cw: mentions of motor accidents, suggestive at end
biker!kazuha who squeezes the hands on his waist or taps your knee during stops at intersections. sometimes, he'll spell out your name when you guys have to wait more time during a traffic rush.
biker!kazuha who loves the feeling of your hands on him and your body close to his, always bringing him to a soft smile. the wind feels a little colder without you near him.
biker!kazuha who also lets you try on his helmet before you guys leave. you can see kazuha's grin as he lifts up your visor to get a glimpse into your eyes. he also lets you kiss the helmet for good measure.
biker!kazuha who doesn't mess around with your safety no matter what you say. he knows the consequences of anything happening in a flash of lightening. he's seen what happened to tomo.
but when you get on the bike with him, he will make the ride feel like a personal tour. he knows the routes to see the sunset undisturbed, knows the places that could interest you, and all in between.
and if ever you both get into an accident, it's biker!kazuha who holds onto you for dear life. you can be standing up and running over to him, and asking if he's ok, but all he can see is tomo. tomo. tomo and you. with pure adrenaline, he'll get up to make sure you're ok before passing out.
it takes a lot of reassurance to keep biker!kazuha from restricting you from rides with him afterwards. the worry will consume him that he won't be able to protect you one of these days and he will have to visit two graves of the people close to him. and although the fear never goes away, it does gradully dull with lots of kisses from you and reassurance that he already does so much to keep you safe, and that you will be there to take care of him too.
biker!kazuha whose friends know you even before introductions. when they do meet you, they smile at a blushing kazuha. they get to meet someone who had changed his life for the better.
hm: biker!kazuha can't help but tease you when you pause in the doorway. he had just gotten home and taken off his helmet. his hair was messy, and he was sweating. but to his surprise, it was enough for you to get flustered at the sight of him. he kisses you fervently, enough to take your breath away. he feels your arms snake around him like how you would on the bike, and he locks the door behind him. kazuha was wanting to take you out for a ride tonight... but there are other ways he can get the same thrill.

I was really tempted to put childe here too but then it’s already a squad of shorties so maybe next time childe but yeah I hope you guys enjoy my comeback piece ✌🏻
: Xiao. Kazuha. Wanderer. Venti. Albedo. Lohen.
❥ Xiao
“Do not jest about such things.”
Well, there goes your joke. Xiao immediately understands that it’s a joke — or does he? His face immediately turns away from you to hide how flushed his cheeks are now. How could you say such a thing so easily? He doesn’t know what to think as his mind spirals to "what ifs”.
If you continue to push the joke, he’ll disappear ーleaving you confused. He’s not angry, he’s just overwhelmed and embarrassed. The Yaksha will return to your side again once he’s calmed down. Though now, he’ll have trouble looking at you without the thought of you round from carrying his child flashing in his mind. He doesn’t actually hate the thought, though he'd rather die than to admit that.
“C-Children? I have no interest in that.”
❥ Kazuha
“I feel the same way, my love.”
Oh, it seems like Kazuha doesn’t realize it’s just a joke. Now, the guilt immediately hits you for making it a joke when he looks at you like you’ve just given him the whole world. His eyes fill with adoration for you as he takes your hands within his.
He tells you he’ll have to find a place to settle down. A home where you, him, and your children could grow up. As much as it kills you to to put an end to his daydreaming, you tell him it was a joke. You’ve never seen him deflate so fast. You better make it up to him somehow for temporarily breaking his heart.
“A joke…? I see. Though, I believe you could make a wonderful parent.”
❥ Wanderer
“Y-You want what?”
You’ve basically short-circuited the poor man. Wanderer’s eyes widen as he stares bewildered at you for a good second before his usual scowl returns to his face. He clicks his tongue in annoyance at your supposed joke, having to explain something you should already be aware of.
He can’t have children.
Still, the thought does invoke those fluttery feelings he hates but secretly likes. Children with you, huh? Afterward, he finds himself wondering about it more than he wants to. He can’t have biological children with you, but adopting doesn’t seem like a bad alternative. He covers his face with his hand in embarrassment at such a thought.
He’ll consider it.
“Is that really a joke, or are you trying to hint at something?”
❥ Venti
“Children, you say? Why, we already have children!”
Venti chuckles at your confusion at his words. With a bright smile and a wide spread of his arms, he tells you that all of Mondstadt are his children. Making you as his lover, their automatic parent. All of Mondstadt ーeven if they’re way older than you as your children.
Despite sounding like a joke, it’s a technically true statement in spite of the absurdity of it. With a wiggle of his eyebrows, he approaches you with a grin. He asks you if you’re not satisfied with this many children. Then, he’d be happy to provide you with more! He knows what you actually mean, but it’s just fun to tease you.
“You want more? I suppose I can help you with that~!”
❥ Albedo
“Then I suppose we should get to planning.”
You knew Albedo was a serious person and expected him to brush off your joke, but you certainly did not expect this outcome. Albedo slightly tilts his head to the side in confusion as you don’t immediately respond to his words. He’s basically already agreed — isn’t that what you wanted?
Though, he’s not really sure if he can have biological children with you. He’s never wondered about such a thing before.
Oh, this is a conundrum.
He supposes an experiment wouldn’t hurt.
“I will let you know of the results once I’ve finished. Until then, please think of potential names for our future children.”
❥ Lohen
“Oh? Is that a joke or a promise?”
Lohen could not hold back the shit-eating grin on his face as he leans in closer to tease you. His grin grows wider when you splutter in response to his words. He takes it a step further by asking you when you’d like to start.
Why not tonight?
He’s free.
He’ll keep teasing you until he manages to pull the reaction he wants out of you. He’s laughing now but afterward when he’s alone, he’ll find his mind drifting to your supposed joke. Would your children look more like him or you? Him, since he obviously has the superior genes without a doubt. Guess having a runt or two might not be such a bad idea. Actually, make that three.
“Do you actually want children, or are you more interested in the baby-making process, hmm~?”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ summary: After months of quiet yearning in the Alcor, a stormy night in the woods finally pushes you and Kazuha to confess the feelings you had both been carrying in silence.
Also this was a request from @yunziuu, so thank you!
The first time you met Beidou, you were half-conscious and bleeding into the dirt. You barely remembered the fight itself anymore. Only flashes remained in your memory steel, shouting, pain burning through your ribs as strangers searched through your belongings. You had wandered through Teyvat alone for so long that danger had simply become another traveling companion.
But that day, luck had finally found you or perhaps fate had? You remembered hearing loud laughter before anything else, then came the crack of lightning and suddenly the attackers were gone.
When you opened your eyes again, a tall woman crouched beside you with her arms crossed, looking almost amused despite the situation.
“Well,” she said, “Don’t you look terrible?”
You coughed weakly.
She laughed loudly at that. “Still breathing though. Good sign.”
That was how you met Beidou.
And after helping you recover aboard the Alcor, after feeding you and giving you a place to sleep without asking for anything in return, she eventually leaned against the ship railing beside you one evening and said casually,
“If you wanna join us, you can.”
You stared at her. “You barely know me ma’am.”
Beidou shrugged. “Don’t need to know everything about someone to know they deserve a place to stay.”
You never forgot those words, as it was your first time seeing such kindness.
So, you stayed as she said. At first, you kept mostly to yourself. You helped where you could, cleaned the deck, carried supplies, repaired ropes, and silently tried to repay the kindness Beidou had shown you.
Then months later, he also joined the crew. Kazuha.
At first, the two of you barely spoke. You know, just small greetings here and there.
“Good morning.”
“Morning.”
“Need help with that?”
“Yea…Thank you.”
Kazuha was quiet, but approachable in a way that made people naturally drift toward him. Whenever someone needed help, he simply appeared beside them without complaint. Sometimes he helped carry heavy crates. Sometimes he fixed broken parts of the ship with calm patience. And somehow… whenever you struggled with something, he always noticed first.
One day while you were trying to drag a box twice your size across the deck, he silently lifted the other side without a word. Another time he found you frustrated over damaged ropes and calmly sat beside you fixing them while explaining knots in that soft rhythmic voice of his.
On top of his kindness, the more time you spent together, the more you realized how emotionally intelligent he was. One quiet night beneath the stars, you ended up telling him your story. About your wandering. Your loneliness. The exhaustion that came from surviving alone for so long. Kazuha never interrupted you and the way he listened you with his soft eyes, you could feel that he never judged you.
And afterward, he spoke about himself too, about Inazuma, about why he left, or about grief and freedom and learning to continue walking even after losing pieces of yourself. You didn’t judge him either. Maybe that was where everything truly began. Because after that, speaking to him became easier. So naturally, the more comfortable you became around someone, the more your real personality appeared.
Which apparently meant becoming the crew’s circus freak.
“You know,” Beidou laughed one afternoon while drinking, “when you first joined, I thought you were incapable of speaking.”
The crew burst into laughter. You groaned dramatically. “Captain, please defend my dignity.”
“You lost that dignity three jokes ago.”
Even Kazuha smiled quietly beside you.
At first, that was all it was. Small smiles from afar whenever you said something stupid and somehow even those tiny reactions made your heart warm embarrassingly fast.
Then eventually he started laughing more openly. You remember the first time you heard it properly, soft, breathy, genuine, you nearly forgot what you were saying entirely.
Your face burned so badly Beidou noticed immediately. “Oh?” she teased loudly. “Interesting.”
You almost threw a spoon at her. But the truth was… you weren’t blind to your feelings.
You had liked Kazuha from the moment he joined the crew.
Over time that crush became something far worse. You missed him whenever he spent time elsewhere. You found yourself watching for him without meaning to. Sometimes, embarrassingly enough, you got jealous over absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile Kazuha genuinely had no idea what was happening. He only noticed strange patterns. Like, why did you suddenly become shy around him sometimes? Why did you occasionally ignore him entirely afterward? Or why did you seem annoyed whenever he spoke too long with someone else?
Eventually Beidou became so tired of watching both of you suffer that she decided to interfere. One evening while drinking together, Kazuha quietly admitted, “She did not speak to me at all today. I fear I may have upset her somehow.”
Beidou stared at him. Then stared harder. Then groaned loudly.
“Oh for fucks sake, seriously? You still don’t get it?”
Kazuha blinked. “Get what?”
“She was jealous, you oblivious samurai.”
“…Jealous?”
“Yes, jealous,” Beidou repeated dramatically. “You were over there smiling all pretty at that poor girl helping with supplies while this one looked ready to jump into the ocean.”
Kazuha froze. And slowly, very slowly, realization hit. His eyes drifted toward you automatically. You were currently sitting nearby with another crew member, laughing softly at something they said. Warm lantern light illuminated your face. And suddenly Kazuha’s chest tightened painfully. The feeling rose so suddenly it startled him. Because now that he understood it…He realized he had been watching you too, listening for your laugh too, searching for you in crowds too.
And afterward, everything between you became strange.
You stopped staying near him as often, exhausted from your own feelings and Kazuha, now painfully aware of his own heart, no longer knew how to act naturally around you either. So, the comfortable closeness you once shared became replaced with awkward distance.
Which led directly to tonight.
Dark storm clouds covered the sky as Beidou announced they would pull the Alcor ashore until the weather calmed.
“Everyone split into groups!” she called. “Set camp before the rain starts.”
Then, with absolutely zero mercy, she pointed directly at you and Kazuha.
“You two. Gather wood.”
And when you both heard your names from her lips, for a moment you looked into each other's eyes, the eyes both of you hadn't looked at in a long time. Of course, you immediately turned your heads away.
The walk into the jungle was painfully silent. The only sounds were insects chirping and distant thunder rolling through the night sky.
It felt wrong though. After months of easy conversations, this silence almost physically hurt.
Kazuha carried the small gas lamp between you while both of you carefully avoided eye contact. While trying very hard not to look at him, you accidentally tripped over a hidden bush.
A startled yelp escaped your mouth as you nearly fell but before you could hit the ground, Kazuha caught your arm firmly.
Your breath caught.
He steadied you instantly, his hand warm around your sleeve.
“T-thank you,” you stammered.
Kazuha blinked softly before realizing he was still holding you.
Slowly, he let go. “You are welcome,” he murmured. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” you said quickly. “Don’t worry. Let’s just collect these and head back soon.”
He hummed softly in agreement. You bent down to grab some brushwood, but Kazuha stopped you again.
“You hold the lamp,” he said quietly. “I can collect these. No need to hurt your hands over them.”
You smiled faintly. “You’ve seen worse things I’ve done on the ship. It’s okay.”
Still, he gently placed the lamp into your hands anyway.
And for just a brief second, your fingers intertwined. The contact made both of you go still.
You looked away immediately, and Kazuha swallowed quietly.
Then suddenly Kazuha spoke. “…I bought something in Liyue some time ago.”
You looked up in surprise. He reached into his sleeve carefully before pulling out a delicate hair stick.
Your eyes widened.
“When I saw it,” he said softly, “I thought of you.” Your heart nearly stopped. “You… thought of me?”
Kazuha’s expression gentled immediately. “More often than I should have.” You stared at the hairpin in complete shock as he carefully placed it into your hands. “I wanted to give it to you earlier,” he admitted quietly. “But I wasn’t certain how.”
“I love it,” you whispered honestly. “It’s beautiful.” Hearing that made him smile. Then after a small pause, he asked, “Would you like me to put it in your hair?”
Your face immediately grew hot. “…Yeah. Sure.” You turned around slowly so your back faced him. Behind you, Kazuha carefully gathered part of your hair into his hands. His touch was unbelievably gentle. You could feel every movement of his fingers as he twisted your hair softly into a small bun before sliding the hair stick into place.
“There,” he murmured softly.
You were just about to turn around and thank him but suddenly his arms wrapped around you from behind.
Kazuha held you carefully against him, resting his forehead lightly near your shoulder.
“I like you, a lot.” he confessed quietly, directly.
Your eyes immediately burned.
“I like your laugh. I like the way you try to make everyone around you smile even when you are struggling yourself.” His arms tightened slightly. “I like how warm the ship feels when you are there.”
You couldn’t speak.
“You listened to me without judgment,” he whispered. “Then you did everything you could to make me feel like I’m at home again. You brew me tea, you cooked me food from my hometown and left it in my room without saying anything.”
Your head lowered instinctively, trying to hide the tears gathering in your eyes, as you thought he wouldn’t care much about those.
But Kazuha noticed and cared. Softly, he turned your face toward him. His expression looked unbearably tender.
“Can I…?” he asked quietly.
You nodded slowly.
And then he kissed you, he was so careful, as if you were a porcelain doll..
The first drops of rain finally began falling around you as he held your face gently between his hands. When the kiss ended, both of you stayed close for a moment, breathing softly in the darkness.
Then eventually, after remembering why you even came there in the first place, you gathered the remaining wood together and this time, as you walked back toward the camp through the rain and lantern light, your hands remained intertwined the entire time.
you expected another dottore, I gave you Kazuha, zort. (I really need to learn write shortly lmao.)
°❀.ೃ࿔* take me on a date, i deserve it, babe! ˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡
❝ Meet me on the harbor at dawn, I'd like to profess to you the depths of my heart at a place worthy of you, my dearest.❞
that was all there was on the letter; vague, yet reminiscently straightforward, written in that gentle cursive that made your heart beat just a little bit faster whenever you saw the way "my dearest" was penned in his handwriting; his version of love forged from ink and quill.
so naturally, you made sure to show up on time. dressed in your best—just not to the nines. something simple, comfortable, and made for an overseas trip on the Alcor. a cute piece you were certain he'd like.
when you arrived at the dock, you found kazuha already there, helping carry some crates and cargo to the ship while another ship member was handling the process of listing and rechecking.
it wasn't an uncommon sight; your boyfriend simply couldn't help but to lend a helping hand at times. it was one of the reasons the captain continued to allow him a temporary crew member position anyway, aside from generally liking him.
"your beauty is one of which precedes me, my dear."
the abrupt presence of a voice startles you—likely not having realized you were essentially admiring him from a distance—but your recovery was quick once you recognized the soft lilt you only ever associated with kazuha.
"you needn't admire from afar. i'm all yours."
his bandaged hand came to gently take yours while his head lowered, placing a tender kiss on the tips of your knuckles—a cheeky habit of his. you felt your ears burn slightly at the lovingly familiar gesture, urging a sheepish laugh from your throat.
"hey lovebirds! we're setting sail!"
speak of the devil.
from the dock, you can see beidou kneeling against the ship railing, almost bellowing with laughter upon noticing the intimate positioning between you two. at her contagious laughter, kazuha couldn't help but laugh the same, cheeks tinted of a soft pink hue.
despite the abashment, not once did he let go. instead, his clutch on your hand tightened, graciously leading you to board the ship alongside him, which you enthusiastically accepted.
the place was in full swing as soon as the sails were lowered and the ropes were untied; crux members bustling about and hard at work, expertly arranging the goods on board which were for assumedly yet another cargo deal.
as the ship slowly maneuvered further onto the water, the floorboards creaked under the weight of consistent efficiency, rocking slightly with the transition. but as the wind pushed against the sails with a remarkable persistence, the dock slowly began to disappear into the distance behind you, replaced by the vast open sea with the sunrise reflecting on the crashing waves.
the waters rippled against the boat's acceleration, occasionally crashing against the railing you leaned on while you watched the sun rise from the distance, painting the sky in various hues of warm and cool tones.
"truly a mesmerizing sight, isn't it?"
kazuha joined your side, leaned similarly against the boat railing. yet instead of the sea, his eyes were trained on you with a fond smile.
you both stayed there for a while, basking in the simple sounds of the ocean—with the occasional addition of a dolphin jumping between waves once or twice, a prolonged yet comfortable silence enveloping you.
but once it was mainly the sea and sky surrounding you both, the presence of the crew had dissipated to mere background noise, replaced by crashing waves and soaring birds in the chilly morning breeze.
his idle hand reached over, slowly, tenderly, intertwining his fingers with yours.
"akin to birds, your mere presence uncovers a means to make my heart soar like no other, my dear."
there's something tender in the way his gaze strays from the open water.. to you, eyes fixated on you like nothing else even existed in the current moment. but then he moved, turning to face you before both his hands came to hold yours.
"dearest.. you're aware i sought for your appearance here, to truly pronounce my devotion; so i believe this is the ideal moment for me to.."
the commotion had died down, and the ship seemed to hold its breath. if for even a singular moment, the whole world seemed to shrink and move in slow motion. kazuha had let go, getting down on one knee before he moved your hand to cup his cheek, thumb slowly caressing your inner wrist.
"..ask for your hand in marriage?"
he pulled a ring out of seemingly nowhere, presenting it to you with a jittery hand. even his hand that was caressing yours began to shake, clutching your wrist just a tad bit tighter.
your breath had caught in your throat, running your head foggy and making you feel lightheaded as a result. even your own hands and legs trembled, far more than kazuha's nervous quivers. your eyes practically bulged out of their sockets as you stared down at the ring.
the ring itself was simple in design, molded to your ring size, and made with your preferred ring metal. but not even the thoughtful details could water down the sheer weight the single piece of jewelry held as it was slipped on your finger upon your agreement.
"a leaf disturbed by the exhale of the earth you are, dearest.. but I'm brought to ease at your acceptance."
you didn't even notice when kazuha had stood up, but now, he held you close, his other hand moving in a comforting motion against the small of your back. the hand that held yours tightened just a margin, thumb brushing against the band on your ring finger, a physical representation of his devotion positioned right on your finger like it belonged there.
before you could realize it, the ship erupted with a congratulatory round of applause, albeit quieter than what you anticipated—which thankfully wasn't enough to be overwhelming. once the commotion died down a little, beidou had come down from her station as well.
"well well, congratulations, you both. glad to see the proposal went smoothly. we have some booze onboard if ya feel like celebrating, or if you just want some couple time. join us if you're feeling up for it—but I'll leave you both alone for now."
she laughed, patting a firm, approving hand against kazuha's back before heading up to the quarterdeck, leaving you both to your own devices.
"well, what say you, my dearest? we shall join them if you'd like. I will all but stand beside you, no matter what you decide."
ending up posting this far later than the softlaunch, it was hard to conceptualize a date idea for kazuha.. (dont get me started on his dialogue.) and also cause i recently got off bedrest—went on a day trip and got my leg scarred? skinned? on the same day—now dealing with a bruised scar so i do apologize lol
now thinking about it this is likely to be a longer running series beyond just this yumay huh

