Do you have any body hedcanons for kkhd? Like body shape and stuff like that
Yes i do!! For kakuzu, He would have a dad bod, still workouts to stay fit but i think he would still have some chub, also def hairy chest..def. Best way to describe his body shape is like dad bod or the body type el desperado has.
For hidan i think he would have a lean build, just enough muscle to fight, like swing his scythe around and shit. I also think he would have a fast metabolism.. i dont think he would have visible abs or anything, just a nice slim lean bod. I think he would have very faint scars too.
im lowk kinda bad at drawing anatomy but this is the best i got
more somewhat month old kakuhida art also deidara's here too. Say hi to deidara.

I love redrawing my own old arts and reinventing them.

Hidan to me is like. He’s that guy who’s raised in a tourist trap and he hates it, the labor is horrible and he has to deal with annoying tourists and customers and clients and put up with them. He’s the guy who wipes down the loads in the men’s sauna every time tourists have sex.
He had a bad habit of being kinda sadistic with the animals and a lot of people spoke ill of him for it. Which, fair. But he didn’t appreciate it. He was also kinda prodigal, like really good at fighting. Enough that when some nearby village got massacred, people actually thought this violent kid pulled it off.
That rumor may have been exaggeration but still. A lot of his violent urges were toned down at first with the monotony of his work but then the clients and the work caused it to fester and beg to be let out again.
And then all of a sudden you’ve got these reactionary groups who are like, back in the old days you didn’t have to put up with this. Back in the old days, men fought and killed and died for what they believed in. With honor!!! We had dignity. And it drives you a little mad thinking that if you’d been born a few generations earlier your society would’ve celebrated someone like you as you self-actualized into the hero you were supposed to be!!!
So you fall down this pipeline because look what they took from you!!! And on top of that the pipeline actually rewards you for your behavior by doing an experiment where killing people nets you immortality. You have no reason to stop. You have no reason to keep being the guy who wipes down the loads in the men’s sauna. So you go on a killing spree and free yourself from your tourist trap life.
Like it’s kinda funny and sad. Yugakure ended the cycle of violence but it could not end the cycle of economic exploitation and that inevitably created conditions for a generation that was frustrated by this lifestyle and took for granted what they’d moved on from to instead look forward to it.
And Kakuzu, he’s that old army vet who used to be a young and proud soldier/field medic until he fought in Vietnam or Korea or whatever and saw everyone around him die for money. He got thrown aside by his government when he came back home and he became disillusioned. He decided he wouldn’t take things lying down by becoming a homeless beggar like the rest of those losers so he became a criminal mercenary, organ trafficker, and off-the-books surgeon all in one.
Yeah he’s still hurting innocents too but every man for himself. As far as he’s concerned the only thing that matters are material realities. He doesn’t believe in social constructs like dignity or religion except as the eccentricities of tangible humans to navigate around.
And when he sees some young and dumb kid who’s never actually tasted the life he came from and has the audacity to worship it? Hoo boy it inspires a rage worse than what his previous partners did. The only reason Hidan isn’t ash or buried somewhere is because he can survive long enough for Kakuzu to realize what he’s doing and stop because like. Hidan’s his last chance and if he fucks this up Pain’s gonna lose his patience and decide Kakuzu’s the one who will be replaced instead. And while he doesn’t worship that Sage of Six Paths crap he knows damn well that cult came from the very tangible power the Sage wielded, which Pain now has.
#9 Hidan — Striker (ST)
Hidan operates as the striker and is the team’s primary source of unpredictability in the final third. He thrives on chaos, direct confrontation and individual execution. His defining characteristic is his complete disregard for tactical instructions. He frequently positions himself high up the pitch, often staying as close to the opposition defensive line as possible, regardless of the team’s structured build up. This positioning makes him a constant threat on transitions but also a difficult player to integrate into controlled attacking patterns. Hidan compensates his slow pace and lacking stamina with fearlessness and persistence. He consistently engages defenders directly, refusing to back down in physical or technical duels. His dribbling ability allows him to escape pressure in tight spaces, often relying on brute determination rather than finesse. Once in possession, Hidan becomes highly self focused. He rarely chooses to pass the ball, preferring instead to attempt shots or continue dribbling until a clear scoring opportunity presents itself. This makes him both a major offensive threat and a source of unpredictability within the team’s attacking structure. His finishing ability is one of his strongest attributes. He generates significant power behind his shots and maintains high accuracy when shooting under pressure. However, his limited spatial awareness means he doesn’t always manage to anticipate passes effectively, occasionally missing opportunities when he is not fully focused on the play. Hidan becomes visibly frustrated when other players score, often preferring to be the decisive figure in attacking situations.
