i once attended a english linguistics class in uni where the group of students facilitating the discussion on gender in linguistics introduced themselves with “i am [name] and i identify as she/her”. i was never so icked hearing something like that spoken unironically.

i get that an attempt at being inclusive was made, but in an english class where everyone was fluent in english, it emitted a glaring ignorance of gender identity and gendered pronouns; a certain (unintended?) backhandedness, even.

i’ve seen plenty of kawo//rei artworks that are absolutely beautiful but the biggest reason i can’t ship them seriously is bc their canon interactions give intense “my two brain cells judging each other” energy (imo)

i try to savour the potential in most ships and kawo//rei is the only other Kaworu ship that makes sense to me unironically, but i just start laughing whenever i think about them interacting. i blame this ↓ edit & the og scene and whatever went down in NTE 3.0 (Kuronami third wheeling kawoshin everywhere at the NERV ruins)

kawoshin may be my Eva otp but i actually like asu//shin too (my 2nd place Shinji ship). i just prefer not to tread that community bc of how deranged some people are. plus i only like asu//shin as a doomed ship ie. as exes or teenage crushes that didn’t ended up together. it’s a bittersweet, right-person-wrong-time dynamic that’s as delicious as ships doomed by death.
