She had absolutely had her parents back at the decision to not sell their shop. It was something they worked hard to build so many years ago and to keep. Sure the shop had seen better days and they needed to make repairs but she grew up here, she spent more time in their shop than she did at home. John’s harassment was absolutely infuriating, and when her parents told her they were afraid of him, well she decided to step in and handle things herself.
‘I am giving your folks a choice here,…’
Her fists her clenched at her side and her jaw was clenched. Bullshit. If it weren’t for the armed cultists behind him she’d of punched his stupid fucking smile off his face. “You’re such a fucking asshole, John.” She didn’t want to see this place owned by someone else, but she didn’t want her parents dead and this place burnt to the ground. Choose the lesser of two evils.
Kaliya turned before he could see that she had teared up, and retreated inside to get the documents. It wasn’t worth her family’s lives, but it still hurt a lot to lose their livelihood. After a few minutes she returned with the papers he asked for and slapped them against his chest. “I hate you so fucking much right now it almost makes me sick to even look at you.”
Her disdainful remark had likely been intended to hurt him but John Seed forgets to frown. In fact, he feels nothing but a sense of complacency at her attitude. Easy win. After she presents him with the papers (quite rudely!) he smiles something hollow.
“You are not the first one to tell me this and you won’t be the last, I assure you.” John gives the documents a quick review and then looks over Kaliya’s shoulder into the antique shop. “Are your folks here? Would you be a sweetheart and go get them, I have a deed that I’ve written for them and they must sign it.” Not that it is a necessity now that the Project is taking properties by unlawful means, but he will do things by the book when convenient. After all, acquisition is what he does best, isn’t it?
Shifting her weight to one leg and crossing her arms, her inability to mask her anger was glaringly obvious on her face. Let it be known that being a sweetheart for him was not ever going to happen. She would rather drink drain cleaner than be any sort of friendly or kind to him. “They aren’t here right now, and frankly I don’t want them signing anything for you.” She absolutely did not trust him, and did not want her parents signing anything that had to do with him or Edens Gate.
“Why the hell do you even care about shit being all legal now, all you’ve been doing lately has been harassing us and making violent threats. You got what you wanted, now leave us the fuck alone.” Kaliya pushed past him, making her way to go find Mary May or maybe pastor Jerome. She needed to not be around John anymore.
“Oh, and do pass on a big ole ‘fuck you’ from me, to your bat-shit crazy family.”