quiet the rain.
۶۟ৎ you help kazuha fall asleep during a storm.

You can barely make out Kazuha’s features in the low light of the cave you’ve had to seek refuge in for the night, not with how clouds continue to blot out the moon and rain streaks down and patters against the pathway mere meters away. It’s comforting to you, the scent of the rain and the steady rhythm to the droplets landing, and the way the tiny bit of light that slips through the cloud cover makes everything glow a faint silver where the water catches the light.
Unfortunately, your companion doesn’t find it to be as serene as you do. He’s tense where he lays on top of his haori, and he keeps turning in a way uncharacteristic of him in sleep.
“Are you alright? Cold?”
Kazuha sighs heavily. So, you wait, listen to the rustling of fabric that breaks up the steady rainfall as he sits up. When he’s done shifting, settling in a more upright posture that leans against his worn leather pouch, the faint indigo light from the cave’s entrance and the low glow of his vision catch his features.
You can see the tension he carries in everything the light hits — lips pressed thin, brows slightly furrowed, and what must be an uncomfortable tightness to his neck and shoulders, if the way he absently massages the area means anything.
“Just… can’t sleep,” he admits slowly. “Not too cold. I’ve been caught in worse.”
You hum. “Is it the storm?” You pull out a linen blanket anyways, and drape it over his legs, giving him a soft smile as you look up through your lashes before you pull back, turning your focus outside. “It should end soon.”
Kazuha shifts, and you see him move closer to you in your periphery, tugging your blanket close over his thin white shirt and resting his chin on his knees where they’re drawn close to his chest. He’s quiet for a bit, just watching the rain drip and slide down sakura boughs and dot the rocks just outside. Then, when you think he has decided to just sit quietly with your presence as a shield until it ends — “it’s loud.”
“Is it?”
“Yeah,” he watches the rain fall off the leaves with you. “When you can hear the wind how I do. I can’t block it out.”
It must be overwhelming, you think to yourself. Kazuha is a patient and gentle man, but everyone has their limits. As beautiful as it was to you, the wind must sound more like overlapping yells rather than whispers of branches and leaves rustling, and it must drown out what he wants to hear — the way it does in the fiercest of storms on the Alcor, when the wind whips away Captain Beidou’s barked orders and the urgent voices of the crew. “Does anything help it feel less?”
“Not really,” Kazuha shrugs. “But it will end soon enough, you’re right. I don’t mind the rain normally, it just makes sleeping difficult.”
“I can only imagine.” And it’s true. You do not share the favor of Barbatos, nor do you have finely tuned senses like Kazuha does. But you do share this space with him, so you offer him a slightly squished package of dango you’d bought when the two of you were in Inazuma City earlier that day. “We can talk until it quiets. Or just sit here.”
He smiles softly, taking the offered dango gently. “I’m not exactly hungry but… thank you.”
You know it is gratitude for more than just the dango. You do not comment on it. But you do turn to him, look at the tiredness in his eyes and the slump of his shoulders. Eventually, you have an idea and gently tell him “you should lay back down.”
“Hm?”
“I know you said it’s loud,” you smooth his haori back from its crumpled state so he can curl back up on it. “But I think I could help. Just trust me.”
Kazuha studies you but eventually obeys, and you know it is because he loves you that he does not question you. Gently, you pull out a maple comb and begin to card through his hair and massage his scalp.
“When I was little,” you tell him softly, a gentle whisper where you can hear the smile in your own voice, “I used to think that storms meant the sky was mad at me.” You let the comb press over his temples gently, massaging a tiny bit to get rid of tension before dipping back towards the nape of my neck. “I would feel so guilty for upsetting the sky that I would sneak out into the rain and apologize. I even offered it gifts, placing tiny bouquets of flowers I made using the wildflowers from our yard and around the village on this old petrified stump.
“And I’d stay out there — so it knew my apology was genuine, but also because I liked the rain. I thought it was so beautiful, and would get captivated by how the droplets made everything look like it was gilded in silver. I’d only go inside when my mom dragged me in and scolded me. And she had every right to, I’d be shivering under a tree, ignoring how cold I was because I was busy talking to the sky about my day, with just the smallest of leaves as my cover,” you put the comb down and slowly trace over the contours of his face with the lightest pressure, watching his features relax and slacken as your thumbs gently smooth over his brows, and you’re pleased as his breathing slows and steadies more. “I remember her forcing me into a warm bath — and I was young enough she still helped with that, so she’d scrub my skin clean and pluck leaves from my hair, nagging me for what felt like hours for getting mud all over my new clothes.
“It was nice… and stupid, maybe, to think it was the sky’s anger and not just weather, but I was a kid. And I still think rain is beautiful. Though I at least keep some actual cover over my head now.”
Kazuha doesn’t respond. You smile, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead.
“I’ll apologize to the sky for you, for the first time in over a decade,” you laugh softly. “And I’ll ask it to be nicer to you. In exchange, I’ll keep it company again.”
You very carefully move from next to his peacefully sleeping frame to sit at the cave entrance once more, dangling your legs over the side as you look up at the sky. “I’m sorry I don’t have any flowers for you today,” you say towards the moon. “But I’ll tell you stories for as long as you let him sleep peacefully.”

