#the way as soon as carmy showed any interest in richie's experience richie immediately opened up #like. immediately. & it was like he was immediately lighter; smiling. he wanted to talk to carmy about everything. so badly. :(#and that's so terrifying; he and carmy have both run from that need for connection with each other and tried to smother it dead #this man is so fucking isolated and hurt and it hurts my heart :(#but yeah we always knew carmy was so deeply stuck in his own experience of things it blinded him to others'#and how many times have i rambled abt him taking richie for granted #but man hearing him just straight up say 'I didn't realize you'd lose someone too' like that. necessary.#carmrich #the bear s4 #the bear

CARMY & RICHIE THE BEAR, S1

#s4!#initial thoughts are i didn't get everything i was hoping for but i got a lot & loved the season overall #i love what they did with richie #and most of what they did with carmy too; i think any quibbles i have are mainly with the execution #it didn't necessarily not make sense to move as it did but there was some emotional arc stuff that maybe should've been slowed down #and i feel very ambivalent about the donna-carmy arc overall #lots and lots and lots to process when it's not 2am #who's gonna make gifs of carmy and richie in the bisexual lighting and carmy in his childhood bedroom #the bear #the bear s4

#among so many other things i love how they are so in tune with each other AND STILL so closed off; walls up #all of that after s1 is carmy of course #think some of it's part of that carmy pattern: get into a habit or a groove that seems to work w someone and just--#let that do some - or a lot - of the relationship's heavy lifting and let you avoid the scary real vulnerability stuff. cf the 'sorry' sign #i don't need them to “make up” so much as i just need them to have the face to face fight that's been brewing since forever #and directly address literal decades of pain and resentment #i always think abt that quick shot of carmy just giving richie a Look when he pokes his head out the door at the start of fishes #asking if there's family shit he should know about lmao..........#would also be happy if they just punched it out and cried all over each other and then kissed #s4 make it happen #i'm sorry and i love you and i'm sorry #carmrich #the bear

#no we can’t talk about it!!!#the tearing up in the last gif #said it before will say it again there rly was this moment with them right at the end of s1 before syd returned #& they were both just face to face with their loss in such a raw way BUT ALSO with this - that they still had each other #& it was such an opening for them to have the conversation they still haven’t had abt mikey and like everything else #& then that opening immediately closed bc the second carmy got the chance to pretend things could get better if he just kept running #he took it #hoping s4 digs this up between them in a v real way #i’m sorry and i love you and i’m sorry

hey so I’m fucking terrified

#gonna be so honest i have such a deep distrust of storer and the writing now that i'm v anxious abt how they're gonna handle this #please do it right please #don't make it neat and easy it makes no sense for this to be easy or wrapped up neatly with a bow to end the series don't be afraid of mess #this is entire lifetimes starts to finishes of horrible damaging traumatizing stuff that donna's just “trying to put away” like #i rly hope they let carmy have his moment to tell her about it and then do whatever he needs to do #the stuff we know they shot but that isn't shown in the trailers - the more tense stuff! - is giving me something to hold onto though tbf #the bear s4
