How to Read Tarot Cards When You Don’t Know Shit
OR: HOW I STOPPED WORRYING AND LEARNED TO LOVE PRACTICING TAROT
This is a simple exercise I’ve done really to hone my intuition while divining. I like to pull a three card spread (past, present, future) but you can really use whichever spread you’d like.
Major Arcana:
Most trump cards can be self explanatory if you’re good at word association.
The Fool card starts a story that follows a journey through to the World, the end. Everything in between is character development.
Death does not mean death. Unlike most horror films, its appearance can actually signal a new beginning or change.
Minor Arcana: Know what each suit means or symbolizes in general.
Cups: Water, focuses on your emotional self, creativity and romance, following your heart over your head.
Pentacles: Earth, focuses on your physical self, material ideas like business or wealth, manifestation.
Swords: Air, focuses on your mental self, action and concentration, intelligence and conflict.
Wands: Fire, focuses on your spiritual self, intuition and inspiration, values and flaws.
All in All:
Use the context clues in the imagery of your cards to guide your intuition.
Don’t worry about misreading a card or getting anything wrong. This is really about trusting yourself and your gut instincts.
Don’t be afraid to take the surface value of the card during this exercise. It’s just an exercise.
I hope this helped you if you’re just starting out, want to try a different method to divining with tarot, or just want to generally work on trusting your gut.
Simple little Curses
Instead of cursing people with intents such as: they’re goals will never be fulfilled or they won’t archive happiness.
I mean that’s great and all but How about just curses that are just annoying frustrations:
💫Back acne.
💫Coffee/tea is always way too hot or cold, never the perfect tempt.
💫Their phones go off at the worst times,
💫As does they car alarms.
💫Always ends up late on important events
💫A pen explodes in their purse/bag/where ever.
Etc.
I’m all for hardcore curses but sometimes simple things can do a lot.
Spirit Communication
Hi~Hi~ Hi~
So you want to communicate with spirits!
Now there are many methods of doing so! One of them is what I call “card playing” (I don’t know why, I just do~)
Anyways~ This activity may help you if your struggling! Plus I personally think it’s really helpful to beginners!
Things you’ll need~ a deck of cards, Just regular playing cards,
First off shuffle them really well, then sit with them face down, and draw a card, but leave it face down.
You can sit with your entities for this if you like, or practice on your own if you wish.
Now! Time for hard part!
Try to feel for the card. Feel if you can tell if the card is either red or black! Don’t worry about suits or anything yet, just red or black.
If you are working with your entities, ask them to help you find the answer. You may get a flash of black or red in your head, maybe even a word. It depends on the person and the entities~ When you feel the card, flip it over and see if you got it right.
❗️Make sure you record your answers❗️
Keep practicing! Practicing makes perfect right? So practice till you get to about 70-80% correct.
Then you can make it harder: Color Suits Color & Suits Card Face Color & Card Face Suits & Card Face Suits, Color & Card Face (basically all that is a card)
GOOD LUCK!!

THE CARE AND KEEPING OF INTROVERTS
Introverts, like air plants, require special care. It’s not difficult care, but it’s not the same as what other plants need. If someone tries to care for an air plant without properly researching how, they usually end up drowning them when they should just have been moistening them. The same thing happens to introverts, funnily enough. When someone, especially an extrovert, tries to start some sort of relationship with an introvert, inevitably they butt heads, cross paths, and get on each other’s nerves. The extrovert doesn’t understand what the introvert needs in order to process the world; it’s just like the uninformed gardener and the air plant. If you find yourself getting frustrated with an introvert in your life, STOP! Take a deep breath and relax. These 7 tips will help you figure out what’s going on in your introvert’s head.

