Someone in a Discord I’m in commented a few times in how lazy the Kickstarter campaign looked, and I 100% agree.
The rewards are sloppy, and don’t seem to be worth most of the pledges.
(I do understand they’re rewards and not supposed to be monetarily equal to the pledge necessarily. But come on, guys.)
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they reached out to celebs or something, or had a “ringer” in wait.
I can’t wait to see what happens, no matter what.
Ps: apparently the TBTP mailing list or PNWS just rolled over into the PRA/Rabbits one, I saw people in the tag say? Y’all will have to let me know how they respond if they don’t meet the goal…..
It’s funny on the pateron for TBL, Paul said that he made less for two years doing the black tapes than he would have working at mcdonald’s for a year. He also said that he made the last episode on his own and it was $1000 paying for the cast of the Bright Sessions out of pocket with no commercials. TBL is an unestablished podcast and stuff, so I’m sure they don’t have the ad revenue that Rabbits does in general. So, I need to ask. WTF did he need $50k for?!
Also maybe if he hadn’t fucked the ending of TBT up, then he wouldn’t have such a hard time getting people to give him more money. Oh and don’t forget insulting people who have already given them money.
Terry Miles needs someone to hold his leash and tell him no and it makes me sad and angry for what could have been for TBT and TBL if their stupid finale kills it.

How’s everyone doing? I know this time of year can be super stressful…
Ignoring that it’s holiday season…. we’ve made it through Inktober, and we’re fresh off of NaNoWriMo (and Scrivember!), and we’re well into podcast Secret Santa season. There’s also the Yuletide fic exchange, and who knows what else.
But, we had an idea that we wanted to share with you guys. I know we’re normally a blog that’s pretty salty, and tends to point out a lot of negative or problematic things about the podcasts we love. But we wanted to do something different, something positive this month.
We all love to support podcasts, be it through Kickstarter, Patreon, fan works, word of mouth, whatever. But there’s something really simple that we can all do to help the podcasts we love, that a lot of us aren’t. And it doesn’t cost a dime.
Podcast reviews.
For the month of December, we want to encourage all of you, to make an effort to rate and review some (or all, heck, don’t let us put limits on you!) of the podcasts you listen to. Good, bad, somewhere in the middle- it doesn’t matter. Just be honest.
We do ask that you actually leave a review. Not just a star rating. (Especially if you’re leaving a lower star review.) Let the creators know why you’re rating it what you’re rating it. What’s good? What’s bad? How could they change your mind?
Also, try to discern whether something is objectively bad; or just not to your taste. For example: “It isn’t believable, it sounds like the actors are reading off the script,” could help a podcaster improve. However, “I’m sick of horror podcasts!!! One star!!! Stop making horror podcasts!!!” isn’t constructive or objective. (Salt is always welcome in our inbox- but let’s keep this activity positive and/or constructive! Otherwise, it defeats the purpose.)
Reviews can really make a difference to the people who make these podcasts. The more reviews a podcast gets, the better it’ll do on with the charts, and reviews help potential listeners know what to expect.
It also shows podcasters that we’re listening, and they aren’t just screaming into the void. Additionally, feedback helps them gauge how they’re doing, and what their audience thinks.
It’s an easy, free, and low pressure way to help support them and the content they give us.
Here’s what to do:
-Rate (and review!) the podcasts you listen to on the podcast app of your choice. Aim for at least one a day, but go for as many as you like! Bonus points if it’s a podcast with less than ten reviews. At that point, any extra reviews can make all the difference!
-Type something helpful or supportive in the review box. Whatever you do, just be honest. (And not hateful! That doesn’t help anyone. Hit up our ask box if you need to be snarky, friends.)
-Post on social media using the hashtag #audiodramaadvent . Share your review, share the podcasts you reviewed- whatever you like! Encourage your friends to do the same!
And finally, please share this post. The more people we get involved, the more love we can share with the podcasts we all enjoy.

Hello Black Tapes Fandom. this is Walkingfashiondisaster dot tumblr dot com coming out as the mun of askreagan/ask-reagan. Twice now, my Ask/RP blog (and askstrand/ask-strand, run by @azraeldigabriel) has been reported to tumblr staff for “impersonation” by, we suspect, the crew of PNWS. They are so anal about keeping keeping their story “real” that they will happily step all over their fanbase and supporters to do so.
Askstrand and I, and a few anonymous parties we interacted with, put our hearts and souls into writing these blogs only to have all our work deleted without notice.
Fandom is supposed to be fun, and the PNWS crew has made it very difficult for that to happen. I am going to have to seriously reconsider listening to the show because of this experience, and I would suggest that newcomers be very careful what work they are willing to put into this franchise, because I’m sure your talent would be much better appreciated elsewhere.
Don’t waste your time like we did.

They’re asking 50k for 8 episodes. They don’t explain how the money will be used, they say its not as much as they actually need- which, for reference… they’re asking almost 5 times the amount Wooden Overcoats did… AND it’s under Carly Parkers name, which blatantly violates Kickstarter’s terms.

i just finished the black tapes podcast and i wish i could say that my soul feels cleansed now that i am free of ever listening to any more PNWS content but honestly i am just burning up inside about how cheap that entire ending was
literally up until the last episode they kept introducing more puzzle pieces without ever telling us how or why they fit or even, yknow, what the picture was. and then there was the whole forced hetero romance thing (which i have never been a fan of because i did the math once and alex is in the same age range as charlie strand, yknow, richard’s own damn daughter???)
and howard strand is back for no reason, and literally none of the questions we had along the way got answered. we had all these things that we thought were going to be important to the plot, like coralee’s disappearance, and not a damn one of them mattered in the end.
i mean, at least they ended it instead of stringing us along for another couple years. that was decent of them.
