i will love you on those days when you come home feeling alone and heavy. i can't say i will always understand, but i will give you my arms and let you rest against me. brush my fingers through your hair as you try to forget. listen to you as you spill words you've only ever thought of, and struggle with emotions you've never come to terms with. so bring your day home with you, you won't ever have to carry it alone. we can walk together through the halls of your past, visiting all the rooms you hate but can't quite forget. we can take our time exploring and i'll pretend i don't know why my shoulder's gotten all wet.
