I try to avoid thinking
“It’d be cool to be a [enter any species or person or other life form typehere]”
Because I reeeeeaaaaaally don’t want to be reincarnated
Just so y'all know, different colors have different meanings in different cultures. Color magic will work best with your associations according to your practice.
This but with dream interpretation too
Sometimes the gods will seem like they aren't there, but they are.
Sometimes you will feel like a small child learning how to ride a bike. You can feel the hands on your shoulders, you can hear their voice close by. Then, suddenly, you don't feel their hands and their voice is farther away.
They didn't abandon you in your time of need. They're watching you take everything they've taught you to apply it. They've got the band-aids if you need them, and they're standing at the top of the driveway watching.
They cannot pedal that bike for you. They cannot hold onto the bike so you never fall.
They're watching you and they are proud. They are proud even if you fall down or crash.
Don't panic. Now's your time to show them what you've learned! Go as far as you can. You're not alone.
ANTI-INSOMNIA SPELL JAR
Lavender
Chamomile
Rosemary
Amethyst chips
Rosebud
Bay leaf ash
Seal with white or purple wax.
To build off this as an experienced practitioner:
To fight a physical issue with magic might I suggest instead to turn these ingredients into a tea/potion and drink it (minus the amethyst chips and just use bay leaf itself not the ash)
You can add honey and milk as well to help. Meditate on it easing you into rest and relaxation as you brew it and drink it once you feel you’re magic taking effect in the potion. Make some extra as an offering to your deities or guides if you like as well.
I am not immune to the charms of a weird fucked up little creature
And that’s the story of how I got my goblin girlfriend 😌
Tell me a soft memory
My sister and I sitting in an empty living room (we were replacing the carpets soon so there was no furniture) eating chicken and beef ramen out of the pot at 3 am talking about our Pottermore profiles
I'm saying this from a place of genuine care: if you are seeing ghosts or shadows or having nightmares... and sageing, eggshells, Crystal's, and psychics arent cutting it..
Please.. please... check for things like gas leaks, water damage, vermin. I'm not saying your house isnt haunted, I'm just saying that carbon monoxide poisoning looks a LOT like being haunted.
I know that, you know that, but when it looks like supernatural things you look to supernatural solutions and you might not be thinking clearly.
I'm having a conversation with a pagan mom right now who thinks that dark forces are after her, so she's tried all the things that she knows... which apparently is not checking the hvac system for leaks.
Shes mad at me because I suggested getting an inspection because shes lived in the house for 14 years and she's always seen things like this and it's just gotten worse since she took over the house. Shes seeing entities, things are moving on their own, doors open and close on their own, people are being touched and scratched. 'Mold and gas dont do that!'
Drafty house. Uneven floors. Pressure changes.
Toxic mold syndrome can mimic depression and anxiety, cause listlessness. Guess what extreme anxiety can do. It can mess with your head. It can mess with your memory.
If you have scratches on you and you dont know where they came from, see a doctor. See a doctor. I dont know why you wont see a doctor. They can tell you if it comes from an animal. They can tell you if you're suffering from a mold allergy. They can tell you if you're experiencing side effects of gas exposure.
I wholeheartedly believe in ghosts. Absolutley not debating that ghosts and spirits and whatever you think you're seeing. I am posting this in a pagan facebook group. I 100% believe in ghosts.
I also believe in carbon monoxide.
Please check for gas leaks in your home. Please check for mold. Please check for critters. Like girl I believe you but please check these things.
— Even the Gods, Nicole Sealey
[text ID: Even the eyes of gods must adjust to light. Even gods have gods.]
I’m not a classicist, but I suspect one of the reasons so many of the Greek gods are portrayed so unflatteringly was less because they were seen as villains than because they represented their domains. Of course Zeus sometimes misuses his power, that’s what a king does. Of course Artemis’s wrath is wild and painful, that’s what nature can be. Of course Hades snatched away a young girl from her mother’s arms, that’s what death does. This is one of the reasons callout posts for some gods comparing them negatively to ‘nicer’ gods are kind of missing the point.
as someone who is partially a classicist, this is a better analysis of Greek mythology as a whole than 99.95% of the takes I’ve seen on here (and a substantial number of the takes I’ve seen in ~academia~)
“Gods are capricious because they fully represent the facets of nature they’re the gods of, for both good and bad” is a very solid take and I think that should be taught because it goes back to the actual root of theology: Explaining the thing you cannot explain.
“Why should rich people pay more” because fuck ‘em
“So you are okay for paying more when you have money” I am not excluded from ‘fuck ‘em’ when relevant
“I am not excluded from ‘fuck ‘‘em’ when relevant” is surprisingly powerful as both a statement and philosophy
Okay so worship and any focus on my craft has gone down the crap chute. Chronic pain is a bitch and is ruling my life, I love my deities I do small acts of devotion when I have energy to spare. But to the gods I wish they could find a medications that alleviates a good portion of the pain. So Hekate and Hermes devotees what are your simple low energy acts of devotion?

When I don’t have any energy for a deeper quality time spent with my gods, I haves a few devotions I can give to them. Hermes really likes it when I like his candle and then tell him about my day. I like to tell Hermes a story or to pull a couple of tarot cards asking how he’s doing today. He also really likes it when I light his candle and then we watch TV things together or I read to him — he’s particularly fond of vampire diaries and the owl house. And sometimes I will devote the act of drinking my coffee and the small joys through the day to him, if I’m not offering to make him a cup or food or whatever. He also really likes it when I go on a short walk or go outside and look at the stars/sky/birds. He also is really big fan of feeding your local wildlife like getting good wild bird seed. You can write him a letter a poem a song. Sing or hum or play your favorite music in general to him. He likes it when you learn new cuisines or eat something new it doesn’t have to be fancy.

Describe your witchcraft aesthetic with 3 sentences.
Small containers of rice and alcohol left sitting around.
Wandering around with one pocket full of peanuts, one pocket full of feathers, and one hand full of birch switches.
Whispering secrets to the garden and hoping the neighbors don't hear.
Candles and bonfires galore because we like domesticated arson around here.
Having a stockpile of yarn and thread, leading people to wonder if she's a hoarder or if she actually uses it all (the answer is both).
Cinnamon brooms of various sizes hung in each room, for both the looks and to keep the haints away.
Dripping wax on wooden altars and quiet bedroom conversations.
Pushing back the morning curtains to feel suns first kiss and exchange good mornings with the clouds.
Flowers at the roots of spirits and bird seed for forgotten gravestones.
Midnight moonlit stone circles with my gods, an obsidian pendulum dangles from my fingertips.
A hair stick wand, a tarot deck, eggshells and wishes all bottled up, a gifted metal frog totem; these scattered treasures and tools amidst the chapstick, coins, and receipts in my purse.
Whispers of love healing protection and strength into ingredients before dinner is served.
I NEED people to understand that condoms aren’t free because “MEN like to FUCK lol,” they’re free because thirteen thousand people die from AIDS every year in the US alone.
Stop framing free menstrual products as more essential than free condoms. They should BOTH be free.
This post has been going around again and I’d like to add something:
To everyone saying “but you can abstain from sex,” you are parroting the same thing that anti-choicers are telling people fighting for reproductive justice right this moment. Do you really want to die on the same hill as conservative Christian bigots?
Reproductive justice includes the right to safe sex.
(Also, since I didn’t link a source in the OP, according to the CDC, 36,801 people in the US & its territories received an HIV diagnosis in 2019 alone. Free condoms, accessible healthcare, and sex education all save lives!)
