Welcome to this hovel where I basically am going to randomly write thoughts and concepts for a Helluva Boss Rewrite I am working on. There is so much that can and has been said about the series as a whole and other people have and still are covering that. I'm over here just dumpster diving this trash heap to pull out the rare and random little treasures that exist and try to put them together in a way that feels like someone put any thought into the story.

I plan to be posting this series on AO3 as I get into production, but wanted to dabble here as a pre-production concept. Just kinda yammer about how I write and world build and the characters and such.

Lmfao the whole episode was about him taking over a month to call his daughter and how he’s a terrible father actually but the narrative insists we should feel bad for him and it’s really fucking gross.

And if the writers have any idea on how to write, the poor thing is actually going to be a constant in Stolas’ character. The issue isn’t that Stolas sucks, it’s that he sucks and we are told he doesn’t and even when he does it’s actually not his fault. But yknow, media literacy is dead.

You know what bugged me the most about Apology Tour? No it wasn't Stolas being a manipulative duplicitous piece of shit and the narrative trying to make him the good guy despite that.

It was how shamelessly the writers ripped off the gift basket gag from that episode where Butters thinks Cartman is a ghost. There's referencing something but putting your own twist on it, and then there's just being lazy and derivative. Helluva Boss went with option B

Viv's got this way of stealing things where she completely fails at making it funny, either in the way it was originally intended or some new way that's all her own. It's almost impressively incompetent.

Pretty much. It was also her convention costume and she's a fan of both Alex and Pentious, so it's not like she shelled out $50 as some kind of "gotcha" to a show she hated.

At worst, it was a little weird, but you've got people accusing her of trying to rape Alex and god, how I wish I was exaggerating.

It’s always funny how obviously obsessed with mlm Vivziepop is to the point it derails every single story she’s ever worked on.

it did the same thing in zoophobia it seems and that’s funny considering I found a photo from her blog at 18 stating she didn’t like yaoi that much. Oh how the times change.

Look, I'm not saying you do it, but a lot of the haters (especially on twitter, ofc it's twitter), actually want fans to feel bad for liking the show, they may not express it clearly, but you can tell they want ppl to feel bad for enjoying the series.

But what could I expect from twitter, a hellpit with a bunch of psychos, the only hellhole that can rival the most rabid Hellaverse stans, but I'm counting only the normal fans on the equation here

It's retaliation at this point. Fans abused the shit out of other fans who were just more critical of the show and APPARENTLY had a founded concern for the direction the show was heading, which turned into a lynch mob against critics which has resulted in the same mud they threw first being thrown back.

Retaliatory abuse isn't on the same level as the initial abuse. First off. Second, the whole point is to kill the show. I need you to feel so bad about liking the show that you stop buying merch, you stop sharing tweets, you stop talking about it with your friends because you don't want to be judged. I genuinely don't care if you still watch or like the show. I want you to feel so ashamed for it that you stop supporting it in any meaningful way.

I want it to burn and be shameful because that's what the show deserves and if you insist on hanging on, that's your choice. Do it silently and in secret.

When Uncle Grandpa showed up in Steven Universe, they actually used that insane episode to further the mf plot. Like that fucking pill head foreshadowed that Rose was Pink Diamond when he told Steven how to care for his gem and then Steven eventually learned a massive skill that was repeatedly instrumental in the plot from that point forward.

What the fuck narrative reason is there to ever have Helluva and Hazbin overlap? What aspect of the story really requires that, like, at all?

Brandon Rogers being a pedophile isn't even hinted at. I'm sure this internet game of telephone turned out that stupidity, but let's keep something straight, it's Onision who is the pedophile. Dating a 15 year old Lainey/Kai/Lucas according to his own videos ("Her dad told me to come back in ten years when she's 25" [Greg was 24 at the time]).

He was working with Onision as recently as 2018. Which maybe that isn't a big deal to you, but at the same time he was working with Brandon (January 2018) he left a friend's baby who he was supposed to watch in their dirty diaper for hours until the baby was literally bleeding.

Later that same year Sarah, then 17 (whom they had been grooming since she was 14) came to live with them (again).
