Why does Marie suck in P4Golden? Lots of reasons, but this is near the top of the list. She’s so...forced. Here we have her 6th social link meeting, and within the span of like 6 seconds, the entire crew just shows up. I know this is a small town, but COME ON. And while it’s August, I half expect Naoto to show up too for the fuck of it. I mean why not?
This is to build the relationshp so everyone cares about Marie later in the final “bonus” arc if you MAX her out, but if you don’t do this, everyone just stops giving a damn and the game gives a lame reason why. This is how you DON’T introduce a new character/romance option in a Persona enhanced game.
Atlus learned their lesson in Persona 5 Royal. Kasumi is a hell of a lot less forced.
