TPoH has become something so endearing to me, found it when I was going through hard times, I have never liked long comics because I found them boring, but when I found out about this one I couldn't stop rereading it over and over again, and now I cannot stand the thought of forgetting it. Thank you Modmad for creating such a masterpiece, and thank you for existing, do not ever forget how wonderful you are as an artist and person. Sending lots of love from Venezuela!

Modmad is such a rare and an extraordinary important presence on the art scene and my life feels richer from having encountered their work. Their comic "The Property of Hate" is an amazing story that SWELLS with love for art and explores the concept of creativity in a way I have never seen done before. Mod also has this gift where she can infect you with the love she feels for certain characters, even if you initially didn't care for them (I actively disliked Gladstone Gander before I read her fan comics about him, but now he is one of my favorite characters in Duckburg!?).

The OC I have picked is a little plushie-character I made MANY years ago, but never shared online. His name is Adric. He looks like a donkey with three fingers, a coat, cravat, a single peacock feather for a tail, and chronically sad eyes. He's not actually a plushie, it's just the form he has been forced to take for reasons not disclosed in my drawings. He only moves when no one is looking, which could be either a good thing or a bad thing.

Peculiar fella this one.

Mod, as corny as this is. Seeing your creations have given me so much happiness and opened my eyes to A LOT of stuff. They brought me out of a dark spot in life, and gave me inspiration to keep pursuing art. I have found out about your comic in 2022, and ever since I have waited every single sunday to see one new page (dubbed thee TPOH SUN-YAY). You've kept it going for over a decade AND I'M JUST "WOW. MOD CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT TOO!". Me and my fiance love you (PLATONICALLY IN A KIND WAY) mod! And here's Jelly Cat. I doodled him a lot in class when I was- a YOUNG BOY (nanana), and I thought he looked alot like a lie, so I thought it would be fitting for tpoh themed. (7th of July will mark the second anniversary of the TPoH-VF website ! While for me it started around March 2024, I started releasing it into the open, 10th of June 2024 was Mod's greenlight and 7th of July was the moment the blog was constructed and ready to host the French translation.

Time sure flies... wouldn't have thought I'd be there two years ago. Oh well.

Clothing company Patagonia is currently sueing drag queen Pattie Gonia for "irreparable” harm to their brand.

To be clear; Pattie named herself after the region in South America.

So Pattie is asking people to politely ask Patagonia to drop the lawsuit.

I'm extending the invitation to all of you, because sueing a drag queen for 'infringement' in the current political cultural landscape is vile. Especially a drag queen who has raised millions of dollars for non-profits, uses her platform to raise awareness for climate activism, and fully aligns with Patagonia's apparent climate-conscious mission statement.

They're claiming they're sueing for $1. They're actually asking her to stop using her name, and pay over $1 million in legal fees. They're straight up harassing her.

In contrast, drag queen Jan Sport has a Jansport bag line. It's that easy to just... work with a queen.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds

I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study

after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

et voila

and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

the male and female ones are gonna be posted separately bc they're taking a lot longer lol but yea! super happy i was able to capture the iridescent green of the head, i found metallic green and blue paint at a craft store that really made his head POP. it looks better in person i promise

ALSO!! As this is the 10th one, BIG announcement. The end is in sight!!!!! I plan to finish within the next 3 weeks and there will be a small dedication ceremony/ unveiling happening at the library to commemorate its completion on the 16th of May. the 16th is looming in the distance so i'm trying to get thru these as quickly as i can so i can have as much time for the GBH as possible. i still need to do the names next to all of them so i've got about a week and a half to finish everything which is GREAT because i have adhd and nothing gets my ass in gear like a fuckin deadline, let me tell you

and NOW that they are complete, ITS GO TIME, in the next five days (library's closed for mother's day 😭😭) i need to have the GBH fully rendered, the names of the birds vectored, weeded, masked, applied to the wall, and then painted, plus additional cattails throughout. I may be able to get away with just getting the GBH done in time for the unveiling and then just have the names and cattails added later, but i'm gonna really try to get it all done in time. BUT, i have a plan. Part of why i take so long on these is because i really am just figuring it out as I do it lmao. there have been many a time where i am sitting on top of the ladder googling "how to paint birds" but I think if i take the time tomorro to do all that figuring out how to approach it beforehand, this will go a lot faster. I may also recruit some of my artist friends to help with the placing of the names... hrmm we'll see.

Anyways, shout out to the librarian who tracked down exactly the thing i needed so i could figure out where to place the highlights in my birds eyes, ur the real mvp

In total, the 480+ total hrs it took me to cover this wall pales in comparison to how long its expected to spend on there, hopefully imparting a sense of beauty and love for the natural world to the next generation and here's hoping i'm only getting started with these.

Modmad is such a rare and an extraordinary important presence on the art scene and my life feels richer from having encountered their work. Their comic "The Property of Hate" is an amazing story that SWELLS with love for art and explores the concept of creativity in a way I have never seen done before. Mod also has this gift where she can infect you with the love she feels for certain characters, even if you initially didn't care for them (I actively disliked Gladstone Gander before I read her fan comics about him, but now he is one of my favorite characters in Duckburg!?).

The OC I have picked is a little plushie-character I made MANY years ago, but never shared online. His name is Adric. He looks like a donkey with three fingers, a coat, cravat, a single peacock feather for a tail, and chronically sad eyes. He's not actually a plushie, it's just the form he has been forced to take for reasons not disclosed in my drawings. He only moves when no one is looking, which could be either a good thing or a bad thing.

Peculiar fella this one.

Mod, as corny as this is. Seeing your creations have given me so much happiness and opened my eyes to A LOT of stuff. They brought me out of a dark spot in life, and gave me inspiration to keep pursuing art. I have found out about your comic in 2022, and ever since I have waited every single sunday to see one new page (dubbed thee TPOH SUN-YAY). You've kept it going for over a decade AND I'M JUST "WOW. MOD CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT TOO!". Me and my fiance love you (PLATONICALLY IN A KIND WAY) mod! And here's Jelly Cat. I doodled him a lot in class when I was- a YOUNG BOY (nanana), and I thought he looked alot like a lie, so I thought it would be fitting for tpoh themed. Our care isn't a lie tho <3 He's a little cat-slime. Eats anything, and leaves behind a trail of slime that mildly looks like space.

Alright, it has hit a bit of a rot since a few weeks now (we're at 16 people, hasn't budged), I plan to give it to Mod tomorrow evening (6/7-ish pm for me, European time, so in around 20 hours by the time of writing, which is 22h30/10:30 for me).
