"Google AI Overview court loss in Germany could spell doom for AI search industry."

anon hater just accused me of (among other things) "encouraging kids to install malware on their parents' computers". I don't remember ever doing that but it sounded like a fun concept for a post so here are some ideas for things to install on your parents' computers!
a custom DNS resolver that blocks access to Fox News and other right-wing propaganda outlets
a keylogger to capture the admin password for your router so you can disable parental controls
a VPN or a virtual machine running the Tor browser to bypass access restrictions and age verification checks
your own "parental controls" browser extension, set up to send you notifications if your parents visit websites that indicate they might be spying on you (e.g. Life360)
a userscript that adds a fake virus warning popup to the donation pages of fascist political parties
have fun! make sure to do loads of reading and learn how things work so you can break them safely and effectively!
oh, and anon, my advice to you is never stab a man who collects knives
Op what is this VPN/Tor browser method to bypass age verifs. Can we know more?
I haven't had any age verifs forced on me yet but I want to be prepared
companies are generally only doing age verification in countries where they have to, for the simple reason that it costs them money to do it.
if you can trick a website into thinking you're in a country without those requirements, you can usually bypass the verification process.
I generally use exit nodes in Iceland, which has some of the strongest digital privacy legislation in the world and as far as I know is unlikely to do this ID bullshit anytime soon.
if i were in charge of star wars i would end the last movie witth yoda reading the story out of a big book and he gives a little chuckle and says "happened, none of that did." and then he gets out of his truck and waddles into walmart
this gif is like... almost biblical. as if hes experiencing a pharaohs curse...
For those who thought that this was Nintendo baiting people into posting videos for them to take down, (as I initially did, admittedly), it’s actually people posting pictures of YouTube takedown notices. Nintendo didn’t bait anyone...They walked into a metaphorical garden rake.
Okay, that's funny.

It was important to me that she puts emphasis on the TOK
IDK who needs to hear this but if there's something in your life that makes you feel better, but you never stick to it,
it's still actually perfectly fine to do it
and you shouldn't stop yourself from starting just because it won't be a permanent change.
Like if starting a new daily planner gives you an amazing afternoon of planning and four days where you feel in charge of your life,
why not do it?
It doesn't matter that it won't be a permanent change - 4 good days is still worth it.
If you ever catch yourself thinking, "I wish I could pray/stretch/prep/plan/do the thing, but I always get started on that and it never lasts more than a couple of days,"
what this really means is, "hey, I can feel better for a couple of days."
if this post is making you think of things in your own life that you wish you could stick to because of how good they make you feel,
just be aware:
you're not thinking of a list of ways you've failed to commit
you're thinking of a list of things that make you happy, and you should give yourself permission to start doing them as often as you want to
Something that really helped me with this kind of thing (and I still struggle with it) is to take the tracking out of it.
So you did it for 4 days and then stopped. Who cares. You're allowed to not do something sometimes. The question is do you want to do it today. Not tomorrow. Not for the next week or month or year. Do you want to do it today? Then make time for it.
Taking the "failure" of a routine out and the "necessity" of future attempts out keeps me from feeling overwhelmed by it. "Oh I can't possibly do this every day" Then don't, but do you want to do it today?
Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
Something about me is that due to Allergy Reasons I have had extremely little fast food in my life but a culvers location has opened near me and this particular one will let you ask for gluten free fries & I haven't stopped thinking about them. I need more. The texture is so much better than the baked fries I've been having at home. I need Oil. I feel like the united states military
Being a celiac haver whose family went gluten free when I was a baby so I simply haven't Had a lot of Normal People Foods makes me feel like a space alien but it's so good when I Do get to have them. Just found out about fries. Like fried in oil fries. They come in a little paper cup and everything. I'm entering my fries era
Vulcan in starfleet who starts trying Earth foods & gets really into various forms of fried potatoes. It's similar to some baked plomeek bullshit they ate at home but a little bit heavier which is nice for staying warm in the colder climate. Having a great time with a completely blank expression
And that Vulcan's name is Sēliak
That's so fucking true. I love them. They can't digest the proteins in certain grains because they don't exist on their planet
Sēliak's human pal: oh lol your dietary restrictions are kinda similar to this medical condition in humans
Sēliak: what is this condition called
Human pal:
ublock origin is not enough i need advertisers to feel physical pain
when I was a kid one of my fantasies was that everyone had a red button. Anytime ads interupted you or pissed you off you pushed the button, and the creators would be shocked via legally mandated shock collars for everyone responsible for ads. The severity and length of the shock depended on how bad the ad was to you and how long it took out of your day. Young chlorogoth thought that would fix the advertising plague in no time