New blog???
I made a primary blog for craft and I would really appreciate if all of you lovelies will go follow that instead of this~ The URL is otherworldlycraft On that blog I'll be able to take questions, give advice and giving tarot readings~ etc. Thank you~ have a lovely day!!
I made these in response to hate crimes in my community. They are full size and free to download and print if you’d like to use them, too.
Since these are going around, I wanted to fill in some of the gaps! Here are seven more posters for communities under threat. As with the first set, these are completely free to download, print, share, repost, etc with no credit needed. This is open source activism.
You are all welcome here <3
Web Weaving How-To
So as requested I’m going to be showing you guys how I weave my spell webs. Again, this is a great all-purpose casting method and I’ve used it as a replacement for dream-catchers so as to avoid appropriation. Also pretty subtle for those with a hidden craft.
Okay, so first you’re going to need twine, something to cut it with (I’m using a lighter because my scissors are hiding), and a circle. To make the demonstration easy, I’m using a steel ring.
As the first step you’re gonna want tie your base lines to the ring. I’m doing six lines to demonstrate because it is faster and simpler. 8 lines takes longer but I think looks better. Make sure they’re tight and as near to symmetrical as possible.
Next cut a long piece of twine and tie it to the center. This will be the starting point of your web.
Wind the piece of twine around the center base-string about two times.
Pull it over to the next string and wind it around. You want these lines tight enough to make you entire web taut and strong.
Repeat this going from string to string. For the beginning of this spiral you’ll be making a series of triangle, each one should be a little bit bigger than the previous.
Once you reach the top center base-line again, begin making sure the lines you are making are parallel to the lines you’ve already made in that aisle of the web.
If you didn’t cut your twine long enough, it’s perfectly fine to tie another piece onto it like so:
Continue this pattern until you reach the outsides of the circle. I don’t like to leave any gaps so I will loop my lines around the knots of the base lines.
When you’ve reached a stopping point (usually when it’d just look wrong to make another line). just tie the line off at one of the base-line’s knots. This completes the spiral of your web.
Now, personally I don’t like leaving the spiral open so I always tie it off at the next point like so:
And now you have your finished web! You can now decorate it, paint it, tie spells and charms into it, anything at all. Have fun! :)
This is so cool! Alternative to stealing dreamcatchers too.
This is fantastic! Rather in the same family as a witch’s ladder.
So I've been very lazy with my studying toward witch craft and therefore I'm going back to the beginning~ lol. Any advice for a little witch?
Some Advice for Getting Started:
*Start with things that interest you!*
I know i get terribly bored very quickly (gemini curse lmao) so i find that if i dive into stuff i’m interested in learning about, that it will tend to hold my attention longer and help me get back into the swing of things! So in my example one of my first things i researched when i was starting out was about Crystals and their properties/uses in magic! From there i was able to use that as a sort of base jumping off point for my magical practice! And if you find something you were learning about doesn’t seem like it fits you/your style/ your practice then drop it and move on to the next thing!
*Ask Questions!*
No Questions Are Stupid Questions No Questions Are Stupid Questions No Questions Are Stupid Questions!!!! Questions mean you care enough to try and learn more about something! I’m pretty much always here and will try my best to answer as best as i am able And if I can’t i will do my best to help direct you to someone more knowledgeable!
*TAKE YOUR TIME!*
This one is important because most of the time i feel like i see baby/beginner witches try really REALLY hard to “reach the same level” as other witches as quickly as possible when in reality that just hurts THEIR path in the long run. Your path is your own, take it at your own pace. Enjoy the little bumps along the way and find the “Roses of your Path” (the things that make you want to stop and appreciate them: the satisfaction of calling your first Storm, the chill of the night air when you set out your first Full Moon Water, the spark when you find that one crystal.) Enjoy it. Enjoy your path, Enjoy your Craft.
*Use the Things you Already Own!*
Another thing i see beginners getting hung up on (myself included, i was/am extremely guilty of this lol) is wanting to go out and buy a ton of supplies. try looking around your house for things that can be re purposed. Old Spaghetti Sauce Jars can be cleaned and used as spell jars, deity altars/shrines, or ingredient storage! Take pictures from old magazines and make a collage Altar on paper! Use a composition notebook as your Book Of Shadows! Your old broken glasses case can be used as a case for your portable altar! Dig around and see if there are extra candles you haven’t used in a while! Wash out and save those eggshells from your cooking to use as spell ingredients! It takes some creative thinking but you can reclaim pretty much anything for your craft!
*Look for Bargains!*For one thing prices can be outrageous for actual craft materials: like Crystals and Gems? Truly truly truly outrageous. So keep your eyes peeled for bargains and deals! Some of the best places to look for things on the cheap would be Dollar Stores, Flea Markets, Thrift Shops, Garage/Estate Sales! Most of the time in those places you can try haggling to get things at a cheaper price (or get more for less.) It really just depends on the place but you can find the most interesting assortments of things! Keep your eyes peeled in your general day to day life as well see if there are sales at your local grocery store for seed packets, seasonal items/holiday items (look for the sales afterwords to really save haha) The internet is a great place to look, i know Ebay has sellers who sell raw crystals/ crystal chunks by the pound. There’s also places to buy spices in bulk too . *Don’t Compare Your Path to Others!*Your Path is Your Path, Their Path is Their Path. Being online and part of the witchy community in tumblr means that there are a lot of ideas being shared from people’s paths and their views on how they think magic should be practiced. What works for them might not work for you and vice versa. Only YOU can decide what is best for you and your path. and on that note:*Figure Out What YOU Want Out of Your Path!*When you get some time, sit down and write out all the things you want to get from your path and think critically about how you want magic to work in your daily life. Do you want it to be Super Formal or more casual? perhaps a mix of the two? Test the waters! Try things once and if you don’t like it then you know and can move on to the things that work better for your lifestyle/craft/path!Some examples from my list that i can think of right now would be:-Better knowledge of Crystals/ Crystal remedies and their healing properties-Daily research -aka tumblr--Appreciating Nature more (Whenever i go on walks with my dog i try to pick up some litter if/when i see it)-Daily Deity appreciation -aka deity aesthetic reblogs to @theemeraldgod & Pintrest-

Resources for Spirit Work
Please note - though I myself am not a spirit worker, I’ve done enough research and seen enough of other people’s personal stories to say this: spirit work is not always light and fluffy and happy (obviously it can be, but not all the time). Spirits are not all willing to work with you peacefully - some are even downright rude or aggressive. It can be dangerous, and there are risks of getting involved with other entities not of this world. Make sure you know what you are getting into completely and are well prepared before engaging. Read and practice at your own discretion.
