Snzfuckers, I hate to break it to you but if you post a headcanon and then five seconds later an anon sends you a snappy, grammar-perfect mini fic with a flat, steady pace and a detached, personality-less voice:

There are SO many tells and LOOK any real human writer especially in fandom understands 1) that we agonize over things and procrastinate and it takes us forever to get from start to finish (or we never finish) and 2) if we are hit by a bug and can’t stop writing, it will be very stream of consciousness and probably have imperfect spelling/grammar. I know some great writers who keep it short, sloppy and non beta-read, and others who take more time (ie not 2 minutes from your post hitting their feed) to finesse and build it out.

This person did not get the ‘itch’ to write your headcanon; they got off on it and wanted to read a fic of it themselves so they popped it into ChatGPT.

Idk about y’all but I am a big imagination girlie and I would feel some type of way if someone took my idea and turned it into AI slop — and then insulted my intelligence by expecting me to fall for it. I’d probably lose interest in the headcanon altogether tbh.

And there’s no stakes bc these ppl are clearly not real writers who care about putting out good work, and you can’t call their bluff bc they’re anonymous anyway (honestly kinda another tell in itself).

I am rambling now (lol bc im a real human being) but yall get the point. It makes me uncomfy. Especially bc people seem to be falling for it. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth… 🫤
