Mine is probably Damian Wayne because I think his character is fascinating, and Jason Todd because his design is so appealing.
LOL i don't really believe in picking sides for fanboy loyalty, i don't really get the whole marvel vs dc tribalism the same way i don't get things like console wars or any other brand-as-identity situation. sure it's inevitable you like one thing more than another thing but why deprive yourself of other stuff besides that? it's very risky and a little silly to make your entire personhood revolve around one single brand.
superman is my favorite bc he's such a straightforwardly honest and uncomplicated character. the audience knows what he's about and knows what to expect from him, and the other characters do too, and he pretty much always delivers. in that way, he's a really interesting equal-and-opposite for how batman keeps his cards so close to his chest. superman serves as a necessary baseline around which the rest of any given superhero cast can be compared/contrasted. i believe osp described superman as a "simple meal made well" and that's probably the best way to put it :D
i really enjoy watching stas and would totally recommend it!! i think superman suffers more than any other hero from tending to flop HARD when whoever writing him doesn't 100% love him and fully want to commit to his optimism and his refusal to kill. the second you try to put "if"s and "but"s into his do-gooding, you completely lose him. his holistic character is like a prince rupert's drop and his morality is the stem. you let one little slip-up happen, and the whole thing shatters!
superman gets soooo much hate from joyless misanthropes and it makes me so sad 😭🙏