I saw that you asked for head cannon requests so here you go! Do you think you could do Kazuha (romantic) when you get injured kinda badly? Not like absolutely horrible and gore-y but more than a small cut! And of course if you don’t feel up to it or have to many requests feel free to ignore this one! Take care!!😊
Anon left me this ask a while ago! I've been working on it, but tumblr threw OUT the ask unfortunately! But I'm still posting!
CW: mentions of blood, typical shounen-level violence
Yet, there was no way he could leave you behind, in Inazuma, all alone. Yes, you were resourceful, and yes, you were capable. But it didn’t make sense for him to flee and you to stay.
There was no clan, no estate, nothing to care for while awaiting his return.
Why would you stay?
The Kaedehara Clan was essentially no more. It would be most logical to keep you close.
So even though you weren’t a wanted criminal, even though the Tenryou commission had no business with you, even though they did distinguish between husband and wife…that distinction meant nothing when you willingly associated yourself with a fugitive.
Which meant now you were on the run from them. Together. From government officials and bounty hunting rogues alike.
Because again, that distinction meant nothing-especially with regards to the aforementioned rogues-when you had no problem throwing yourself in front of an electro-infused arrow meant for him. It was enough to render you basically immobile as the electro energy coursed through your body. The arrow cleanly lodged itself in your side, inciting a cry of pain from you as you collapsed to the ground, convulsing, a small ways away from your beloved.
Kazuha wasn’t prone to anger. In fact, it could be said that the ronin’s anger was more of a carefully honed and tempered blade that seldom left its sheath. However there was no denying that the image of you falling to the ground convulsing was more than enough to have him drawing it.
However he knew better than to keep such a sword drawn while his sensibilities were dulled. His objective was currently to get you to safety, then to a medic. His rage would not be useful in this situation. He sheathed his rage.
So he took in a deep breath to quell the tempest within, enabling him to block the different projectiles and strikes coming at him. In an instant he whisked up the adversaries surrounding him, before using his anemo to slam them back into the hard ground, wasting no time in sprinting in your direction. Your shooter could barely come to hold his sword before Kazuha had struck him down, sheathed his sword and began sprinting back towards you.
He swept you up into his arms and made a beeline for the thick trees nearby. Observing you, with your scrunched up features and shallow breathing revived the hurricane that had clouded his thoughts earlier. The sounds that rang through his ears were the violent thunderings of his heart, the crunching of both leaves and twigs underfoot, and the shouting of the rogues who were regaining their bearings: further augmenting his stormy mind.
No good.
Your beloved worked to take another calming breath while continuing to move. A bit of a feat given he was running - he managed something though.
The wind.
Finally he could hear the wind again. The whispers of the wind sounded familiar here.
There was a little known cave not too far away. He remembered it from his escapades with his old friend…his dear old friend…
Holding you more closely, he was quick to apologize at the unintentional pain he’d caused, and make his way towards the little known opening. “I’m sorry,” your voice was broken between a whisper and a gasp.
The world seemed to still when you spoke. The wanted ronin paused for a moment, looking down upon you, lips softly curving as he took you in. His beloved wife.
Who had been injured due to your association with him.
A twig snapped and that was the end of that. He swiftly carried you into the dark hole in the cliffside, hidden behind a running stream. Setting you down was a challenge: he didn’t want to remove the arrow, as he didn’t have the means of healing you; however he couldn’t lay you on your back, with how the arrow was protruding from both your front and back. So he settled you on your side.
His best course of action would be to emerge before the rogues arrived, but with the sounds he was hearing it seemed he would instead reveal your location. A loud crack of thunder from overhead startled you and you bit back a yelp. Kazuha was by your side immediately, eyes searching you through the limited light coming in.
You grabbed his hand, folding four of his fingers into a fist and moving his thumb upwards. Whether or not you could see his appreciative smile, he wasn’t sure, so he made sure to gently press his lips to your forehead before taking his drawing stance. Hand on the hilt of his blade ready to attack any who came for you.
However no one did. Rain poured down furiously from the sky. The rogues cursed and shouted and you could hear them splash away. While grateful for their departure, Kazuha found this situation less than ideal.
Especially as he tentatively poked his head out of the cave, making sure your pursuers had fled. From what he could see, they had. The only issue was the temperature was dropping and you were losing blood. He would need to move you, in this downpour.
“Kazu…” the man in question turned to you as soon as your weak voice reached him, bearing witness to your pained seizing as you coughed.
“My love,” he rushed to you, tucking you gently into his side and grabbing your hand-which was much too cold for his liking-in his, “unless this is urgent, please try to save your strength.”
“I love you,” you gasped quickly between coughs.
“And I you,” he squeezed your hand in his, pressing a firm kiss to your forehead.
“I’m going to move you closer to the light my love,” his bandaged hand cupped your cheek, “let me see how I can help you.”
“I’m sorry,” you were crying, his brow furrowed.
He pressed his forehead to yours, and the hand that he held to his heart, “you have nothing to apologize for, thank you for protecting me.”
“Kazuha,” his name was followed by a thick, guttural sob.
He supposed you needed to cry, after all that you’d been through within the last hour or two alone. The words flowed freely from his lips:
My love for you is
Persistent forevermore
As great rivers flow
“My brave samurai,” he wished you wouldn’t force yourself - yet understood your desire to speak, “my ardor yours forever,” he smiled as you squeezed his hand weakly, “as waves to the shore.”
I wish to heal you
Though it may pain me to wait
This storm will abate
He wouldn’t wait for the rain to end completely, just enough so that he won’t drench either of you - he couldn’t risk you falling ill on top of an injury. Though as another burst of light flashed through the cave and another crack of thunder was heard, he found himself looking for alternatives.
Gingerly letting go of you, he moved to search the cave for anything he could use to start a fire. To his greatest fortune there were some leaves and pieces of wood that had found their way into the cave, if the crunching he was hearing was any indication. In fact the crunch revealed they were dry too. Perfect.
The bigger issue would be finding a way to start the fire- but he wasn’t too worried. He’d figure it out. And figure it out he did, he could now inspect you with more clarity.
He stilled at the sight. He knew it would be bad, however there was more blood than expected. He rushed to the mouth of the cave, the rain wasn’t much lighter. What choice did he have though?
His options were limited. He could leave you in the cave and check for a nearby physician - however he couldn’t be sure there was someone capable of handling your situation nearby. He could also scour the area for supplies and tend to you himself; however that seemed time consuming and loathe as he was to admit it: first aid wasn’t his strong suit. The last option was to again to gamble on the idea of a local physician in the village twenty minutes away from your location…however-
“Hey! I see a fire over there!” A woman’s voice cut through the storm. Strong, certain, authoritative. “Head for shelter in that direction!”
The ronin’s hand was once again on his blade as he heard thundering footsteps approach you two. A party of five, no six. He’d have to be careful not to get you caught in the fray. Though as the figures came closer, it became clear they hailed from beyond Inazuma.
“Hey!” He now had a face for the voice he heard earlier: the lady had an eyepatch on her left eye, “mind if we share that fire with you?”
She glanced behind him, and he moved to hide you too late, with how her singular eye widened, and how she turned quickly to one of her companions, “we’ve got one injured, help her out,” she didn’t seem hostile.
The physician seemed to hesitate, eyeing Kazuha’s stance wearily, meanwhile your beloved turned to lock eyes with the leader of this troupe, “how can I trust you?”
“Smart kid,” the woman shot him a bright, thoroughly entertained, grin as she puffed out her chest and placed her hands on her hips, “the name’s Beidou, I’m the captain of the Crux from Liyue,” she introduced herself, “and your friend over there has a puncture wound that’s going to be a really big problem if you wait too long,” she tilted her head to the side, “and I’d wager this rain isn’t about to let up any time soon.”
Beidou. The cautious fugitive hadn’t heard anything malicious in her tone as she’d spoken. “Very well,” he removed his hand from the hilt of his sword, “however I will be watching your every move.”
“Deal,” she nodded before turning to the rest of her troupe and ushering them in with a jerk of her head.
Once inside and once the medic was beside you, the captain began giving out orders to help keep the fire going, to collect rainwater, to prevent getting sick, and the like. While listening to all the commotion, Kazuha kept his eyes on you and the medic. The medic in question began preparing bandages, herbs, ointments, among other things, explaining all that she was doing. As she finished their initial preparations she explained the procedure she’d be taking. She’d need Kazuha’s help.
Your husband held you, and your hand, as the medic proceeded to prepare to remove the arrow from your body. He was the one to remove any clothing that would get in the way. He appreciated Captain Beidou’s courtesy in that she forced all her companions to look away - save for the medic.
He held you firmly as they pulled the arrow through the wound (after removing the head). He soothed you as your tears spilled over fighting back your body’s instincts as they cleaned the wound and it burned. He rubbed soothing circles into your hands as the medic managed to apply something to numb the pain before sewing you up. He sat there with you through the whole process until your wound and you were properly dressed.
Of all the trials he’d been subjected to as of late, this perhaps was the most difficult. His only consolation being that you did not perish, unlike the conclusion of a different trial…
He wouldn’t say you fell asleep as much as your body simply demanded rest and forced it upon you. As you lay on your back, barely wrapped in a blanket that the medic had on hand, Kazuha could not help the frown that set itself upon his face. He was responsible for your current state-perhaps not fully, but he held a great deal of responsibility without a doubt.
He had almost risked losing you, if not for the fateful appearance of the foreign captain and her crew. A single knuckle came to trace the features upon your face, he could feel the sticky trails the salt from your tears had left on your cheeks.
His hand was uncharacteristically unsteady as he moved to cup your cheek. Your brow pinched slightly at the contact however you relaxed into his palm soon enough.
Now, with the immediate crisis averted, he found a grimace taking over his features. As though taking strike after strike from one of those practice bamboo swords, you lay beside him on the cold ground of the cave, unconscious after the pain you endured and yet he could not hold you, could not share his warmth with you. His nails dug into his palms.
Oh how he wished you’d never experience pain like that ever again. Oh how he wished you’d never experienced pain like that. He’d do all in his power to make sure you never did, so long as he was alive.
“Yinxing said that she’s going to need to monitor that wound of her’s,” at the appearance of the foreign captain behind him, the ronin’s body recognized that it needed to breathe, “it likely won’t be infected if you change her bandages when you’re supposed to.”
“Thank you Captain Beidou,” he smiled gently, “I’ll be sure to do so.”
The captain in question huffed a little laugh before plopping herself down by the samurai. She took a swig from her water jug, gulping loudly before wiping her mouth with her gloved forearm.
“You running from something?” She asked casually.
Kazuha hummed in amusement, “you could say that.”
“So you probably won’t be able to get her proper medical care if anything happens,” again her tone was casual, light.
“How have you managed to enter Inazuma?” He returned tone equally as light.
“Let’s just say we have our ways,” mischief twinkled about her.
“You don’t intend to stay long,” amusement danced about in his tone despite everything, “do you?”
“Of course not,” her smirk only grew, “wanna come along when we leave?”
So much for subtlety then.
The two exchanged a look, and Beidou leaned against the wall further. “Well, we set sail in three days,” she shrugged, “actually two days now,” she raised a brow at him, “you have until sunset day after tomorrow to make a decision.”
What a strange woman.
Foreigners ought to know better than to trust Inazumans. One too many have been bamboozled by the locals for petty sums. He’d never specified what exactly he’d been running from after all, for all this Captain Beidou knew, he could be conspiring to hand her over to the local authorities.
Though he supposed she’d taken your current state into consideration prior to making her offer.
-_-
When you came to, you were greeted to a dull throb in your side and the distant howling of a pack of wolves.
Your husband seemed to have been waiting for that moment, as you were immediately with a:
Awake is the moon
Illuminating the sky
Is my love my light
You found your lips pulling up. Seems like he’d been keeping busy while waiting for you too. You winced, as a sharp jab tore through your side the moment you attempted to shift even slightly.
“Don’t move, you might reopen your wound,” you once again heard your husband speak from where he sat above you.
“We can’t stay in this cave forever Kazu,” you barely mumbled out, complying with his command, “I’m going to,” you huffed, “need to move eventually.”
“Eventually,” he reiterated a gentle smile upon his features as he trailed a knuckle down your cheek, “for now give the wound a moment to heal.”
He then brushed away any strands of your hair from your forehead leaning in to gently press a kiss on it.
“How are you?” You asked.
When he turned to look at you, the smile upon his face contrasting with his downcast gaze, “I am grateful,” he reached for your hand on your uninjured side.
Placing a kiss on it, he lifted it to his forehead, “and remorseful.”
“You understand that it isn’t your fault, right?”
“Even so.”
“Even so,” you repeated back, “sorry.”
Kazuha simply shook his head, hands squeezing your hand in his.
“I’m apologizing,” you winced, “for dismissing your feelings my love.”
That made him turn to look at you, gaze gentle, almost pained, “you have nothing to apologize for.”
“What a wonderful husband,” your breathing was too strained for his liking, “I’ve been blessed with.”
He chuckled at you one of his hands relinquishing yours to cup your face, “I too,” his thumb gently wiped about your cheek, “have been gifted a wife beyond compare.”
“Who am I to compete with my poetic husband?” Your chuckles turned into a grimace he mirrored.
“The captain we met earlier offered to take us off of Inazuma with her,” he said, gently playing with your hair, “we have until sunset the day after tomorrow to make a decision.”
You simply studied him in silence. He couldn’t help but think that despite the clear signs of exhaustion on your face, you were undoubtedly ethereal: crowned by the moonlight and gentle illumination of the fire that had since died down. How fortunate was he to call you his beloved. How fortunate was he, that you were still with him on this plane.
“Kazuha?”
“Yes love?” He ought to be more vigilant.
You weakly tried reaching out to him on your uninsured side, and he was quick to take your hand in his pressing a kiss on it before cradling it between both of his. “You need to rest, love,” your gentle scolding barely rose above a whisper, “you’re exhausted.”
Kazuha couldn’t help the huff of amusement pushing past him. He pressed yet another kiss to your hand, making sure to meet your gaze as he did so, and enjoying the way you flustered. “You’re the one who is injured and yet you worry about me,” he smiled.
“Of course,” your eyes narrowed and your grin grew as you weakly huffed out, “how are you to protect us both when you’re tired?”
He chuckled. His thumb began to absent-mindedly draw circles along your hand, “I am grateful.”
“As am I,” you agreed. You were silent long enough for him to hear the cicadas chirping, “I think we ought to take the captain’s offer.”
“Very well.”
“You were thinking so too huh?”
He pressed a kiss to your forehead again, “I’d rather you stop exerting yourself to speak.”
“What an interesting,” you inhaled, “way of silencing me,” another inhale, “and avoiding my questions.”
Warmth wrapped around him for the first time since you’d been pierced by that accursed arrow. With how you seemed to struggle to meet his gaze, he was sure his expression was telling.
“I love you.”
“I love you,” you paused for a moment, “too.”
“I was considering accepting her offer,” he continued to rub loving circles into your hand, “there is nothing left for us here.”
You nodded at him, smile small, almost grievous.
“One day we shall return,” he comforted you, “until then…”
“I think wandering would suit you,” you were breathless as you rushed that sentence out.
He simply tilted his head in silence.
“Wandering, free, like the…wind,” he likely would need to stop you from talking soon, “it suits you.”
“If I am the wandering wind,” he brought your hand up to his check to nuzzle into it, “then you are the uplifting breeze that brings hope and respite to those who experience it.”
“Kazuha,” he chuckled at your embarrassed whine.
And when you tried to speak again, no doubt to return the sentiment, he pressed a gentle finger to your lips, “for now my love, rest.”
He laid down beside you, the cave floor warm beneath him despite the relentless downpour just beyond its mouth. You followed his movements from the corner of your eye, unable to turn to face him. After more coaxing, you did relent and closed your eyes. Your consciousness departed soon after, with rest finding you…and him.
-_-
Kazuha grew concerned when you slept through the entirety of the following day. It wasn’t unheard of, given how exhausted you were. To his relief you did wake up sometime after the moon rose. There was a chance it was his fault, as he’d scoured the nearby area and found an abandoned shack to relocate the two of you to.
You weren’t awake too long, just long enough to drink some water, and relieve yourself…with his assistance. He’d chosen humor to help you through your embarrassment.
You’d fallen asleep prior to consuming anything substantial, and when you next opened your eyes…your husband was bidding farewell to his homeland.
Despite the heaviness sitting on his chest, as he gazed down to see you awake once more, hope surged in to help carry the burden. After all, he wasn’t alone.
Epilogue
Peaceful is the breeze
“I knew I’d find you up here,” Kazuha turned to see you pulling yourself up into the crow’s nest.
Returning me home with ease
“My love,” he turned to face you, “finally managed to get away?”
“Here I thought my charming samurai would sweep me away,” you huffed as you cuddled into him, “I should have known better than to expect selfishness from my virtuous husband.”
“Is that so?” He enjoyed the privilege of holding you once more, enjoyed the feeling of you nodding your head against him. “I am just patient is all.”
You chuckled, “that you are.”
“After all, wander we may,” he burrowed his face into the crook of your neck, “we still must return home to rest.”
“Indeed we must,” he felt you press a kiss to the crown on his head.
❧ Pairings: Venti, Kazuha, Tighnari x Reader (GN) [separate]
❧ Summary: A day at the beach with them ⟶ headcanons and ficlets
❧ Contents: Fluff, mentions of drinks in Venti's, pining for Kazuha and Tighnari, established relationship (also in Venti's), the Universe it’s set in is vague

