Pride for you! Pride for a thousand years!!
you COME OUT to miette? you come out to her as queer? oh! oh! pride for mother! pride for mother for One Thousand Years!!!!
I could never find the right way to tell you, have you noticed I've been gone?
I love you guys but I think a lot of you are the kind of people who are susceptible to falling in with a cult.
Youâre right. We should all band together under a trustworthy and influential leader who can keep us safe from outside threats
they can pry graceâs chemical burns out of my cold dead hands
if yâall remember that time I wrote a fic where at any given time there were like 20-30 cats in a household and I acted like anything about that was normal please forgive me I was a dumb teenager
Grace and Rocky save stars
i think some of you dont like narratives or stories or characters i think you just like fanfiction tropes
protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later
And sometimes "narrative fulfillment" doesn't mean "the character overcomes their flaws" or even "the antihero is punished for their flaws"! sometimes it means the narrative says "wow was that fucked up or what? anyway i'm rod sterling"

also here is a whole website that not only has a shit ton of adventures and such but lets you search for any item or npc or whatever and see their stats and info at your fingertips
I came out as a lesbian to my conservative grandparents and I have more thoughts about this that Iâll have to write about and share eventually but the biggest thing that stood out to me was my grandfather saying that when he was growing up he worked on railroads and there was a single coffee shop where gay men were safe to go and hang out after midnight when no one else was around âbut things are different now and you can find your people just about anywhere nowadaysâ and his advice to me when it was all said and done was âfind your people because theyâre out there and donât let other peopleâs opinions about your sexuality keep you from being successful in lifeâ and I thought about how when they were young being called âgayâ was an insult and it wasnât even that long ago and while we still have a ways to go and the political world is terrifying (my partner and I got engaged the same weekend that the Supreme Court was deciding whether or not to ban gay marriage again in the US) I think it is important to acknowledge the hard-fought efforts of our community to make change and the victories we have seen.
The world hasnât changed enough to keep my grandparents from worrying about how I could be treated as a gay woman, but it has changed enough that they didnât bat an eye at the fact that I am.
I know this is also not the experience for everyone when they come out to their grandparents. Thereâs nothing that takes away the pain of that, but I can say you have the blessing of my own grandfather. âGay, trans, straight, you have to be a hundred percent yourself because thatâs the only way you and your unique capabilities can add something to this world,â is what he told me. He made me promise I would âdrop the sieve Iâve been looking through my whole life and start living as myselfâ and I think that promise should extend to all of us.
i love it and hate it when a character in a story is so obviously created to be cool and awesome and then i do think they're cool and awesome. like fuck, yeah, ok, they're fucking epic. swag as hell. you got me you coolbaited me ok? i'm coolbaited.
What to do if you find yourself homless- written by someone who has actually been homeless
Most important: Spend the money you have on a motel. Churches probably will not actually help and shelters can be dangerous or turn you away. At a motel you have free breakfast, access to running water, and a lockable place to sleep. Do not waste money on a gym membership like the popular version of this post says to do, YMCA memberships are like $40.
2. Contact family and friends. Now is not the time to worry about being a burden. Your survival and safety comes first and that is all that matters, anyone worth having in your life will agree.
3. Start a gofundme. Even if someone canât offer you a place to stay, they might be willing to toss out $5 so you can eat today.
4. Libraries have free wifi. Apply to any and all jobs you can think of if you arenât already working.
5. Any home is a good home. Even if itâs a dingy apartment in a bad neighborhood. If its cheap and you can afford it, snatch it up.Â
6. Pancake mix and peanut butter are filling, cheap, and last a long time.
PLEASE SHARE THE FUCK OUT OF THIS
Addendums:
1) Long stay hotels are NOT cheap when you add it up, but they can work for a week or so.
2) It is imperative you find someone willing to let you use their address for local job applications and security screenings. It needs to be someone willing to let you check the mail/give your mail to you who lives in the area youâre trying to find work in.
3) You have a higher chance of accessing emergency social services if youâre actually sleeping outside in an area where they can reach you. Itâs fucked up, but if youâre going that route your situation needs to look as dire as possible.
a tip i got from a woman who works with the homeless: if you have to pick between spending money on food or on shelter, pick shelter and go to the food bank. itâs easier to get food from the food bank than to get free shelter, and shelter gives you more opportunities.
also, check out any clothing depots in your area. we have one connected to our food bank. they can help you with clothes for a job interview, work boots, etc.
libraries also have so much to offer! like op mentioned they have free wifi (and wonât kick you out like businesses), but you can also ask librarians about services they offer such as seminars or any technology you can borrow. theyâre also a good safe place to hang out during the day to get out of the heat/cold.
find out about cool off/warm up places in your area. you can usually find these by looking up local harm reduction agencies. harm reduction agencies do a lot of essential work, and the people there will be able to help you. harm reduction encompasses more than just drug use, and those organizations have experience working with the homeless.

When people argue that food from Chinese and Mexican restaurants in the US are not 'real' representations of that culture's cuisine ignore the historical reality that these dishes were developed by diasporic communities striving to recreate the flavors of home with available resources. Such criticism frames adaptation as a loss of authenticity, rather than recognizing it as a sincere and evolving expression of culture by people separated from their homeland.

My favorite part about growing up in a fandom is that now ten years later I get to watch all my favorite fan creators branch out into (and find success in) their own original projects. Phenomenal work you guys Iâm so excited to see where you go from here.
not gonna lie being in a consistent habit of publishing fanfiction for the past 10 years has prepared me for submitting to literary magazines in a way I didnât expect
I lied itâs still absolutely terrifying holy shit
