Oh I HATE him. I really HATE him
It's just me and my 13k word document of commentary on the entire Alex Rider book series against the world huh
i see a lot of posts about alex and artemis meeting or alex meeting butler but has anyone talked about yassen and butler meeting. what would that be like
Alex and Mrs. Jones at Ian's funeral.
I just finished Alex Rider Season 3 (and as someone who has read the books all the way up to 'Never Say Die'), I'm even more intrigued by John Rider. But what I really want to know was how the dynamic was between him and his brother Ian.
I imagine John, as the sibling everyone immediately loved, was the most charismatic person ever. Was probably incredibly smart and was great at anything he tried. And Ian was probably good at a lot of stuff, too, but John was just always better.
Can you imagine having to live up to John Rider? (Even in his death, he still haunts the narrative) I don't know, maybe there was some resentment from Ian, always trying to be better but never the best. And then suddenly, John and Mary are dead, and he now has custody over his nephew who looks and acts so much like his dead brother at every turn but now has to swallow any feelings he had about John, negative or otherwise cause he has to take care of Alex cause they're all they have of each other now.
I love how while only 3 series into Alex Rider TV we really see the jaded, angry Alex we get by the end of the entire book series. The realities of a child spy are much more obvious in the show and something I really enjoy seeing explored
proper gentleman
i love that Alex is truly incapable of not getting into trouble. every opportunity he has to show someone up or piss them off he takes it 😭😭
Alex Rider + Hugs with Alex
Ready for the ball!
i can appreciate that his most secure method is to see what works without thinking things through 🙌👑
Tom is wearing a shirt that says “the book was better” 😭 that’s so funny
finished ark angel. this book was so crazy and i wanted to post a billion things more, but settled for appreciation of how alex’s snark never changes
also it's really fucked up at a teacher at Brookland saw Alex talking to a strange man and walked away.
...the whole school knew that there was something odd about him. [...] Mr. Wiseman decided to ignore the situation. Alex could look after himself and he would doubtless turn up later. He hoped. (pg. 26)
honestly it is no wonder MI6 has been able to take advantage of Alex twice already, considering how every adult in Alex's life continues to fail him :[
fighting for my life trying to finish ark angel with that 1 person waiting behind me 😭 i want to believe it’s the same person who has been waiting for every other alex rider book i’ve checked out, too. we are in tandem 🤝
Yassen Gregorovich and the morons he works with; Season Two round-up