He would definitely be the kind of guy to always have a drink in his hand, or at the very least, have one nearby.
He likes spending most of the time under the shade, resting in undisturbed relaxation.
Or rather, mostly undisturbed.
The scenery would end up sparking unstoppable inspiration, and who is he to say no to a burst of creativity fuel?
Since you’re there with him, Venti asks your opinion on the verses as he comes up with them.
If not that, then you two would be at the sea, swimming and playing and… having fun!
The two of you end up soaked by the end of it, but something about it makes the nap afterwards much, much better.
“The water is freezing! How can you go in so easily?” you yelled out, not moving from your spot where the receding waters had touched your toes and immediately made you jump.
“It’s not that cold, I swear! It just feels like that at first!” Venti argued from his spot, with the water already up to his knees. You knew he was right, but gods… it was hard to do more than take a single step forward.
Venti seemed to notice your dilemma and spoke again, “If you don’t come over I’ll carry you in.”
You couldn't help but chuckle at the playful threat, despite the shivers that still ran down your spine. Venti's carefree spirit was infectious, even in the face of the offending icy water. With a deep breath and newfound determination, you took your first bold step forward, wincing at the initial chill but finding solace in the sound of his laughter.
Not to mention… you wanted to make sure he regretted that threat of his.
As the water crept higher, you couldn't deny that Venti had a point; the initial shock was giving way to a strangely invigorating sensation.
Once you were close enough for a conversation, your teeth no longer chattering, Venti greeted you with an encouraging grin. "That's the spirit!"
You smiled sweetly… and immediately splashed him, causing him to splutter. You laughed at the face he made, his hair now soaked.
“Ah! How dare you!” Venti pointed his finger at you in mock offense and splashed you back. Knowing exactly what he’d do, though, you managed to avoid most of it and sent some water his way again. Got him.
“Haha! Learn how to dodge–”
Your words were promptly drowned out as a splash of water hit you square in the face. Coughing followed, as some of it even managed to sneak its way into your mouth. Salt water was… not exactly delicious.
“You were saying, sweetheart?” Venti taunted you, hands on his hips. His grin was familiar, and although you loved it and its owner, you couldn’t help but want to wipe it off his face.
You didn't give it a second thought. With a playful glint in your eye, you lunged at him, your lips meeting his in a spontaneous kiss, washing away the taste of saltwater and replacing it with lingering cider on his tongue.
As expected, Venti returned it eagerly after the shock faded. And as expected, this gave you an opening—using one of your hands, you scooped up some water and allowed it to drip down onto his still-dry back.
Venti pulled away and let out a noise of surprise, his back tensing like a cat’s. He turned to look at you with a frown while you held back a snort.
“You… You traitor!” Venti exclaimed dramatically, tone coated in playful indignation, and you were already cackling and waddling away before he could enact his revenge.
“Come back here, you–!”
“You’ll never catch me!” you called out in a fit of laughter, your voice ringing in sync with the waves.
Heat aside, Tighnari would probably enjoy the beach if he has the opportunity—and wants—to take a walk.
After all, the beach isn’t as scorchingly hot as the desert and the shore is always available to cool off.
In any case, if he’s not under the shade of an umbrella, I can imagine him gushing about the fauna. He’s definitely not afraid of being hands-on; digging in the sand to grab a handful of sand-dwellers wouldn’t be past him.
Oh, and don’t think he wouldn’t pull you along. He definitely would.
“If we’re here, we might as well make it something productive.”
As cool and entertaining as the little lesson would be though, Tighnari would lament the state of his tail afterwards.
You and Tighnari sat under your shared umbrella, with you behind him and his tail draped over your lap. He was slightly hunched over, probably writing—down to miniscule details—everything you two had seen today.
With your gaze focused on his tail as you tried to free it from as many sand particles as you could, you decided to initiate conversation.
“Is that log entry of yours done?” you asked, only peeking over his shoulder for a second before going back to your assigned task.
“It’s in progress. I’m not quite finished yet,” he replied and you sighed only to chuckle afterwards. Picking up his brush (of course he came prepared), you began untangling the fur; you used the chance to look up at him.
“I brought you here for a small vacation, you know? That was the original idea. I wanted you to take your mind off everything… academic.”
“A productive vacation is a vacation nonetheless,” he argued, and the only thing you could really do was roll your eyes. When he realized you weren’t going to say anything, he piped in.
“Besides, brushing my tail is doing wonders towards your goal of helping me relax,” he said and as if to make the point clearer, his tail twitched slightly under your hands.
“As long as you enjoyed the day, I’m happy,” you concluded. After all, that was really the simple thing you wanted more than having him wind down; his enjoyment. If observing crabs and sand-dwellers achieved that, then you were satisfied.
Tighnari had been working so hard lately, with barely any time for himself or his hobbies. Of course you offered your help, and while he said he appreciated the offer, he had declined it with the argument of needing you to focus on your own work.
By some miracle, he found a free day in his schedule, and you had immediately jumped at the chance to take him away from it all.
The day didn’t end up being anything like what you had envisioned, but if you knew Tighnari at all, then he’d had a good time, and you didn’t want more than that.
Not to mention the bonus of spending the entire day with Tighnari alone. It was rare nowadays, which made it all the more precious.
“I did… enjoy myself,” Tighnari said, breaking the silence that had settled between you two. His tone was slightly different, but you paid no mind to it.
“Especially since you came with me, so… thank you, for everything,” he added and you had to stop brushing his tail in order to process his words.
It was a shame you couldn’t see his face at the moment.
You were no stranger to the fact that Tighnari cared about you, and he had his own way of expressing it. It was the same for everyone he was close to, at least the majority. Seldom—if ever—was he so direct and sounded… shy, at the same time.
You couldn’t help but wonder what his expression was at the moment.
“Anytime, ‘Nari,” you replied softly, to which he hummed and said nothing more, but he didn’t need to. The silence that his words led to was comfortable; you wished you could stay in that moment for a little longer than one day.
Definitely the kind to take strolls, but unlike Tighnari, his objective is to simply enjoy the scenery (and his time with you, obviously)
He takes naps on the gradually cooling sand without a cover, enjoying the sun as it falls beneath the horizon so it’s not scorching anymore.
Talks with you about the mundane and maybe you two can even catch up on recent anecdotes if you haven’t seen him in a while, since he does have the tendency to travel a lot.
He shares his latest poems with you, his thoughts, his musings. For Kazuha, it’s natural to be so open around you about what goes through his mind.
(Except perhaps his not-so-tiny crush on you)
((After all, you’re the source of most of his inspiration, even if you may not realize it))
You and Kazuha were walking down the shore, waves lapping at your bare feet. The water wasn’t cold, retaining the lingering warmth from the midday sun. In contrast to the sand, it was a nice refreshment, and the view of the sun approaching the horizon to soon be out of sight made you almost feel like you were walking inside the landscape of a painting.
Even then, the colors of the clouds—a swirling mix of oranges, blues, and purples—didn’t hold a candle to Kazuha.
You could tell he was lost in his thoughts; his eyes never stayed on one place for too long, darting around subtly as he took in every last detail of the things surrounding him. He was probably right in the middle of a burst of inspiration, the kind that had him weaving words from the mundane into a harmonious chain of words that highlighted their beauty.
His ruby red eyes fell on you, and you immediately looked away, as if his gaze had burned you… which wasn’t entirely inaccurate, considering he made you feel like you were inches away from the sun whenever he did so much as breathe near you.
Hopefully, he’d think the red cheeks you were now sporting were caused by the lighting.
“I haven’t gotten to enjoy a stroll down the beach like this for a long time,” he said, his voice not disturbing the melody the waves were making. In fact, he added onto it.
“Like this, how?” you asked, finding enough courage to look at him again. There was a gentle smile on his face, one which remained when he met your eyes once more.
“With a light heart and mind, and not dreading to find someone chasing after me if I glance over my shoulder.”
“I bet this is inspiring some poems, or at least a few good lines. The beach is pretty at this time of day,” you said, returning his smile with one of your own. You expected him to look around again and confirm what you had just said, but he kept looking at you. It almost felt like he was searching for an answer in your eyes, one to a question he hadn’t asked.
“Yes, the… beach is quite beautiful, but I can confidently say I enjoy the sight of her at every hour of the day.”
You blinked at the personification of something like the beach.
“The waves of her voice are a soothing balm to my senses, and just like how sand sticks to my skin, so does her touch linger, enough for me to archive it amongst my most treasured memories.”
It was difficult for you to not falter in your step, because oh, how easy it was to imagine he was talking about you and not the beach.
(If only you knew.)
You hadn’t even noticed you had stopped walking until Kazuha gently grabbed your hand and tugged you forwards.
“Come. There is still much left to see before it gets dark,” he said, and you followed. He didn’t pull his hand away, and deciding to take advantage of the opportunity, you didn’t either.
The warmth of his skin seeped into your skin, reaching your heart and rivaling the sun itself.

