We ARE a small fandom, and that's exactly why we can't afford to handle things the way a large fandom can. We have to be more careful, because people spreading rumors and outright lies about people can cause a huge problem when there are only a few dozen of you at a time.

Also, do you really expect people being attacked by the individuals involved to be comfortable joining the server of those very same people who have actively been sending them hate comments and block-evading to stalk them? Like was said above, it's a small ass fandom - it's not like it's easy to hide who you are, and -- shockingly -- not every victim involved has a discord with which to do such things. That's why evidence of identity was asked for, and not provided, which would have been "just as easy" as proving it.

Beyond that, nothing justifies the plagiarism, bullying, ableism, and homophobia of the other two parties.

I've been in massive fandoms, and while you can disappear in those and just ignore people because you can avoid them, that doesn't happen in places like Hakuoki. There WAS no avoiding this issue, and she could easily keep her manifesto attacking us at the top of the tags whenever she so wished, making it impossible for people to ignore.

I'm not trying to be aggressive, but if you had wondered about motivations you should have just reached out to people involved and asked.

The stories and docs involved are circulating in quite a few servers with many people, so people are reading everything and putting pieces together. Since the first introduction to all of this for most people is the 42-chapter thing right now, and because one of the most readily available public documents about the situation labels the two people as one and the same throughout, it is a topic of some discussion, how it is possible that the two were confused as one for so long, if it was so important.

I have a different opinion about the plagiarism, having seen the stories and the history of interaction there — and I sort of have a different opinion about block-evading in general, but I agree there’s no justification for a lot of the posts and behavior that went on from that side. I understand that it must have been frustrating and hurtful for all the victims.

For people looking in from the outside though, the late escalation looks like bullying from both sides. I don’t necessarily feel comfortable, to your point, directly asking about motivations to a side now calling people, however mentally ill, talentless attention whores and so on.

Having been in a very small fandom, not that this is super relevant, we found that it is possible to ignore a lot, without resorting to the sort of thing happening here. But I understand if from your perspective, the response looks reasonable. (edit: it does not look reasonable from the outside, to be clear.)

Why is this a fucking spectacle to you? You can say you don't have a horse in this race or that it's not your fandom, but you're choosing to comment. What was the point? To make yourself feel good that you're not "participating in drama?"

This entire bullshit has been going on since the end of 2024.

I did escalate it, with results. Otherwise the very small, very quiet fandom was getting no peace at all on tumblr. And as soon a03 deletes them, I will be gone as well. Am I bullying? Yes. Bullying bullies. For over half a year there have been various attempts to reason, and nothing worked. Reports are slow and there are people who are fucking tired of clicking on the hakuoki tag on a03 and seeing the same two fucking bigots.

Meanwhile, there's supposedly groups of people sitting on their asses, going "Oh that poor little fandom, look at them go. Aren't they so fun to watch?"

All of you can go fuck yourselves for your own entertainment.

You can fuck off with your judgment and condescendence while doing nothing, while a AI-brainrot bigot was claiming queer identity and slandering neurodivergent people, and a plagiarist abuser was exploiting victims and repeatedly asking for details from assault victims to use in her fanfic.

The very reason this went on for so long was because there were so few people who believed in it, or cared, or did something.

So you're actually part of the problem.

Just saying that I’m in a few otome servers with members between 100 and 600, and own my own server since 2020 with currently 160 members.

The drama has not been discussed. Except on the server I owned since Saya used to be in it, and mostly it was just in… august I think, when new user joined after I locked my content in discord. And it was basically « we don’t know YGP. We know Saya though. » and nothing on the victims or the docs. They haven’t been shared in it. Since then, the drama has never been bought up.

I even made a PSA warning about the two, and also warned about the docs and to NOT OPEN THEM, just in case YGP could see the mail adress of the people opening them and use that to identify them, doxx or add their accounts to the list of victims. People were mostly agreeing with me, others stayed silent.

If these docs are spread elsewhere, it’s confusing because it doesn’t seem to be either in Hakuouki based, or otome based spaces. And if they are, then they just became a spectacle. I’m not an owner of any docs, and still, I’m not very comfortable with that idea. And not either with judgement for a party not even involved.

I don’t mean to sound agressive. But when I read your comment, it sounded agressive to me, so much that I went around to ask what a « W person » mean because I figured it must be an insult of some kind.

No hard feelings, but if you are in spaces where the docs are spreading, I’d avise you tell people to stop spreading them and delete the links. They could be caught up in something that doesn’t concern them and I’d rather not grow the list of victims even more. The persons we are deealing with are unfortunately a new kind of of unhinged. Logic doesn’t apply.

The completely uninvolved individuals I have shown this to don't seem to agree with you about how it "looks from the outside", so I really think your interpretation of things is just a you problem at this point.

They were confused as the same person for so long because no one provided concrete proof that they were not until very, very recently. At first, it was just me fighting largely on my own, and I wasn't about to put myself at risk by going into a plagarist's discord server who has a reputation for lording her power over people and being cruel to them. Yomi only responded when the stress got to be too much for her and she felt she had to say something, and eventually it got so bad that she literally left this website.

But I think you mistake something very important in this situation:

This was never about just mean comments on someone's fanfic.

This was about someone stalking a person across platforms, making multiple accounts, and attempting to doxx them. It was about active ableism, homophobia, and racism. It was about plagarism, attempts at libel, and anonymous hate as someone attempted to sew seeds of discord in fandom.

This was not just petty drama.

I stepped in because someone was being stalked and confronted directly. I stepped in because the cost has become more than just opinion about fictional characters, but someone's mental health.

Whatever you think about the plagiarism and block-evading, you ARE wrong if your opinion is not ardently against them both. Widemushroom DID plagiarize from salty-neo ... AND from YGP. Both DO block evade and spread rumors and libel frequently.

You are quite free to think that we should have handled trying to figure out whether or not they were the same person differently. I also have regrets about how that was handled, myself, but I also have a real life and go to school full time so I couldn't really prioritize this bullshit completely. I could only do what I could to be there for my friend, who I was standing up for more or less completely on my own for literal months.

Calling someone talentless and an attention-seeker isn't a crime, nor do victims of serial bullying have an obligation to be polite and kind to their direct abusers. YGP and Widemushroom do lack talent or they would not have to resort to LLMs and content stealing to produce their ideas, and they both ARE attention seekers who are upset when the world does not revolve around them.

I was recently asked by one of them to explain my rape in detail, including how many times I had been raped. This is not unique, as both of them have been much crueler to me multiple times than I have EVER, **ever** been to them. If you can't see which side is worse here and are upset that one of us uses a few rude words to describe the people who have been treating us cruelly, you should really re-examine your stance and whether or not you are actually interpreting the situation correctly.

The points on the original post are just some general impressions about what did kick everything off in the beginning, in those initial situations. Someone had a problem with OCs, failed to press back, made it the problem of someone who reacted, some assumptions were made, and then everything went bibbledy. Works that started with permission had permission rescinded, relationships soured, and so on. Much more, of course, has happened since then. I'm not upset about the language anyone is using, necessarily. Clearly you all have a lot going on, small fandom or no. Good luck with everything!