Hidan is a direct, high risk striker who thrives on individual duels, physical confrontation and finishing opportunities. He does not operate within structured passing systems and instead focuses on creating and finishing chances independently. His presence forces defenders into constant physical battles and disrupts organised defensive structures.
Strengths:
Exceptional finishing power and accuracy
Fearless in physical and defensive pressure
Strong dribbling in tight attacking situations
Effective at disrupting defensive lines
Always positions himself as a goal threat
Weaknesses:
Limited spatial awareness
Rarely contributes to passing or link up play
Often ignores tactical instructions
Competitive ego can disrupt team harmony
Excessive aggression leads to frequent fouls and high risk of penalty cards
I adore how each of the akatsuki are a different facet of grief/loss. And it goes from most literal to most metaphorical:
Konan: Loss of home; loss of a loved one. Konan is the most obvious representation of grief. A war orphan, she lost everything she held dear. She lost her parents and her village along with them. Her home was devastated by a war that she was too young to comprehend. When she was finally old enough to do something about it, she lost the first and only love of her life. Her actions and attitude later in life are at least primarily motivated by/explained by his death. The mission of the akatsuki is literally structured upon her grief.
Sasori: Loss of a family. Sasori's goal in life is to live eternal--never to die and decay like those that were most important to him. Sasori never recovered from the absence his parents left in his life. Much like Konan, he seeks to somehow remedy this absence through control. Just like she parades Yahiko's body around, he constructs his puppets.
Kisame: Loss of allegiance. After sacrificing everything he could for his village, Kisame had to directly face the self-serving nature of his superiors, and it was his first introduction into the sphere of political corruption. It's so tragic that he cared so much about honesty and transparency, and he never was able to extricate himself from the macinations of others, whether it be fuguki or obito.
Kakuzu: Loss of trust. Kakuzu was betrayed by the village he was brought up to serve. The village that he was taught to believe had his best interests at heart. After surviving a suicide mission, he was rewarded with torture and prison. Any sense of faith or fidelity to anyone but himself died along with the village elders he slaughtered in his escape.
Hidan: Loss of empathy. It was so difficult to come up with a pithy line for Hidan, but I think empathy sums it up pretty well. Hidan is, definitionally, a reactionary. He couldn't stand that his village was moving away from the traditional ninja-for-hire economy (for reasons that aren't relevant right now but significant in their own right). He sought out individuals and institutions that validated his ideology and turned to violence in order to restore what he saw as the correct way of things. He claims to be spreading his message for the betterment of the people, but he is completely blinded by his egomania.
Deidara: Loss of purpose. Deidara is so interesting because he doesn't have a defining "moment" in which he experiences this loss. His loss is instead over time, starting when he was a teenager and ultimately culminating in his suicide. Deidara has this unflagging need to prove himself as the most true artist to ever exist, with the purest purpose that most clearly aligns with what "art" is supposed to be. But in doing so, he burns himself out, not unlike a star that collapses in upon itself under the sheer weight of what he's trying to do.
Nagato: Loss of innocence. Nagato *is* the akatsuki. He's the figurehead, and as such, his specific iteration of grief is most archetypal of what "the akatsuki", as an organization, represents. Nagaato was also an orphan. And similar to Konan, he also began to believe in something better, until Yahiko's death. But while I think Konan focuses on Yahiko's death itself, and mourns Yahiko the person, I believe that Nagato focuses on what Yahiko's death *represents*--the unending plight of the most oppressed. He assumed the role of leader after Yahiko's death, and it was only after Yahiko's death that the akatsuki switched its focus. Would go into what I believe the progression of the akatsuki mission statement to be, but I realize I'm just rambling rn lmao
Itachi: Loss of self. Itachi really destroyed and betrayed himself for nothing smh. He was brought into the shinobi system at such a young age. His "prodigy" status ultimately signaled him as someone to be taken advantage of--too young to understand that he was being manipulated and indoctrinated, but talented and "mature" enough to carry out the desires of his superiors. And ultimately, he sacrificed his own values and became a person that was hardly recognizable from the child he once was.
I'm deliberately not choosing to include Zetsu and Obito. Zetsu because he is a part of the larger akatsuki conspiracy and is therefore outside of the general "mission statement." Obito because I think he deserves his own post. He is the foundation of the "modern" (post 3rd ninja war) akatsuki. And I believe that it was his losses that shaped the modern (post-3rd ninja war) akatsuki into what it was--and he unknowingly sought out people experiencing the same grief as him for his conspiracy-organization