“Happy birthday. Good morning.”
Kazuha turned around and saw you holding two cups of tea, all while steam gently collided with the chilly winds of October.
To you, no age could diminish the pure adoration you had every time you saw him. His hair was not in its usual ponytail, and his eyes held the morning dawn. With gentle hands, he took one of the mugs from your hand and stared back at the scenery that was beyond the comfort of your balcony.
From the corner of your eyes, you saw him gently smiling as he took a sip.
“You made it exceptionally well today.”
You sighed in faux disappointment and rested your head on your propped up arm. “So, you’re saying my tea isn’t made good enough on other days? What a shame, Kazuha… what happened to the phrase ‘love is blind’?”
You couldn’t help but smile as he laughed. His chest rattled with joy, and his glee had warmed your heart amidst the cold breeze.
“Love may be blind, dear, but the tongue is as sharp as ever.”
“You are unfortunately right.”
You take a sip of your own and rest your hand on his arm. You must ask, “What are you doing up? The day has just started.”
“I was merely restless, is all.”
You stayed silent in hopes he would continue. He took a deep breath…and continued to gaze at the rising sun.
Putting the mug down onto a nearby table, you slid your hand to cup his face, turning it towards you. His lovely eyes now held your reflection--his world.
“My Kazuha…what troubles you?”
He set his mug down and brought your hand to his face to kiss your palm.
“It’s nothing really, especially something that should be worried about.”
“So then tell me: what is this ‘thing’ then? Your eyes hold worries, my love. If I can’t soothe your worry, at least let me help you carry it.”
You felt his smile in the palm of your hands, and you leaned forward to kiss his forehead. Kazuha grabbed your arms and let it wrap around his neck. His own arms snaked around your waist, and his eyes were now focused on you.
“I only wish for our days to be peaceful after this. It has quite the journey we’ve been through during and after the Decree. I just worry that time will greet us on a beautiful morning like this and declare our lives are at its end.”
You wistfully smiled. “It’s hard to enjoy the pleasures of life if we knew when it is up, isn’t it? It just gives us more reason to explore life. When time greets us, we will stand proud of our lives, our journeys, our sacrifices.”
Kazuha’s eyes crinkled as he took a deep breath and whispered, “You’re right. Thank you, love.”
Giggling, you whispered back, “All in a day’s work,” you quickly kissed him before he could process what happened, “of being the luckiest person alive.”
With Kazuha’s wide-opened eyes and glossy lips still processing the sudden kiss, you couldn’t help but kiss him again. You adjusted your arms to once again cup his face, and he pulled you in closer.
You pulled away slightly and began your too-familiar route of kissing his cheek, then his nose, up to his forehead, and then once more on his lips.
Kazuha tried to speak, however you comedically silenced him with every overexaggerated kiss.
“My dear- mmph! …I just wanted- …Dear-“
He gave up and let you continue.
When you leaned back, you were met with a glare with no fury. Kazuha’s cheeks were a lovely red, and he could barely look you in the eyes.
“Are you satisfied?”
You cheekily grinned.
“I don’t think you’re red enough,“ you leaned in and whispered, “Maybe I should-mmph!”
His hands clasped your mouth, “My love, the day had just started.”
When you only sighed but didn’t disagree, he continued.
“But…thank you. I did need to hear that.”
You kissed the hands covering your mouth.
“…If I let my hands go, will you promise to not attack me again?”
Your eyes wandered to the side in thought, before you shrugged.
He softly laughed. “Well, I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold you back either.”
His hands slowly fell from your face and back to resting on your waist.
“Happy birthday again, Kazuha. I’m forever proud of you and I am extremely blessed to accompany you on your journey.”
“And I, you.”
The morning sun’s beauty had lost to two lovers who had survived long days and longer nights in each other’s arms. As another year of Kazuha’s life had started, he had one wish: to spend every day with you by his side.
…
Your eyes held a mischievous glint. Kazuha, knowing what was meant to come, had sighed.
“I surrender. You can continue your attack.”
You giggled and pulled him closer to you. You kissed his cheek, before pausing.
“Are you sure? If you let me start now…I’m not letting you go.”
“Oh, what a shame…,” Kazuha grinned, “…So much to do…too bad my love wants me all to themselves.”
You grinned and continued your mission.
The day ahead could wait, Kazuha thought. If time were to ask him one day where he wanted to go back, he would run back to your arms and not have regretted a single moment. A life with you was enough.

a/n; happy (late) birthday flins! i felt like kazuha cuddles.. and got this.. also yes, i'm late, i tried to finish it on time so sorry if it's a bit rushed 🥹 and another note, i've never actually tried pumpkin spice lattes as one, i'm lactose intolerant (weak ahh guts ik😔), and two, halloween isn't in autumn/fall for me and it's not pumpkin season :/
K.KAZUHA — WRAP ME IN YOUR ARMS
laughter can be heard outside, gentle rain pattering against the glass of the mondstadt inn you and kazuha stay in.
it's warm, fire flickering idly inside the soot coated hearth. despite the multitude of crowds offering all sorts of activities, the both of you have decided to stay in. he doesn't mind the time spent with you, and honestly, you just didn't want to get wet.
and so here you sit, under a shared blanket, with one of his arms wrapped around your waist. his other hand holds a lidded cup, identical to yours. a pumpkin spice latte.
you've heard you either love it or hate it, and so decided, hey, since neither you nor kazuha has tried it, tonight's the night!
“it's very.. pumpkin,” you muse after the first sip, not quite sure what to make of it. it's sweet, which you assume is the doing of the whipped cream and cinnamon, but also.. pungent, almost spicy in it's sharpness. it's.. certainly something.
but clearly not off-putting, as you take another curious sip. “my love, i think that's why it's called a pumpkin spice latte,” kazuha remarks, almost cheekily so.
your head whips to the blond, glaring at him.
“don't start,” you warn, though more teasingly than actually threatening.
he hums, the flames nearby illuminating his soft features, and the playful smirk gracing his lips. after another moment, he changes the subject. “i quite like the taste.”
“i don't mind it, i guess,” you reply. “let me try yours.”
“we got the same thing,” he muses, letting you shift closer to him (which is impressive, because you were already glued to his side as is) and sit up.
you roll your eyes, even with the knowledge he most likely can't see it, before retorting, “what if they made yours better than mine?”
kazuha takes a sip calmly, swirling the cup slight as he replies. “i guess you can have a little bit.”
before you can eagerly swipe his drink, he places two fingers under your chin, and places his lips on yours. really, you can't taste any of his drink by this, but you're not complaining. not when his lips softly meet yours as if in apology. as if he's lucky to even be breathing the same air as you, his beloved muse.
you're the first to pull away.
“satisfied?”
“no,” you reply plainly, swiftly taking his latte faster than he can react. hey! that's not fair, his guard was lowered—
“yours is nicer!” you exclaim, handing back your cup with a grin. he blinks, and doesn't complain, not at seeing your content smile.
“happy halloween, my love," he whispers before pulling you closer.
“happy halloween, kazu.”
the both of you ended up falling asleep in each other's arms not long after, the fire's warmth and the comfort of each other's presence lulling you to rest easily.
yes, he did manage to steal a sip of yours (formerly his) when you were too busy playing with a strand of his hair to notice. you were right, that one really was made nicer, and you should never underestimate this man's ability to steal just because he has soft, adoring words.
murmured poetry to you until your breath steadied completely, and then drank the rest of both yours and his own lattes. he actually really likes them, and if you like it too, he'll get you both some in the morning.
didn't dress up, as you two didn't go out, but did offer to wear matching couple outfits beforehand.

