perspectalis. They are not native where you live :(
Sometimes a creature runs into view and you just know it's something special even before you get a good look at it. This bizarre ant-like wasp (Embolemus nearcticus) belongs to the same superfamily as the shiny green cuckoo wasps (Chrysidoidea). Never heard of this one! I love her.
She'd have been a lifer if I had actually heard of this species beforehand, which, while I'm an advocate for having Lifer Bugs, makes the thought a little amusing. How many more Lifers will I encounter that I have not heard of currently? 😀
Growing up I always watched movies, documentaries, tv shows and read books about atrocities committed by people in history and thought.. how did this happen and why did no one do anything? Why did governments not intervene? Why did public figures not speak out? How did they get away with it? it? Most importantly how did human treat other humans like that? Where was the compassion?
I'm ashamed to say that in 2024 I now have the answers. The government's gas lighting and complicity, the media dehumanising, ignoring and bias reporting, the huge companies funding and supporting, the public figures choosing to stay silent, the ordinary person pretending "they don't know enough" this is how we've allowed this to happen time and time again..
In the past we could forgive people for not having enough information, not having access to it, not being able to hear the stories of the horrors, to be able to see it with their own eyes..
In 2024 you can't pretend you "don't know enough" you can't pretend you don't see innocent children, men, and women being brutally killed by sadistic, genocidal leaders and their war crimes.. you can't ignore the 100's and 1000's of videos, images, stories and people who are telling you what is happening.. the sheer horror of images we are seeing.. you can't ignore the countless protests, discourse, conversations, posts, live feeds etc.. history will judge your inaction, your silence, your ignorance..
This is not a war.. this is a genocide.. this is massacre.. there are no sides..
Also please don't forget the innocent people suffering in Sudan and Congo they need our voices too!
I am in love with the world
One of my favorite things when you start to learn about ecosystems and species is the constant one-upping of organisms throughout evolutionary history (obviously I'm being a bit silly and anthropomorphizing here haha but)
Oh, you can trap me in your webs?? Well, I have detachable scales!! (Moths and butterflies) And then orb weaver spiders were like: 'What bs' and created sticky webs and some even 'fish' for moths with long threads they leave hanging- it's just so incredible, and wondrous to me- there's so many amazing things to learn about the creatures who call this planet home- like photuris fireflies who light up in the same patterns of different firefly species and then eat the males they attract