"On Halloween's dark, mystical night,
Your love is a jack-o'-lantern's warm light.
In a sea of ghosts, ghouls, and frights,
You are the most hauntingly beautiful sight."
WANDERER — CARVE OUR INITIALS
“pleaseeeeeee?”
“no. i refuse to walk around begging for candy like some.. fool,” wanderer replies, refusing to go trick or treating with you for the fifth time tonight.
you've been trying to convince him for awhile now, and at some point nahida spotted you two. “if i may, can i offer a compromise?” the young ruler asks.
you tilt your head, curious despite being stubbornly set on wanting to do something. “yeah?”
“what if, instead of trick or treating, you two do pumpkin carving? that way y/n, you both still participate in a halloween festivity, and wanderer, you don't have to talk to anyone but her!”
wanderer and you blink in sync, long enough that nahida fiddles with her dress, before you exclaim, “you're a genius!” you pick her up in a warm hug, spinning her theatrically, which earns a scoff from wanderer, who crosses his arms as if that can hide his softened gaze.
he doesn't argue, both because nahida has perfect logic, and because he likes the excuse to stab something.
the dendro archon giggles, white hair bouncing like a bauble before you place her down gently. “enjoy your halloween, you two.”
right as she's about to leave, wanderer speaks up. “what are you doing for this stupid holiday anyway?” nahida blinks, clearly having not expected the question.
“i.. don't actually have anything planned—” you don't need more.
you grab her by her hand, and drag her towards you and your boyfriend. “well i’m not letting you spend it alone, so you're coming with us!”
nahida hesitates, not wanting to intrude, but when wanderer says, “come on,” her whole face lights up.
the three of you buy ripe pumpkins, nahida offering to pay in exchange for your company tonight.
you and wanderer end up arguing over the better design, which at some point went from bickering to flirting.. so nahida just finishes the designs with a fond, knowing grin. she doesn't mention the fact wanderer carved your initials on the inside, or the fact there's a heart around both the letters. nor does she mention the 'if you see this wan-wan, i love you <3' written on the inside of yours.
they end up looking absolutely beautiful. “yours looks like a deceased cat,” he says. “you look like a deceased cat.”
the dendro archon hovers her hands over the hollow vegetables, before they begin to glow a soft green from the inside, illuminating the designs, before you all place them outside the sanctuary of surasthana.
“you.. did better than i expected, y/n.” he ends up whispering when you two are alone, walking through the now empty grand bazaar. “careful baby, it sounds like you love me,” you tease. “i do. you idiot."
VENTI — WE WON FAIR AND SQUARE
the night coats mondstadt in starlight, decorations buzzing with life as people in costumes knock at doors. people, such as you and venti!
the bard wears flashy metal armour, attire you're sure is heavier than he makes it look, but he insists, “it's worth it so long as i get to be your knight is shining amour, my love!”
you're dressed up as a witch. nothing fancy, but as beautiful as the air is playful tonight. (thank you lisa). warm winds swirl through the markets, twirling around signs and swiftly circling doors, laughter and chatter a peaceful constant.
as you and your partner walk hand in hand, you spot a certain alchemist with his sister and the cavalry captain of favonius. klee is dressed up as a vampire, not wanting to go as a witch as.. she technically is one already, no?
“y/n! venti!!” the young girl exclaims, running towards you both eagerly before jumping in your arms. you catch her effortlessly, spinning her once before placing her down. “how do i look?” she asks, wide eyes blinking up at you both.
“positively delightful, windblume!” venti compliments with a chuckle. klee nods.
the blonde smiles brightly, gesturing proudly at kaeya and albedo. “and look at them! i got them to dress up as mario and luigi!” albedo adjusts the white gloves he's wearing, and kaeya tugs at his red hat in emphasis.
“i am unaware of who she speaks of, but she had fun acquiring these outfits for us,” her brother informs, factual as ever.
“gotta say, while red isn't my favourite colour, i certainly pull it off, no?” the cavalry captain purrs, winking (?) teasingly.
venti just side-eyes him, which makes kaeya dramatically gasp, one of his hands hitting his heart. "i'm literally the prettiest person to wear red ever! look at diluc, then me!"
“well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i suppose..” is all your boyfriend says, a chuckle escaping your lips before you can stop it.
“enough talking! i want my candyyy,” klee whines. “trick or treating! trick or treating!” she begins to chant.
kaeya laughs, and albedo sighs. “please be patient, klee. miss alice has already said we are to go trick or treating.”
“can me and y/n join?” venti suddenly asks. your eyebrows furrow, head whipping toward the bard. “windblumeee, we have nothing else to do, come onn!!” he whines.
you blink. “come on, princess. we can even make it a competition?” kaeya adds unhelpfully. klee's chanting only gets louder, clearly in a means to convince you.
under your lover's theatrical pout, kaeya's persistence, klee's cheering, and even albedo's gaze softly urging you to participate, as there is no harm, you relent. “fine,” sighing, you take venti’s hand as he begins to drag you off.
“winner is whoever gets the most! loses owes the other a bottle of wine!” the bard sing-songs excitedly.
“and klee gets to eat all their candy!!” klee adds before she's dragging the men by their hands.
the five of you gather under windrise to count, albedo setting up a picnic blanket.
you and venti won. (he used the wind to steal more candy once you took some from a bowl that said ‘one piece only please').
klee still manages to steal half of yours anyway, not that either of you mind.
idle chatter fills the silence, your hand tangling with venti's as he muses pictures in the stars. “none of them shine as bright as your eyes though, my celilia.”
as you two leave, klee runs up and hands you a sheet of paper. opening it, you see a messy drawing of you all. venti and you leaning on the tall tree, albedo and kaeya talking, and klee in the middle with a big grin. “for you!”
K.C.FLINS — WHERE ARE WE?
you, for all your faux confidence, are the most easily startled person flins knows. it's not even that you find the place scary, you've seen worse with a boyfriend that tends to a cemetery. it's just.. you get caught very easily off guard.
which means by the time you're halfway through the haunted house, you're gripping flins the way a warrior would grip their sword in battle. not that he minds.
he isn't phased. at all. a person dressed as a clown tried to sneak up on him, and then ended up moving back at catching his unnatural amber eyes. he had just blinked, unsure what to make of their reaction, but you were already pulling him along before he could assure to the scare actor he didn't mean to cause any fear.
truly, he's never seen you look so motivated before, walking quickly, brimming with determination as you reason, “the sooner we get out of here, the sooner these people will stop—”
“there's one beside you right now, love. to your right,” he warns. you jump anyway, lifting his hand intertwined with yours in front of your like a weapon. he just rubs his thumbs against your knuckles, “shall we continue?”
you squeeze his hand before clearing your throat, standing straight like you didn't just screech like a child. “of course! everything's fine, i'm fine ahah.”
“i never said you weren't,” he says softly, letting you choose to either lead or let him. allowing you to set your own pace, flins will reassure you that he's got you, even if you are practically dragging him through the dark halls.
you remind him of a fox. beautiful, charming, and skittish. easily flustered, yet intelligent when you want to be.
he could go on for hours listing all the reasons he loves you, yet if he could pick one, in this moment? the way you hold him like he isn't dangerous. you hold him like he's someone trustworthy, someone who will protect you, who won't cause harm. not many look at him like that, not with that.. softness.
if you get too scared, he'll let you ride on his back for the duration of the haunted house. honestly, it makes the whole experience better. youre less worried and more thrilled, chuckling as he purposefully walks through a spiderweb. don't worry, he'll help pick it out of your hair after, he's just enjoying the experience for now.
bro probably feels at home here—
will ask you later how you even found this place. admired the wood quality and craftsmanship, though thought the decorations were lacking realistic features. dead people look nothing like these so called ‘zombies’.
gentleman down to his very core, yet.. painfully oblivious to social cues. will charm the scare actors without realising they are paid to attempt to frighten him. "my, that coat looks stunning. may i ask which animal that fur belongs to?" "i'm kyryll chudomirovich flins, but feel free to call me flins." "that is a beautiful jewel there, may i purchase it?"
as.. strange as that is, you will admit, his unbotheredness does make this whole place easier to get through. his calm eases your nerves after awhile, which he notices, so continues being.. well, himself.
a/n; flins is actually so rushed i'm sorry, i just wanted to finish this quickly so i can get back to lyrot 😔💔
➷ author's notes : isabel comback??? woahhh!! that said happy bday to kazuha tloml!!
➷ word count : 1201
The morning starts softly—gentle, golden light spilling across the tatami mats, the faint hum of waves rocking against the side of the ship, and the steady rhythm of Kazuha’s breathing beside you. He always wakes early, but today, it seems even he has surrendered to the rare comfort of sleeping in. His hair is a little mussed, his cheek pressed against his folded arm, and his lips curve just slightly—like he’s dreaming of something peaceful.
You lie there for a long moment, memorizing the shape of him. The quiet curve of his shoulders, the faint pattern of sunlight trailing over his bare skin, the way the air seems calmer around him. You know the world beyond your little cabin is wide and wild, but in this moment, all you can think about is how it feels smaller when he’s this close—manageable, warm, almost kind.
Then, softly, you whisper, “Happy birthday, my heart.”
He stirs, eyes blinking open with slow grace, lashes catching the morning light. There’s a sleepy hum from his throat as he turns to look at you, red eyes half-lidded and soft. “...So early?” he murmurs, voice rough with sleep.
“It’s not early,” you whisper back, brushing a strand of hair from his face. “You’ve already wasted half your birthday in bed.”
That makes him smile, a quiet laugh escaping him as he reaches up to rest his hand over yours. “If I am to spend half my day anywhere,” he says, “I can think of no better place than beside you.”
You roll your eyes, even as your heart skips a beat. He knows exactly how to fluster you, and he knows it too well. Still, you pull away and sit up, pretending to ignore the amused look he gives you.
“Come on,” you say, “I made breakfast.”
At that, his brow lifts. “Breakfast?”
You nod, trying to suppress a smile. “If you can call it that. Don’t expect anything too fancy. The kitchen on this ship isn’t exactly made for birthday feasts.”
He sits up, tugging his hair into a loose ponytail, and you notice his eyes following you as you set out the small spread: rice, grilled fish, tamagoyaki, and a little bowl of pickled vegetables you’d gotten from a vendor back at the harbor. It’s simple—humble, even—but you’d spent the early dawn preparing it quietly, wanting it to be something made by your hands.
Kazuha’s gaze softens as he joins you, settling beside you with that graceful stillness that always feels part of him. “You didn’t have to do all this,” he says.
You shrug. “Maybe not. But I wanted to.”
There’s a pause—a quiet that stretches just enough for the breeze outside to weave through it. Then, he smiles again, that small, real one that starts in his eyes. “Then I will enjoy it with all my heart.”
You eat together in easy silence. Occasionally, he teases you about something—the way you fuss over whether the rice is too soft, or how you almost burned the fish—and you respond by nudging him in the side, earning another quiet laugh. But mostly, you just sit there, basking in the kind of peace that doesn’t need to be filled.
Afterward, you insist on taking him out. The Alcor anchors near a quiet island, small and hidden away—a place Beidou recommended when you told her you wanted something private for his birthday. The crew, ever fond of Kazuha, pretended not to know why you’d been sneaking supplies the past week.
As you walk along the shore, Kazuha carries his sword loosely in one hand, his sleeve fluttering in the wind. The sky above is endless blue, streaked with thin clouds, and the air carries the scent of salt and sun. You find a spot where the sand is warm and soft, and from your bag, you pull out something that makes him blink in surprise: a small paper lantern.
“I thought,” you say, smiling shyly, “we could light one together tonight.”
He takes it gently, his fingers brushing yours. “You’ve thought of everything, haven’t you?”
“I wanted today to be special.”
He’s quiet for a moment, turning the lantern in his hands. Then, his gaze lifts to yours, and there’s that look again—the one that feels like it sees too much. “Every day with you feels special already,” he says softly. “But today... I will treasure all the more.”
You can’t quite respond; instead, you take his hand and lead him further down the beach. The two of you spend the afternoon walking through shallow water, watching the way the light refracts through the waves. He recites a few lines of poetry—old verses about the sea and fleeting seasons—and you listen, heart swelling with quiet fondness. He always speaks of impermanence, of drifting winds and passing time, but there’s something in the way he looks at you that feels steady—anchored, even if just for a moment.
When the sun dips low, the two of you return to your small setup: a blanket on the sand, a small meal packed from the ship, and the lantern waiting to be lit. You sit together, knees brushing, as the sky turns pink and gold.
Kazuha watches the horizon for a long while before he speaks again. “It’s strange,” he says softly. “Birthdays used to mean little to me. I stopped counting them long ago, when every year felt like a borrowed one.”
You look at him, heart aching a little at the quiet truth in his tone. “And now?”
He smiles faintly. “Now, I find myself wishing time would slow.”
You reach for his hand, squeezing it gently. “Then we’ll make today last as long as we can.”
He turns to you, eyes catching the light of the setting sun—and you swear, for a heartbeat, they shine gold. “My soul,” he murmurs, “you always know just what to say.”
When night falls, you light the lantern together. The flame flickers to life, warm and golden, and you lift it slowly, letting the wind take it. You both watch as it drifts upward, rising higher and higher until it’s just a soft glow against the stars.
Kazuha’s arm slips around your shoulders, pulling you close as you watch it vanish into the night. His voice is a whisper against your hair. “If I could, I would send a thousand of these. Each one a wish for the years to come—with you.”
You lean into him, smiling. “That’s a lot of wishes.”
“I have a lot of reasons to make them.”
The night deepens around you. The sea hums softly, and the stars shimmer above like scattered glass. You sit there for a long time, your head resting against his shoulder, his thumb tracing gentle circles over your hand.
Later, when the world is quiet and the lanterns have faded, he looks at you again—truly looks—and whispers, “Thank you. For this day. For every day.”
You kiss him, slow and unhurried, and when you pull away, you whisper back, “Happy birthday, darling.”
And for once, Kazuha—the wandering soul, the drifting leaf—feels utterly still.

Something cold drips down the side of your face. Your serene expression twitches ever-so-slightly as your brows furrow together, and slowly, your lashes flutter open.
There’s a nip in the air — or maybe it’s just the chill of slumber having settled in your bones. Blinking a few times, you allow your eyes a moment to get used to the dimness surrounding you.
Wearily, you raise your head, but just as you’re about to roll over and prop yourself up on your elbows, you’re reminded of Kazuha’s presence behind you. The man lies fast asleep with his chest pressed against your back and an arm wrapped around your waist. Craning your neck to take a peek at him over your shoulder, you come to find that strands of his pale hair have fallen over his face, yet his expression remains peaceful.
Though at the start of the night his haori was neatly draped over the both of you, the article of clothing has mysteriously shifted to only cover your side of the makeshift bedding during your sleep. It’s not the first: Unlike you, he doesn’t seem to be the least bit bothered by the biting cold, and he has never minded skimping on his own comfort to take care of yours. A small, pouty smile finds its way onto your lips.
Carefully creating an inch of distance between him and you, you take a look at your surroundings. The campfire has gone out, is the first thing you take note of. Having gathered a generous pile of logs inside the ring of stones earlier in the evening, you made sure that the flames would last for the entire night, yet now, though the wood still rests in the pit, only embers remain of the warmth you fell asleep next to. Though, judging from the smoke still rising from the heap, the fire must not have been extinguished too long ago.
As carefully as you’re able, you take hold of Kazuha’s hand and lift it off your abdomen. Gently settling the limb by his side, you slip out from under the haori, cover his form with it, and crawl out of your makeshift shelter.
It’s dead quiet in the depths of the forest you’re camping in. The trees, climbing high above you, shield the sight of the Inazuman stars from your view. Though the moon is in full glow, very little of its light makes it past the dense layer of leaves.
A droplet of water falls on the crown of your head. You raise your face towards the sky just in time to catch another right in the middle of your forehead. It doesn’t take long for the pieces to click together in your head, and to confirm your suspicions, you scurry over to the campfire and cautiously brush one of the logs with the tip of your finger. Sure enough, the charred wood is soggy with moisture.
Huffing out loud, you take a glance around you. You’re hardly able to see anything past a few meters’ distance in the faint glow of the embers. To your dismay, there don’t seem to be any stray branches or twigs around. For a moment, you contemplate on whether or not you should borrow Kazuha’s sword to go fetch some yourself, but as a bright flash illuminates your surroundings, your thoughts are drawn elsewhere.
A roaring rumble splits through the charged air, shaking the very earth beneath your feet. Instinctively lifting your arms up to cover your head, you listen as the sound, as deafening as the impact of the Shogun’s Musou no Hitotachi, echoes through the entire land. A mere second after, the sky falls on you.
The trees do nothing to shield you from the sudden onset of downpour, and you quickly abandon your mission of reigniting the fire. With your teeth clacking against each other, you turn around to rush back to your shelter.
You come to find that the noise has reached Kazuha’s ears as well: With sluggish movements, he sits up and pats around the spot you were resting on as if searching for something, but after a second or two, his senses pick up with him, and his face turns towards you.
Letting out a high-pitched squeak, you scramble back to him, diving back under the cote like you were made of sugar. Letting out a gentle chuckle, Kazuha spreads his arms open wide and catches you back into his embrace.
”Mmmh, rain...”, you complain into the crook of his neck, nuzzling your cheek against his warm skin. ”I think the shelter’s leaking.”
”Oh. Is it?” he scratches the base of your neck gently while reaching his free hand up to check the broad leaves that make up the roof of your lean-to. ”Perhaps it’s just condensation?”
Another flash of lightning momentarily dyes the world black and white. The flare paints angular shadows across Kazuha's round face before another boom of thunder causes the ground to quake. Soon, the noise of the rain beating against the shelter drowns out any other sounds of nature.
You snuggle closer to him, wrapping your arms around his waist. He lets out a soft, melodious hum as his hand moves to pat your head.
”Are you cold?” he asks, shifting to rub his palm up and down the curve of your shoulder blade.
”A bit”, you answer. ”The fire went out.”
”Had I been blessed with a pyro vision, I would change that for you”, he sighs. Loosening his hold on you for a moment, he undrapes the haori from his shoulders and instead wraps it around yours. ”It seems we’re going to have to make do for the night.”
Another flash. This time, the roar is so deafening that you have to raise your hands to your ears.
Carefully, Kazuha's arm goes to properly slide around your tensed form.
”Ah”, he vocalizes. ”Does it frighten you?”
“Mm, not really”, you shake your head. “It’s just really loud.”
“I see.”
His chest vibrates with something akin to a soft laugh. Then, just as gentle as has always been with you, he snakes his hand around the small of your back and urges you to lie back down on the ground with him.
”We’re going to be alright. The storms never last long”, Kazuha assures you as he settles your head to rest on his bicep.
”Mm-mh”, you mumble against his chest.
”Would this help?”
Carefully, pulling the makeshift blanket further up your body on his way, he moves the arm on your waist over your head. There, he rests its weight against your ear.
”Does this muffle it at all?” he inquires.
Nestling closer against him, you take in a deep breath through your nose, inhaling his earthy scent.
”Yeah. Thank you. Kazuha.”
Along with the last word, a smile tugs on the corners of your mouth. An indistinct, delicate feeling makes its home inside your chest.
Kazuha lets out a hum, and the shape of the sound tells you that you currently share the same expression.
”You’re welcome”, he says. ”I’ll find us breakfast in the morning. Sleep well, my love.”
A/N
Just in time for his birthday!! I know everyone's used to getting only dark work from me, but as I threatened in the October plans post, I wanted to try writing the regular sort of content, too.
Professionals please answer: Is the thing he's wearing a haori or is it something else? I can't tell. I'm not gonna lie, my last recollection of seeing Kazuha in the game anywhere else than my party slots is him in that one mini event, high as fuck talking about some banjo and then giving it to us. But, be not mistaken, I still love him all the same ദ്ദി ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ )
⤷ two year anniversary & special birthday present to myself // written in second pov.
“happy birthday, starlight.” kazuha presses a kiss to the side of your cheek. leaning his forehead against yours, you carefully watch as he reaches out to weave your fingers together. bringing them close to his lips, he presses down on them. his touch leaves a lasting warmth on your skin. one that makes your ears grow hot and face slightly flustered.
your next words are mumbles, “how many years has it been?”
“two years.” he replies, “two years of loving you.”
two long years of being together. in hindsight, it sounds like very little time. but with everything that has happened, the journey you’ve been on, the changes that manifested in you, it was a long one. you became older, more mature, and more beautiful as seconds pass. in those two years, kazuha has seen you do incredible things. from taking on new jobs, to finding new opportunities to grow, he’s seen you at every turn.
your travels together are never ending. each step you take, he takes one with you. no matter how far you fall, he will always be there to catch you, just as he always has before. he’ll wrap his arms around you, whisper to you love songs that will keep you on your very toes, and kiss you even when the stars die. his love for you is palpable. heart so tender and sweet, you could hold it in your hands.
littering your hand with kisses, he ignores the tender light of the sun. looking toward the future, he sees you, laying beside him with your legs crossed together in the grass. the white daises that accompany the two of you rest beside your bodies. they shimmer and glisten from the morning dew. the moment is perfect. being with you is perfect. and being alive is perfect. everything is so beautiful, you feel like you’re about to cry.
you’re brighter than any star. more beautiful than any flower he’s ever seen. more kind than any breeze he’s encountered. he’s head over heels. having fallen like autumn’s first leaves, he is proud to say: i love you, because you deserve it. seeing you like this, nearly on the brink of crying, he trusts the universe will always bring him back to you.
you deserve the entire world and more. every time you cry, he hopes he could wipe away those tears, kiss them away on his knuckles and allow the moon to cast light on you. every time you smile brightly, he wants to spin you around. he wants everyone to hear your joyous laugh, and hum like a choir to the happiness you elude.
and likewise, you think he is just as beautiful. perhaps even more than the moon itself. if you were the sun and the stars, he would be the moon and galaxy, holding you in this eternal embrace. although there were times the two of you had to be apart, destiny tied your fates together. you would always remain in his sights and so would he. he was always at the back of your mind, grazing over it with his innocent smiles. and you were always in his, dancing along to the songs he has written for you.
he gave you a reason to continue fighting. a story to tell—and a love to experience. being by his side helped open your eyes to the mundane. small things became memorable. like the feeling of silken tofu on your tongue or the warmth of your pillows every night, you’ve come to appreciate what life has given you.
as you squeeze his hand, kazuha lets out a very delicate and easy-going laugh. every passing season, every moment spent by your side, it has made him feel more alive. more real. when you wrap your arms around his neck, kissing the side of his cheek and tickling his ear with your warm breaths, he prays times like this will stay forever. if he could stay by your side, he’d give you his seasons.
lacing his pinky with yours, he sinks into your touch, closing the distance and letting your lips do the rest of the talking. using his other hand, he pulls you on top of him, letting you lay your weight against his body. neither of you needed words to express how you were feeling. not for this moment. not ever. kazuha is confident he knows you better than he knows himself. after all, he could hear your heart’s beating answer through your gentle lips, and they sing carols for him.
two years of being together, you were certain you found love.
When you're met face to face with your ex-lover, you can't help but be cruel. But he's still as kind as ever, and it breaks your heart once more.

A/N: another 'to-be-fic' that has been ⟡ repurposed⟡ OK but hear me out, I fully vouch for Kazuha being broken up with in his first relationship. You cannot tell me this man would choose his lover over his thirst for exploring the land (once he has explored to his hearts content, he'd realise how much he misses you and regret taking it all for granted which is where we are now)

There was a realm of emotions you never wanted to experience in this lifetime, and tonight, the trigger was right in front of you. Beautiful, white, porcelain. Kazuha. He was as ethereal as the day you had first met him. The day you had first kissed him. The day you had first lay in bed with him. The days you would laugh, smile and cry with him right beside you.
But those were all just memories now, and they were all too painful to look back on. Tainted, burnt into flames with nothing but ash and smoke.
He chose a life full of wondering, exploring and travel over the likes of you. Of course he had never said it explicitly, but the days coming down to your eventual breakup let you know exactly why you couldn't keep holding onto him.
You were too attached to a man who wanted to roam free. It wasn't his fault. And it wasn't yours either. But when he left you in Liyue, you couldn't help but feel enraged at the thought that he was out doing brilliant things without you holding him back.
And here you were at a house-party your friend Yanfei had dragged you into. You wish you stood your ground and just stayed home. That way you wouldn't have to watch as your group and his group of friends surrounded him with welcomes. From the sounds of it, he had just arrived back into Liyue a few days ago, to 'take a break' and 'rest'.
You look away from Kazuha immediately, feeling your stomach flip and throat burn. You might as well start tearing up right on the spot, but you didn’t want to give him that pleasure. No, who were you kidding, he’d probably be just as upset to see you react like that.
He was that kind after all. A kind boy, a sweet boy, one who would never tell you no or even dare raise his voice at you. You were always the mean one, the monster who would yell and scream.
You were emotional, he was grounded.
Kazuha tries all too well to mask his own emotions, not wanting to stare at the girl he adored for oh so many years - knowing well it would make you uncomfortable. More uncomfortable than you already were of course, since you were already looking away from him. But his eyes couldn’t help but shamelessly gloss over your figure. He wished he could see your face more clearly, he wished you would turn back around and let him admire how you've grown a little more.
“That’s amazing Kazuha” the voices made him snap back to conversation, smiling as if he hadn’t been sidetracked moments before. He smiles as usual and returns to conversation, not missing how his ex-lover had snuck away from the crowd.

“It’s been a while” Kazuha starts, his voice was as gentle as ever, it made you want to sigh and rest your head onto his shoulder. Like you once did. You huffs softly, looking to the side. He was a kind boy, but that didn't mean he wasn't persistent enough to follow you through the night and wait for a chance to talk to you.
He was kind, but he was shameless - perhaps it was a trait he learnt from you.
“If you would be so kind Kazuha, I really rather not act like we’re on good terms. It betrays my morals of being truthful to people. Even you.” you speak, earning a look from Kazuha where he raises his brows,
“I didn’t know we were on bad terms”
“I didn’t say that, I just said we aren’t on good terms” you correct him and he stifles a small giggle. The sound was melodic, it made you glance at him without hesitation. As if a bell had rung to alert a dog that there was food. Oh how he was still so enchanting.
“I see. Well, I’d still like to catch up with you, regardless”
“Well, I don’t” she says, “You don’t get to leave and come back into my life as you please, Kazuha. I’m not a motel”
“Y/n”
Perhaps it was his pushback, or perhaps it were the fact that he had called you by your name. It reminded you again that what you had was gone.
“No! I don’t want to see your face ever again. I’ll be civil since we have the same friends and for some reason, you’re quite the name around here. But do not expect me to even glance your way when we’re alone. I despise you”
The last words made Kazuha wince a little, his eyes soft and pained as he watches you walk away.
He knew he should tread lightly around you, but even that wasn’t enough. He knew the right thing was to truly leave you alone, but his selfish desires of having her at least as a friend kept him trying to win her back.
It was wrong for him to want you back, even as a friend. But he was shameless.

“Kazuha…” your breath was warm, like your cheeks. Kazuha imagined, they were pink and hot, he felt like stroking them just to feel what the heat felt like on her skin. The night had passed extremely slow for him, but he was sure you would saw the opposite. With the amount you drank, you probably wont even remember most of it.
Of course, he was looking at you the whole time. And maybe, just maybe, you felt him looking. He wondered if that were the cause for your now intoxicated state.
“Mmn?” he hums, eyes narrowing a little as his fingers softly cup your cheek, soothingly rubbing over your gentle skin as you melt into his cool touch.
“I missed you, a whole lot” you sigh, closing your eyes, as if you'd fall asleep right there on his palm. Kazuha’s lips quirk into a small smile. He shouldn’t be enjoying this as much as he is, it wasn’t right to have you speak your truth when you were intoxicated like this.
But you were being so awful to him just moments ago.
Rightfully so, but still.
“Is that so?” he taunts, and yet there’s something so beautifully soft about his voice, almost edging her into oblivion. You hum, nodding against his palm.
“Yeah” you breathe
“Yeah?”
Your lips pout a little, it was involuntary of course, Kazuha knew that habit of yours. You were close to fully passing out, he could even understand from the weight of your hand on his palm. Kazuha scoffs before pulling you in closer and taking ahold of you properly, hoisting you up and into his palms.
“I wonder who would be picking you up if it wasn’t me” he mumbles mostly to himself as he goes in search for Yanfei. But through countless efforts he came to the conclusion that she had probably left. He remembered her talking about a court case early the next morning.
With a sigh, Kazuha clutched onto you a little tighter, mentally deciding he would take you to his place. Though, he was already dreading your reaction the morning when you wake.

Kazuha places you as softly as he could on his bed. He hasn’t had to take care of you much like this before since you were never reckless with alcohol. So it a first for him too. He didn’t know how he felt about it. One part of him was pained that you felt this uncomfortable around him, to drown yourself and intoxicate yourself to such and extent. And the other side of him, well, he was rather amused.
You flutter your eyes open, squinting and moaning a little as you twist and turn, trying to get yourself back up but Kazuha ushers you to lay back down.
“Hmn… where…huh?” you mumble, still drowsy but incredibly stubborn, even making Kazuha huff as he sits in front of you, giving up with ushering you back to sleep.
He was bracing himself for a lecture, scream, even a slap, but you were still far from sober, he could tell with the way your eyes softened and lips smiled warmly at him. He could tell immediately, that you weren't your rational self.
Sober you would never jump into his arms the way you did just then.
Kazuha felt his heart skip a beat, his frame was frozen before he finally gave in, patting your back a little awkwardly. He didn’t want to encourage you, but he was relishing in the moment, just the slightest.
“Kazuha…”
“Yes?”
“You took me back? Is this real?” you say innocently enough to shatter his heart. The way you looked so incredibly innocent, so devout, patient, as if you had been waiting for centuries at his doorstep, just waiting for him.
“I missed you so much” you whisper again, tears brimming in your eyes making the boy panic a little. He leans in immediately to wipe them away but it seemed to encourage you even more. Before he knew it, you were sobbing right in front of him.
“Y/n please…” he says,
“I missed you. I missed you so much”
“I know” he says, “I know. I missed you too”
“You’re a liar” you say, your voice cracking as you break into tears again, the very way you spoke made Kazuha begin to shed his own tears.
“Lets go back to sleep, hm?” he says, a small smile, a fake one as he gently pushes you down, “we can talk about it later.”
⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ˖ִ ࣪⚝₊ ⊹ ˖ִ ࣪⚝₊ ⊹˚. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡
Kazuha awakens the next morning with the sound of your shriek. He sits up straight, frazzled, his back hurting from what he can only imagine was the effects of sleeping on plain wooden flooring. It takes him exactly a second to understand his surroundings, and what present he was in.
And once he does, he takes in a breath, and breathes out.
“Calm down, please?” he says, standing up and gently patting his clothing so it lay straighter. You were flustered, as expected, eyes wide as you looks at Kazuha, scanning him up and down. He didn’t notice that part.
“I tried to find Yanfei to send you home, but she had already left. You passed out and I couldn’t ask for your address either so I brought you here. Nothing happened, I promise.”
You seemed to calm down at his explanation. In truth there was no reason for you to worry. Even without a promise from Kazuha, you were pretty certain he would never try anything either way. He wasn’t that type.
“I’ll fix breakfast. You should shower up. I’ll leave you some clothes” he says, breaking you away from your thoughts. You couldn’t say a single thing. You didn’t know what to say. You were so awful to him last night, you cant imagine how much more awful you were when you drunk. To make it worse, putting him in a position where he had to take care of you... it made you cringe all over again. You wanted to hide away and bury yourself that instant, really. But Kazuha was still as prefect and poise, charming and radiant as ever.
A saint, pure and kind.
You didn’t deserve him.
You shouldn’t have talked to him like that.
You swallow your pride and decide to stay silent. Thanking Kazuha softly as he passes you some of his clothes to wash off. When you come out, you're nervous, as if you were strangers yet again. You miss the way Kazuha’s eyes look you up and down - his cheeks a little rosy when he looks away and sets two plates on the table.
“You didn’t have to” you start, looking at the waffles that he had prepared, it was nostalgic. You almost felt your throat clog up, the memories between you were still so fresh in your mind.
“They’re your favourite” he smiles, cutting into his own waffle, eyes intent on yours. You don't say much. Though the meal was silent, your mind did most the talking, ranting, rambling; memories flashing left right and center, your heart racing and never stopping. All because of him. It was exhausting.
You two weren’t even speaking, but it was all so exhausting.
“Shinobu called me just then, she was planning a camping trip with the rest. They invited me to go along.” Kazuha started, he looked a little nervous even speaking of it, you knew where this was going and you were dreading it. You were invited to this camping trip too.
“I…I know it might be uncomfortable if I tag along, so I wanted to reassure you that I won’t go.”
Your eyes widen and eyebrows shoot up. And just like that, your heart also sinks. Oh no. You felt terrible. Your words must have really settled in on him. It was true you would be incredibly uncomfortable putting up a front in front of everyone, but your didn’t want to isolate Kazuha either. Especially when his travels were all on his own too. And he was likely wanting to spend some time with his friends too.
It was just unfortunate how your circles were so close.
You shake your head,
“I could care less if you came along” you start, almost cussing at yourself for being so nonchalant about it, “It would be rude to turn down their offer, me being uncomfortable doesn’t doesn't compare to the joy the rest would feel having you back”
Kazuha is stunned at your words, but more at your ability to dismiss yourself so easily. He always knew you were hard on herself, he wanted to tell you that you were wrong. At least, in his eyes, your discomfort outweighed everything else in this world.
“I’ll tell them you changed your mind” you mumble, eating your last piece of waffle before taking your plate up to the kitchen. Kazuha felt a little heat in his cheeks, nodding like a small schoolboy.
She was still kind as ever, selfless, and beautiful.
guitarist bf!kazuha, who’s so good with his fingers it’s unfair — like he was meant to touch you. he starts slow, always slow, like he’s reading the sheet music of your body. spreads your thighs with quiet reverence, knuckles brushing your inner thighs as he hums under his breath, like he’s tuning an instrument.
“relax, love,” he says, and slides one finger in — deep, deliberate, curved just right. your breath catches.
his smile grows soft, almost smug. “see? perfect pitch.”
guitarist bf!kazuha who fingers you backstage after a show, still wearing his guitar strap around his shoulder like a damn accessory. he’s sweaty, breathless, high on adrenaline — and you’re moaning against his neck, thighs shaking around his wrist as he crooks his fingers slow and deep inside you.
"you make prettier sounds than my guitar, you know that?" he whispers, and presses his forehead to yours. "i could play you forever."
guitarist bf!kazuha who eats you out while his guitar rests by the bed like an open secret. he kisses your thighs like he’s writing a verse into your skin, traces lyrics along your hips with his tongue before dipping it lower — slow, teasing, dragging. you’re tugging at his messy hair, whimpering his name like a prayer, and he just hums against your clit like it’s nothing.
“don’t hide your voice,” he murmurs, voice low, hoarse. “i want to hear every note you give me.”
guitarist bf!kazuha who fingers you while you sit on his lap in the studio, the room dim and cluttered with empty coffee cups, soundproof foam, and half-finished love songs. his hand slips beneath your skirt without a word — two fingers sliding inside, thumb circling you lazily while his other hand strums muted chords on the acoustic guitar resting between your bodies.
“stay quiet, love,” he says, gently curling his fingers. “i’m recording this session.”
guitarist bf!kazuha who keeps a recording of your moans in a private file. it's layered under soft acoustic chords, subtle enough that no one else would hear it — but he knows it's there. he listens to it when he misses you. touches himself to the sound of your breath catching when he made you come on his fingers, the wet glide of your cunt, your voice whispering his name like you were scared the walls would hear.
you asked him once if he ever writes songs about you. he smiled.
“all the quiet ones,” he said. “the ones no one else hears but me.”

HIII i love ur writing ^_^ could i request a kazuha x reader where kazuha loves to tease the reader? nsfw or sfw is ok!!
✧. ┊ Thanks! I'm glad that you like my writings (≧▽≦). In regards to your request, sure, I love Kazuha sm he's a cutie, here you have some headcanons of him teasing his partner ( ꈍᴗꈍ). This one will be mostly soft/fluff just like him. I hope you like it <3
✦ Category: Fluff, established relationship.
✦ Warnings(?): +18 just bc of one. But I still give the warning uh.
✧. ┊ POV:
"Kazuha is your partner, sometimes he can get playful, how would he tease you?"
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
❀ Kazuha is the type of partner whose teasing is so soft it's almost imperceptible... Almost. But you, as his girlfriend, would notice right away—because most of the time, it's with you.
❀ He would say it so casually, in the middle of one of his usual compliments to you, just to see how you laugh or blush furiously.
❀ He would do this often when the two of you are alone. Actually, he would physically tease you when you're alone—brush his lips against yours and pull away just to see you pouting unconsciously. Adorable.
❀ Ah, Kazuha would have this habit of brushing your hair away from your face... then get closer and whisper one of his sweet words with the clear intention of making you flustered. Then, casually... he would plant a kiss at the top of your ear.
❀ "That was unfair..." you would say, looking away completely flustered. He would look at you like a man drunk in love and say, "Every reaction you give me makes me wonder if I'm really awake... You sure I'm not dreaming?" Your ears would turn red. "You're impossible, you know..." But you're smiling.
❀ Tease him back—come on—say something sassy when he doesn't expect it, and he'll look at you surprised at first... then stare at you with a playful look in his beautiful eyes. "What a cruel move... Shall I get ready for my comeback next time, my dear?"
❀ He enjoys making you nervous. Kazuha will casually get closer and kiss the corner of your lips. If you stare at him expecting a full kiss, he'll encourage you to give it to him—softly, of course—because this guy is the definition of a candy shaped as a person.
❀ He gets... incredibly possessive when it's just the two of you alone. "I'm the only one who gets to see you this way... Right?" He’s whispering in your ear while hugging you from behind. His lips would casually—not so casually—brush against your ear, and you’d turn red. "You're red again, love... If I continue, what other types of beautiful reactions would you give me?"
❀ He teases through kisses. He’ll be kissing you, the kiss gets deep, and you'll hear his whimper—a soft "Mm..." against your lips. And when he carefully bites your bottom lip... he’ll pull away. Just like he wasn’t stealing your breath a few seconds ago.
❀ When the two of you are in his bedroom or yours, under the sheets, no clothes—just skin to skin... he’ll tease you, because he wants you to say you’re his and only his. "I wonder what would happen if I kiss you here..." And he’ll begin to trail soft kisses on your neck, then your jaw, and stop at your lips. "You look so gorgeous... Even the stars couldn't compare." His forehead will press against yours, and he’ll blush—not softly, no—he’ll be so red when he whispers against your lips: "Go ahead, darling... Say you’re mine, just like I’m yours."
